My opinion about the lists that appear during the game is that they turn red too soon and disappear.! What could be the reason for this?

the game goes too fast and it does not make boxes fast enough so most of the time its frustrating to try and keep up. This is not one of my favorite games just because its too hard to keep up with especially with a mouse other wise the game itself is great .....

I like the game and it has great graphics. I am normally very good at these games but this one has caused me some issues. As the items from left to right it seems to take more seconds to reset what order it it. For example if it's Milk, eggs, flour, flour and I complete the Milk order one of two things happens.
1) Although the pic of eggs second stay in place for a sec, if you click on it it doesn't register,
2) Or if you wait for the eggs to move from 2nd to first place, if takes a few sec to register the move before you can click.

These have made me take longer than the time permits causing me to continually miss out on the level.

As for the game, I like TM games. They're not my favorites but some of them are fine. This one though, is a challenge for me. It's a "stresser" not a "relaxant" and since I'm already stressed enough as it is, I quit after failing Level 1. Isn't that a bit odd? People getting stuck at level 1 should say a lot about the game in general. Not every game is for everyone and this time it's not for me but my daughter will enjoy it.

I just found out how to check the event log, here's what it says for beach party craze that I tried to launch today with game mode enabled with Process Lasso:

Don't know what that means, but the game is installed, has a flash of starting and then stops

Hi Meadowlark, try installing the game into the Program file (x86) folder. You should be able to directly copy the game folders over, but you will need to create a new shortcut.

W.r.t. the event log info, hmmm, doesn't say much to me either. :(

Once you've moved the game, check to see if the game is being run in Admin mode; if it isn't check the box so that it is (to do this right click on the games executable (.exe file) and select Properties, then select compatibility. If this doesn't resolve the probvlem, try downloading a new copy of the faulting dll:

Check to see if it goes in the game folder. If there isn't one there it probably goes in the system or system 32 folder which you can find in the windows folder.

I also downloaded yesterdays game 4 times and could not get past the error problems though I was very excited about trying that one. Like mahjong and hidden object games both, so sounded like a winner. Time management is good exercise, but not relaxing for me. Will give it a shot though. An enjoyable and entertaining game that's nice for the whole family. Enough so that I would look at the other games in the series to purchase.

Amazingly this game is playable for me. During play it has 2 times stopped with the "youda farm has encountered a problem...." screen, but I am able to get it to start again.

I saw your reply to last week's problem for me, thank you. The help link doesn't apply to my problem with the new GAOTD wrapper. I have Process Lasso, is the game mode the same as the other one you mentioned? I had game mode enabled for this game.

My IE is online. I download and play games from Big Fish and Game House all the time with no issues, before the new wrapper was included with GAOTD games I had no problem, so I don't think my computer has a problem that would stop the games from playing. Just don't know what the issue is with the new file included. I did notice that the other games have several files included in the game, but I always click on the game icon to initiate. Youda Farmer just has one icon link, don't know if that's the difference.

Thanks for your kindness. Once the game is installed you can delete the setup.gcd file, so that shouldn't pose a problem. Without knowing your computer and what you have installed I can't really say what could be causingf the problem, epecially if you say games from other places work fine.

Where do you usually install the game giveaways? It could be the position you install them to (just a shot in the dark), or a conflict with some other program that you have running in the back ground. Have you checked your event logs when a crash or other problem occurs? Sometimes the log can shed light on what the problem is.

How do I uninstall this game?

Delete the installed folder. Most game giveaways are like thgis, free standing, with few registry entries and little in the way of uninstallers and other folders away from the installed game (eg saves in my documents etc)

I like the game, but it is too challenging for me. I get stuck at level 6. I upgraded the truck to 50 products and am wondering whether I should not have done that as yet for level 6. Most of the time when retrying the level it goes to the chicken coop, but sometimes it fails to do so, which is a disadvantage. At other times the crates do not show up, so you cannot load onto the truck fast enough. It is hard enough to play even without these hick-ups. I had to exit the game a few times, because it refused to go to another field. I suppose I retried too much. I would like to suggest to have a normal mode and a difficult one. The graphics are great and I like the way the truck drives over the roads and into town. I enjoy the selling bit the most though. I thought I was smart by doing the same level over again in order to earn enough money to buy upgrades (faster truck), but I suppose you just have to be lucky with the order sequence. So far no luck at level 6. I do not know whether I will be patient enough to go on or start over again. It is quite a shame though, because it is a nice game. So developers, please make it a bit less challenging so that the non time management experts can also enjoy the game. Thank you.

Pleasse excuse the lack of moderation this afternoon. We've had a very sad day, after fighting for three months to get one of our guinea pigs better. We had to finally take him to the vets late this afternoon, and he's no longer with us. :(

Too bad it wasn't Youda Mystery: Stanwick Legacy! And, BTW, there is a new Youda Mystery in the works - working title: Mercy of the Gallows. I did a beta test of the game, and it rocks! It's a HOPA, but heavy on the PA. And very creepy.

