I've checked the appdata folder but didn't see anything. I was guessing it might be a register entry too. The other giveaway game I'm having trouble with is Funny Creatures. I was able to restore the progress in the game I've made but the game is now unregistered and wouldn't let me play any longer since I made it to level that is only available to registered copies of the game.

Hi again Chet. I'll have to dig out the game on my old computer. since that game was given away I've built a new computer so don't have it to hand. but i still have my old computer . I'll check the position later. I've written a post it so that i don't forget. check back occassionally and hopefully i'll have an answer later this morning or at least later today. I may email you the answer if necessary. sorry for the dealy. i'm on strong opiates so sometime forget. :) There's a possibility that the player data may be kept in the registry, but it also may be in the AppData folder ( a hidden folder, so you'll need to go to folder options in Control Panel and select show hidden folders. Look in the Local folder first. hopefully you'll find it there). if it's not in the My Games folder (located in My documents) I'll check myself later once I have time.

I updated to Windows 7 from XP. I can't figure were the player data file is for this game. I don't want to start all over. Anyone know what file I need to restore to keep my place in the game rather then starting over?

I'll get back to you later.

I love this game! I have played all the puzzles several times through. I missed the similar follow-up game World Riddles Animals, which looked to have the same sort of puzzles, but since have ordered (for $$) a copy. My kind of game!

I do wish that there were available for purchase other puzzles for the game frame or perhaps an editor function to create new pixelated images and square counts to solve. I would pay for extra game puzzles of this type.

.................................Moderator Comment.........................

That's a good idea. I'd love to see a level editor for one of these games.

Actually to get a gold medal one doesn't have to complete each puzzle with ALL the awards in one go, one can play for these seperately, i.e. for error-free, then next for the within-expert-time and the next time, if needed, for the without-hints award.

Reply   |   Comment by Lieve  –  12 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

To get a gold award for any level, you must use no hints, have no errors and be below the "expert" time. For one of those you will receive one gold medal; for two you'll have two. But to be up on top you will need to have three gold medals, which means three perfect scores.

Not easy! I eventually managed to get gold for the first level, but there's no way I'll get beyond silver for future levels. The time element rules me out.

Love this game! I have played it every day since the giveaway. I really enjoy this type of puzzle game. The #1 change I would make to the game, as already mentioned in a couple of other comments, is I would like the numbers at the top of the rows/columns to be highlighted/change color when one hovers over a space in that row/column. The mini games are a nice change of pace; I particularly like the "switch the pieces" puzzle. Funny Bear Studio has made a great game, well worth the $6 price tag. Thanks Funny Bear and Game Giveaway for a fun and addicting game.

I love this game, and I have become quite addicted to playing. However, I think the game would be improved by adding clarification regarding the silver and gold levels, and how to unlock bonus areas. E.g., if you must complete the level with fewer than "x" errors, or use fewer than "y" hints, etc. to get a gold rating, then that goal should be explicit. I have almost finished the game and received mostly silver ratings, but I am somewhat reluctant to start at the beginning again, given that the puzzles will be identical to those already solved and I don't know what level of perfection is required for gold ratings.

Please help! I downloaded the game and played it for hours until today. Booted up today and it is gone. Search finds no trace of it. Was this a limited time game and deleted itself upon expiration? I would really like to have it back as I commented to the developers "This is the first logic game I have found and I love it."

.............................Moderator comment...........................

No it was a full version. It maybe that the games shortcut has been moved by accident. Try doing a search for the games executable, which is called Wonders. The path may be C:\Program files (x86)\Seven Wonders\exe\en\Wonders or C:\Program files\Seven Wonders\exe\en\Wonders or C:\Games\exe\en\Wonders. Let me know if you find it or not.

Hi GGAOTD,
I loved this game, played it a bit each day and suddenly the shortcut disappeared off my computer. It is too late to reinstall as the time limit has passed. I'm bummed out as it was an excellent game to get you thinking.
Just thought I'd let you know.
cheers

Wonderful game, here are some suggestions for the makers.
I agree with comment #43 about adding a kind of auto-complete once all the sun-squares are marked.
In the main menu why not add the level rather than just the location of the city, so when one feels like doing e few easier puzzles one can see immediately where to go (1-Alexandria, 2-Zeus etc)
It took me several levels before realising what the silver/gold medal meant. The game could do with an explanation of the different awards. One can rush through a level, losing a life or several in later stages, just to get the time award, or not worry about the time, to get the error-free award.
Can all levels be completed by using pure logic? In the later stages I sometimes have to guess or am I just not always seeing it (quite possible!)
In the later stages, the time given for some of the games surely is impossibly hard? Or is it me? Old age maybe, faltering brain.... ? Of course one can cheat and do a level several times over and remember which tiles are where, or even do a print-screen, but that seems silly, in the end I don't particularly care whether I get gold or silver, just like to play the game.
Anyways, again, this is a GREAT game, quite on a par with Mastermind.
Greetings from Lieve, Belgium

Love this game once I sorted where to find it,
[my tip, where it says 'download to' make sure you put in Desktop, then you can find it, also I had to open exe folder to find the right folder to open game,
but well worth the effort to find it, so challenging,
thanks

Installed/plays fine on Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit.

