Thank you messenger #31 for your reply to my problem. I tried uninstalling the files again and clearing my history and cookies but that didn't make a difference. Then I tired changing the screen resolution before the game started and that worked. Thank you for coming to my aid, now I can keep this game and will know what to do if it happens again.

Got this yesterday and it's not too bad for it's size.
I've certainly seen worse in larger games.
Found it fairly challenging by setting the options to "Hard".
Timed mode etc make it more so.
But yes, I agree that some very common words are missing.
From memory, I "THINK" you can add them in the options somewhere but I haven't bothered.

Thank you Realore and GAOTD for this cute game - the dsl download/setup took under 2 minutes on my Windows XP system.

Thanks Stephen for the great review - I began the download even before reading all the comments = I just love the Realore games!

Aqua is a cute guy, really make me laugh, he is animated and is tickle-ish, too. The mouse play is simple, the word choices do become harder as new bubbles drop and I always try to use 5 or more letters. Great fun for all ages, too.

Thank you so much for todays offering! I am tiring of my other games and look forward to the weekend offerings ... thank you!

What a great game, it is nice to see yet another great game for us users that have slightly low end computers without all the moderns 3d graphics cards etc, But this works well. Good work guys!! Thank you.

A better idea would be if these games were defaulted to windowed mode, versus a full screen mode that has not been "standard" for years.

Though I like and will keep this game I do notice a slight bug when starting it. I click on the icon to start it and it loads, then boom, it minimizes itself into the menu bar below. I have to click on the box in the menu bar to continue. It seems to work well after that. Try 1 of 2 things. uninstall the game, delete the file you downloaded from GAOTD clean out your cookies and history then reboot in case any trace like left over files that need a reboot to rid themselves. Then come back and download the game again and try it. Or 2 you could see what happens when you try to change the resolution yourself before turning on the game and see what happens. Right click on your desk top, go to Properties then the tab Settings. On the left side write down your current resolution displayed under the slider on paper. Slide the slider knob to the left to 800 x 600. When your done playing just restep and slide the knob back to the resolution you wrote on paper. The only problem with this is that when you set the resolution back to normal if you have a lot of Icons they maybe scattered all over the place. Hope this will help.

First, let me apologize for the typing mistakes in the previous comment. I have been playing with it some more and I finally read the message completely. It says the game is trying to lower the resolution to less than 1280 x 800 and may result in a fuzzy screen because my laptop works best at that resolution. The annoying part is it gives me no options, just shuts the game down. Any suggestions?

Help...I have downloaded four games from this site that work well. But this and Swap and Fall have a resolution problem on my laptop. The game starts up fine and then I get a message that the game is trying to change the resolution to "under 800 x ???" (sorry, it goes so ast I can't read it all) and then the gtame shuts down. Could someone suggest what I might do to stop this from happening. I uninstalled everythinbg from the control panel and tried again, it still happened. Thank you

HA HA, I played this at 4 in the morning tired and racking my brains just to find 3 letter words and didn't notice about Aqua being ticklish. After reading your post I just had to see myself. It cracked me up. He reminded me of a pudgy boy I use to be friends with back in my grammar school days LOL.
Not too much into word games but I do like this one. Thanks GAOTD

This game is a nice surprise after some of the games offered of late. :) It's a nice little game that is well made. The Aquatic creature is the same one from the Aqua Pearls game we were given a while back. And while being a bit cutesy, is not annoying for me. I usually play with the sound turned down a bit anyway.

I am not into word games but this one is playable for me. I can see it getting old after a while but for now it's a keeper, I am sure my wife will play it.

Thanks GGAOTD and Realore! A definate step up from the usual offerings of late. Good work :!: :!:

Yes, this is fun! I definitely give this game at the very least an 8. It's alot like bookworm however you can't save the game you are on when you exit. You have to start over each time you go in. Also I love the fact that you can "tickle" him and he laughs!! Really cute! Thanks GGAOTD and Realore!

Thank you. I do however have a question. Just wondering when if ever are yous going to go back to game giveaway of the day. It's been well over a month of this weekend limitation. I say it's time to get back down to the business of what this website was intended for. Just a thought guys. I use to visit here daily now, it's like once every couple of weeks because I just simply forget to cheek in here anymore.
Trust me, i'm not knocking you guys as I have always appreciated what I have downloaded. Just wish you guys would get back on the ball of things.
I even looked at the blog and nothing has even been updated in like, forever.
Are you or do you have any plans on coming back to 7 days a week with the games or is it a dead thing in the water ?

Cute little game. Love the little aqua guy and how he puts on his hula skirt and dances. I thought the music was nice, didn't bother me at all. You can add words to the dictionary which is a nice feature. I didn't find it too easy, in fact there were times I had trouble even making 3 letter words cause I had no vowels to work with.

Yesterday I asked for one for the ladies and I think you came through on this one GGOTD team. I'm sure some guys will even like it and it's great for the kids as well. GOOD JOB! Thanks GGOTD!

On dial up, WinXP SP2, downloaded and installed without problems.

I am enjoying this game - took a break to post this ;-)

The game is easy at first, as with most games. I'm getting to the levels where my brain is freezing up even trying to find 3 letter words!