As to this, the only Youda TM I own is Sushi, which is pretty good for a TM. It has a lot of humor, and requires not only speed, but a good memory. Not a fan of "farm" games, nor any kind of "dash" games. Some of the more strategy oriented TMs are okay, but generally I don't play 'em. 'Nuff stress in my life without playing stressful games.

I already have Alice and her Mahjong, so this weekend wasn't the jackpot for me, but maybe next week!

For #3 of yesterday's giveaway: Do you have TuneUp Utilities 2013 installed? I started having that problem after upgrading from TuneUp Utilities 2012 which did not have the problem. I finally realized what the problem was after a second installation on my laptop (3 pc license) and could not install from the Giveaway of the Day and Game Giveaway of the Day sites. I un-installed TuneUp Utilities 2013 and the problem was fixed.

You obviously don't read my reviews. I've tried to explain the difference between MPC games and giveaway games many times. I've already linked to the MPC version in my review (twice actually). The difference between the game giveaway and MyPlayCity versions is that you are getting it free with no extras such as toolbars, home page hijacks etc, plus when you close the game down its not going to open your browser to MPC.

The games supplied by MPC and other free game sites like Jenkat Games, Gametop and FreeGamePick are all commercial titles that are still being sold by their respective developers and loads of game distributors. MyPlayCity pay the developer money to be able to give you the game for free. They get income whenever someone visits their site, which is why they code the game to open up your browser and direct it to open the MPC page.
apparently you can stop this, but i suspect when you download and install MPC games you are agreeing to allow your browser to open to MPC, so stopping it is a breach of contract. Plus the toolbars and home page hijacks also earn them cash. you can of course uncheck the tick boxes to stop these, but you have to do it every time you boot the game up. I'm sure most users have accidentally missed un-checking and ended up with a tool bar or found when they open their browser it opens to MyPlayCity. These can easily be rectified, but they are an annoyance.

Wow! This game is available in German?? That's fantastic!! Finally one my kids can play without me translating everything...
Besides: I like simulation games, really looking forward to this!

Make sure Internet Explorer isn’t offline. Open I.E. then click on file and look to the bottom of the drop down menu where it says work offline. Make sure that isn’t checked. Even if you are using Firefox or another browser, you still need to make sure I.E. is set to work online.

Youda Farmer is an hectic Time Management game with excellent graphics and decent game play. You will need to be a dedicated TM fanatic to really love this game; that said, its still very playable and that's from someone (me) who doesn't like most TM games. :)

Installation:


Youda Farmer downloads to a 41.7 MB zip file that unpacks to a read me and a wrapped setup activation file (the orange colored file with the key symbol), plus there's a setup file with security (setup.gcd) that's protected from being hacked. This file may case some security software to alert the user to a possible malware attack, but it will be a false positive.

The game giveaway team check all game giveaways for malware using several well known anti -malware suites. There has never been a game giveaway infected with malware since the project started back in Dec 2006. Some community members have been having problems installing gam,es since the security software was added. It's been found that turning off your security or configuring it to accept the setup.cgd file sorts the problem out. The installed game is 36.4 MB in size. and installs to:

The Game:


Youda Farmer has a lot going for it: above average graphics, realistic sound effects, and gameplay that puts a new twist on farm-themed time management games. There's one problem, though: unless you use a very specific strategy that involves lining up actions ahead of time, the pace will become hopelessly hectic by level six or so.The game's tutorial doesn't bother to explain this, which is a shame because a lot of frustrated people will no doubt give up on the game prematurely. Once you've mastered the right technique, however, Youda Farmer is perfectly playable and definitely worth a look.

You’ll start by choosing the color of your truck, and your gender (your character can be male or female). There’s no story, so you’ll jump right into the action, a two-part process that involves harvesting various goods around the farm such as flour, eggs and tomatoes, and then delivering them to town on your truck and selling them to the local shop owners.When an order appears at the bottom of the screen, clicking on it causes the screen to scroll to the area of your farm that you need to interact with in order to fill the order. Clicking an egg, for example, will scroll to the chicken coop. As the chickens produce eggs, you’ll have to drag them into open crates so that they’ll be loaded onto the truck as it rolls by. You can click ahead and fill more orders while waiting for earlier ones to be filled; in fact, this is essential for keeping up with the game’s hectic pace. If you don’t click fast enough, orders will disappear. If you drop too many orders, you’ll have to try the level over again.