I like this game a lot. It's a good brain teaser. Thanks GOTD!
One suggestion: Have the numbers "highlight" when your mouse is on a particular column/row. It would be particularly helpful when working in the bottom/right of some of the larger puzzles.

I'd love to see more games like this, or some simple word or card games.

WhiteRabbit - I hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Thanks, as always, for your expertise and information. Cheers!

Sorry to hear you're under the weather. Megadose vitamin C that's 7 grams all taken at the same time for 180 lb person. Adjust up / down a little for person's weight. 7 grams = 7 1000 mg over the counter vit C pills. Take at the same time. Within 8 hours, should see noticeable results and complete cure within 24, otherwise do it one more time.

I always take lots of vitamin D at this time of the year, fall & winter, and some C. If I feel "anything" coming on I do the megadose right then and there, and whatever symptoms I had are gone. Since I started that 5 years ago, I haven't had any colds or flu.

About 10 years ago, I started getting the flu jabs each year and tried that for three years in a fow. Despite following all of the doctor's orders with that, I ended up with 4-5 colds/flu per season instead of my previous years average of 1. Most people I know agree that flu jabs do more harm than good, possibly also due to the extra metals added as a "preservative".

Now my average is 0 thanks to the megadose, and possibly the vit C & D once per day.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

....................Moderator comment..............................

Thanks Joe. I drink about 1.5 litres of fresh orange every day (have done for the past 4 years) and I've been the only one in the family that has been relatively cold free. Maybe had a touch of one occasionally, but not full blown.

W.r.t. metals. I did a dissertation for my Master’s degree on the health effects of heavy metal pollution (Cadmium, Lead and Zinc) and was shocked to discover so many sources that most people ignore. Our bodies store all these metals most of which have half-lives of years into the tens of years, so most of us do have unhealthy doses of these and many more metals in our bodies simply becasue once it's been absorbed by our bodies it's stored and accumulates. I stopped using aluminium pans once there was a connection to Alzheimer’s because of the research I'd read while writing up my findings.

I have my default as a folder on my desktop. I have looked in every folder in C: without finding it. NUMEROUS TIMES! I've done all the recommended solutions to include shutting down my computer and rebooting. HELP! I've read so many good comments that I REALLY WANT THIS GAME!!!!!!THANKS

I have World Riddles 2, and all of the World Mosaics, but evidently missed this one, so now I have it! ;) This game is also offered by PennyDell as "Logic Art" in pencil and paper format, and I think the genre is called "picross".

I prefer the World Mosaics to World Riddles, but both are fun. And yes, they start out easily enough, but by the time you get to the last couple of "chapters", you will probably be tearing your hair out, LOL. They get incredibly difficult!

The one thing I really wish that they would do with World Riddles that World Mosaics does, and that is as you move the cursor across the board, the column and row of the block your cursor is on light up. This makes it easier to see the numbers. In World Riddles, I often make mistakes because I am looking at the wrong numbers, especially in the columns.

In the words of Bruce Forsythe "Good Game... Good Game..."!! Most definitely a time-stealer... but good for the grey matter!

I had no problems installing it, and changed the install path without a hitch... would suggest that the developers offer the option to install a desktop or quick launch icon though... there's still a lot of folks who haven't a clue what's under the lid of the C: drive!

Both thumbs up from here!!

Needs the rules for mini-games added, and also it would be a good idea to show at least the types of two games in the future so that someone stuck has something to look forward to. Other than that, an awesome game. Though I am finding that these recent games all seem like swf games online converted to .exe files. (yes you can convert some non-protected games using SWF.Max). it this feeling in only me or is anyone else feel the same thing?

Ah, I hadn't run across a griddler/nonogram game for Windows before. Nice. It's so much better doing this type of puzzle as a video game rather than pencil and paper, thought this one doesn't allow you to fill in a spot then later erase it if you have second thoughts- the instant you click on a square it is revealed to what it should be whether or not you were correct (just upping your error count if not). I just finished playing through the first two areas and had to force myself to quit.

It definitely is a well-made game from the gfx to the music to the presentation. Love the breaks from the griddlers to do other puzzles. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it seems they also give you a break with an easier puzzle sometimes after a couple of more time-consuming ones. If not, oh well. Thumbs up anyway. Hopefully I will start seeing some colors added to later levels. Some of those puzzles can truly be mind-benders.

Downloaded and installed on Ubuntu Linux 11.10 with Wine 1.2.3. The installer required "winetricks vcrun6" as usual, and the game itself required running winecfg and selecting "Emulate a virtual desktop" in the winecfg's Graphics tab. After that I was able to play the game just fine.

For those having trouble finding the game once it's installed, by default (if you don't change anything) on Windows XP it'll put the game files in C:\Program Files\Games\exe\en\ The executable is called Wonders.exe if you're trying to search for it. If you're running 64bit Windows Vista or Windows 7 it may go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\exe\en\ instead but I have no way of testing this for you.

If you haven't installed it yet, I'd recommend you add a directory name to the end of the default one (C:\Program Files\Games\ will show in the installer) to make it easier to find. You _can_ rename the directory after it's installed and it'll still run just fine if you've already installed it into that weird directory.

Found the main puzzle a bit `samee` after a while. Played it from install for the past couple of hours, got to Rhodes. Great to begin with but you get to a stage and start to think `Not again`, same board just different number layout .

Agree with #12 Sparkles. Ok for a time filler, but not for a all night session.