I like word games like this, I even accidentally create words I didn't know before so I feel it's educational in part. Definitely an enjoyable exercise for the brain.

The bonus tiles not only provide help in creating words, but also act as obstacles (for example, the bonus letter tile which you can only use if it is the last letter in the word).

I even enjoy the little Aqua guy and his hula dance is a hoot! =)

Thank you GGOTD and Realore.

Back to the game!

Game downloaded within a reasonable length of time on my very slow dialup. I could not get the game to work until I went back to the comments of Jan. 2007 where someone mentioned that the letters have to touch in order for the game to work. It would have been nice to have some kind of Help file for a dummy like me. Thanks GOTD for this little word game. I like it once I figured out how it works. As you all can tell, I'm new to this stuff. Thank goodness for all of your comments, they are really very helpful.

I liked it, especially the Arcade option. However I have a problem. I see no way of pausing or leaving the game. I tried escape and all it did was reset the next level to go. Anyone have any help here... Thanks...

I got tired of trying to guess which words at each length it would accept. The haphazard dictionary (true of most computer word games) is a fatal flaw for me but for those able to mentally file it under Word Jumble instead of Scrabble it may be a good time eater. It's certainly not bad. Competently made, high-middle end of the low standards of Game Giveaway.

Worth the free download to take a look.

Downloaded and installed with no problems.
I like word games and I particulary like Realore games.... but this one? No!

Why no? Well because word games to be word games must accept words when correctly spelt, this one does not.

Some simple words this game does not accept: ess, sect, and many more.

If it is not a word game, what is it?

Quite neat.

Has anyone tried the 'Register NOW!' link? (This is not a naive query: some software is happily registered, yet leaves a link for registration which if followed says you are already registered and then locks up the program leaving you to have to uninstall it before reinstalling it, this time remembering not to follow any registration links.)

For some reason I'm not able to make words. The letter I click turns blue, but goes yellow again when I try to get the next letter.
Better try freerice.com. Multiple choice for the meaning of a word and they give away rice to the third world for every right answer.
Addictive, I can't stop till I hit 1000.

It would be an alright game if you had the option to turn off bubble-boy. With him there making a noise every 5 to 10 seconds, it quickly turns annoying. And he's a litterbug! Not a good message to send the kids.

Alright. I've played this and already have it on my hard drive. it is simple and easy, but fun and most of all cute. Well, simple and easy if you like word games, and the little character is so funny. I love it when he reaches up and turns off the sun with a pull-string light-switch. Anyway, if you want to play something half brainless after a hard day at work when your brain is melting? This is your game.

This is a lot like other word games. However, for anyone who thinks it is too childish or too simple, it is very easy to turn a game like this into a more challenging game. Anyone with half a brain can just keep making 3 letter words. Try telling yourself that you cannot make words smaller than 5-Letters....or how about nothing smaller than 6-Letters. After doing that, suddenly the easy word game becomes a tougher challenge!

I liked this game. The bubbles with letters are nice and large, which will help anyone whose vision is not perfect. The little Aquatic guy is kinda goofy, but he helps ease the boredom a bit. Not that the game is boring, but if you are playing with your own more challenging rules, you can sometimes go several minutes without making a move, and the little blue guy's antics will cut the silence.

My wife, who is NOT much into word games, sat and watched me play and is showing an interest in playing, which is a good sign. The power-up type bubbles are good, and the gray bubbles that end your game if they reach the bottom add a good element to the game.

As far as what I can do with this game, I give it a solid 8/10 for a word game.

Not a bad game. I like word games, and this one is about the same as all the others. The background music gets real annoying real quick....3 minutes and I turned the speakers off.

Installed and ran great on XP no problems what so ever...

I give it 7 of 10 because of the music

Introduction :

This was originally given away in January 2007 and received 80% of 131 votes. You can see the previous comments by following the first link below. The second one is to Realore Studio’s page where there is links to 15 pages of short comments about this game, most of which appear to be positive (I didn’t check all of them, lol)

http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/aqua-words/#comments

http://realore.com/aquawords/

The Game:

This is a straightforward word game that features the familiar Aquatic figure. There are three game modes Time, Arcade and Strategy mode. The only difference between timed and strategy mode is that you have to complete the level within a specific time in timed mode. Arcade mode on the other hand starts with only half the playing arena filled. New bubbles start to appear from the top at regular intervals (faster in the more difficult settings). If you haven’t created enough words by the time the arena fills the game ends. At the end of a level you get the level stats which include the time it took to complete, the score for the best word, the longest word, the total score and if there is to be a bonus tile for example a score multiplier, this will be introduced at the end of the level. The game also features three different backgrounds related to nature.

System Requirements:

o Pentium 200 or higher
o Win9x/ME/2000/XP/Vista
o DirectX 3.0
o 32 MB RAM
o 1 MB Video RAM

Conclusion:

It’s a decent enough game that’ll be great for a family with young kids. Aquatic is funny at times and is also interactive. Try clicking on him. Definitely worth 7 out of 10 in my opinion. Google Free Word games for hundreds of great browser based word games. I did have quite a large list, but was so tired earlier this morning that I forgot to save the document so lost quite a lot of the review.