Gameplay is similar in town; here, you click on each merchant to send the truck to their store, and then click on specific pieces of produce that appear in thought bubbles above their heads to deliver it. Finally, you must click on the coins that are left behind – again, you have to be quick or both the goods and the coins will disappear. Yep, it’s a whole lot of clicking.Collecting enough randomly-appearing “party produce” – literally, food wearing party hats – allows you to participate in a bonus level where you have to click on produce as the truck drives around. If you’re one of those people who gets motion sick due to scrolling screens, beware! It’s a reflex-based click fest that might frustrate people with slower reflexes, but it’s just a bonus level that gives you a chance to earn some extra credits and has no bearing on your actual progress.

By delivering goods and stringing bonus chains together (i.e. collecting three or more of the same kind of produce in a row), you earn credits to upgrade the farm. Adding a chicken coop, for example, lets you collect eggs, which means that the baker in town can upgrade his store to make cakes, and buying a pig stable results in a grocery store appearing in town where the grocer can serve breakfasts of bacon and eggs to the villagers. You can also invest in more efficient harvesting machines, more crates, a larger and faster truck, and even a new paint scheme for the truck (I was partial to hot pink).Where Youda Farmer shines the most is in its graphics. The environments are detailed and sound effects are realistic – you’ll enjoy hearing the realistic chug of the truck’s engine as it putters around through country roads, over bridges and around fields on its way into the cobblestoned streets of the town. And with each upgrade you buy, you’ll see a black and white map come to life with color as your farm expands into new areas.

On the other hand, Youda Farmer feels like it could have been fleshed out and balanced a touch more. With no story to drive the game forward, the only thing to look forward to is upgrading your farm – but in truth there aren’t all that many upgrades to keep players satisfied. The ability to paint your truck different colors was a great start – but how about more of that? The ending, too, is a letdown. In terms of replay value, you can start over from the beginning if you want to, but don’t expect anything to have changed. All in all, the game offers perhaps three or four hours of play.If you like your time management games fast and hectic, and have the reflexes to prove it, then give Youda Farmer a try. It certainly looks great and, once you’ve hit on the right strategy, plays great as well.

Music:

Theres no separate folder for music, it's coded directly into the executable, so, if you find the music irritating (like i did), you can turn it off via the options menu. If you like background music, you can then play something from your own music collection. :) If you are a dab hand at coding you may be able to add music to the executable, but you'd probably need a decent editor and some patience.

It would be great if developers started including a choice of music genres that you could select via the options.

Conclusion:




The graphics were excellent, with decent sound effects, though personally I found the music a little irritating after a while. The game becomes really challenging as you progress thorough the levels with multiple things to do and think about while you are playing. I'm not into time Management games as a rule; most I find horrifically nerve wracking and not enjoyable at all, but for some reason anything related to farming I seem to like. I wouldn't say this is a true farming TM game like the Farm Frenzy series, (my second best favorite) Magic Farm series (my favorite), TerraFarmers or Tropical Farm style of games are, but it's just about acceptable to me. (all those I've just mentioned are available from MyPlayCity).

The game comes with a tutorial in built, but once the screens have passed, there's no way of seeing them again unless you start from the beginning again. There's no help section either. (I've taken over 70 screen captures of the first four levels, lol). The game has no story and in my opinion the replay value is rather limited. Still, it's okay for a wet Sunday afternoon. I'm not sure that the younger kids will enjoy this game, but they may do. The animations are pretty good as is the graphics. I've scored this an average 7.0 out of 10 when averaging the scores for Game play, graphics, audio, re-playability and originality. Graphics and Originality scored the highest with 8 points each, game play was 7 and audio and re playability 6. :)

The Indie Royale: the Debut Bundle includes Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, McDroid, Master of Alchemy - Rise of the Mechanologists, CloudPhobia, Wimp: Who Stole my Pants and 6180 the Moon. The last one was free over on Desura last week. All come with Desura codes and most are DRM free as well. No Steam keys are included in this Indie Royale bundle.

Developers rely on good feedback to improve their games. If you download this game please take some time once you’ve played it a while to leave some constructive feedback either positive or negative. The more constructive feedback we get, the more likely developers are going to give more games away. The giveaway site already has a very good standing with the search engines. Developers want their products out there on the WWW, this site has the potential to do that. The game giveaway project gives away on average between 9 to 17 thousand downloads for each game depending upon what genre and how obscure the game is. That’s a lot of homes these games are being downloaded into and a lot of 'potential' cash that’s being lost by the developers. If we get better games because of better feedback, the community are likely to continue to benefit from the generosity of the developers. Satisfied community members are then more likely to visit the home sites of those developers and purchase games that they may not have bothered with before they discovered the developer via the game giveaway site, thus giving the developers more incentives to give away even more decent games.

Please leave some feedback once you've checked the game out. It can be positive or negative, but please explain what your reasons were for the feedback you post. You could also leave suggestions for improving the game, for example, this game could do with more block types for the levels editor, add more power-ups, describing the ones you think would be suitable, add some mini games (which seem all the rage in some arcade games now) or enable the user to be able to change the in game music easily.
