I am so glad I read a few of the reviews again. When I first downloaded and activated I did not start the game until later on. I really didn't understand the game play and was a bit disappointed. Then today I just read this was an improved version. ah ha! that explains why I had a shortcut already in the folder. I was playing the older game. It took me a while to find the new one, remove the old one and now all is good. thanks so much for all your hard work. and good luck with your home. have built and moved a few times and it can be daunting.

That's it!! Yes! Glad you found it, as I didn't remember who the developer was. I do hope you can offer it again as a Game Giveaway of the Day, soon.
Thank you for taking the time to find it.

I know it's a bit late to offer this suggestion, but if you find that you can't see your cursor, just disable full screen & everything will be fine. White Rabbit, you sound like me, "at the moment they are full of boxes from our move last year." At least, it's only been one year for you! LOL I hope all you moving around went smoothly today. Thanks for the game - it looks fun!

Loaded onto an XP platform, I had some difficulty with virtual memory. After existing the internet, I had no trouble playing. The game is good and I have enjoyed about 40 levels so far. It is Royal Envoy, Search and Rescue and Weather Lord all rolled into one game. I was not able to go into a windowed screen mode even after resetting the screen resolution to any and all resolutions. I kept getting an error message that told me I couldn't go into windowed mode without changing my resolution. It is a bit difficult to see the characters and to see the requirements for buildings as the font is so small. It would have been nice to enlarge the screen. Thanks to the GOTD team for a fun download!

I've done 17 levels and have found only two problems. The second page in the very first portion of the game, explaining why you're playing the game, had a terrible grammatical error. Spell check wouldn't have found it. I usually write it down to be more accurate but did not this time. Also at around level 16 there was a memory dump crash. The game froze and when I hit the windows key to go to my desktop, ok on the error box, it shut down. BUT...when it loaded back up it remembered what level I was on. All in all it's a great little game. It has it's problems but for free, you can't get a whole lot better. :) Thanks for another great game!

Hi,
Took awhile to download on 8.1. Graphic and game play seem easy. One request would be that the hints be movable. It blocked the game play, so had to
click if off, then could not get them back. Thus I don't know if froze at the mouse or have to keep playing for items longer. Will try later. Also,as
with a couple of games like this. You start off again at each level and have to get men etc. again. I would prefer a continuous play giving
more of a sense of accomplishment and moving forward.
Thanks for another good game and have a great week!

I don't like time management games but I like this one. It's a good time waster. Finished the game in about five hours. Time passes so quickly when you're having fun! I recommend it. It's not too difficult.

Love the game. I expected this setting with the first Weather Lord and was a bit disappointed, but this one makes up for it. Only played three levels, but am enjoying it immensely. Music is fine, graphs are nice. Good idea to combine two genres. I only hope I will not have the same problem as the first game. Every time I started the game again, it crashed a few times and I had to choose a low level first before I could play the level I wanted. Anyway I am very pleased with this game so far. Thank you very much.

Love this game! And it required no changes to the computer as did yesterday's game. I am a TM fan and this is a great improvement on last year's offer. I like that the weather stays in one place and does not need to be chased all around the screen. Definitely a keeper! Thanks ALAWAR and GGOTD and of course WR.

I got this game a while ago and I agree that it's better than the original one. Decent, reasonably enjoyable TM/road building game. I rather enjoy the weather phenomena that you control.

This note saying there is no installation and you can just unzip the game in total confused me. The file I downloaded from here DOES have an install process---it's a zip file with a setup.exe (and the gcd file) that you have to run and it installs into C:Games. This just made me a bit worried---did I download the wrong file?

Much likey. Nice graphics, sounds, and gameplay. Win 8.1 x64 full screen. Just began tutorial. Looks like once have 2 workers right off, you can click couple times on items to be collected and get 2 workers going at once. Hate games demanding only 1 assigned worker at a spot. Gotta wait then for each guy to return. Not here. Just click on Tree couple times & 2 guys collect wood.
Looks like keeper for me since have deleted this genre mega times in past. Thanks guys!

Not bad but not great. If you like TM games this one is halfway decent and is pretty easy to figure out. I did 7 levels and am not finding a lot of variation but maybe that changes as you progress. It's not Royal Envoy but I think it's worthy of one playthrough. Young kids might enjoy this one.

Nice game..typical of ALAWAR. Fun to play, etc.,except that halfway thru level 9, it froze. Music, sound effects continued, but screen locked up. Running win7, plenty of RAM, etc. Anyone else have a problem? Thanks, ALAWAR and gotd.

Hi,
I was wondering if you will ever offer the "Monopoly-like" game that you did a few years ago, please? I love playing that, but when my old desktop HD crashed, I lost the game. I'm sorry I don't remember the exact name of it.
Good luck on your Home Improvements. Thank you for taking the time to load games for us.
Take care.

I enjoyed the first Weather Lord - it wasn't too complicated, but it also didn't hold my attention for very long. That can be good for a quick game, but bad for those looking for something more involved. This version combines aspects of the first Weather Lord (using rain, sun, wind) and adds in a building/harvest TM aspect similar to Rescue Team or Northern Tale.
Basically you have workers who harvest food, chop trees, and construct buildings. For the weather aspect, you use that to grow your harvest (as many times as you need), dry up swamps, or blow fog away from areas. There seems to be more of the TM worker aspect to this game than "weather lord" tasks, but that isn't necessarily bad.
Each board has a new set of tasks and the beginning boards slowly introduce the various buildings and aspects of the game. I've done a few of these boards and mostly the game play centers around collecting enough resources to defeat the hordes of ogres roaming the land. So, you start by collecting/building resources, then you build defenses or demolish ogre entries and hire fighters to defeat the ogres that are present.
The addition of the TM workers makes the TM weather tasks less tedious. One issue I could see (but didn't really bother me) with the original Weather Lord was the fact that the TM weather tasks take so long. Once you set the weather pattern, it takes some time to complete (much like constructing a building). While more advanced boards in the original Weather Lord required you to set multiple suns, etc. to complete, the game still felt slow. The addition of the TM workers makes this game feel much faster paced. Coupled with the ability to assign multiple tasks in succession, there is always something going on, whether your worker is running to and fro or you are controlling the weather, your eyes always have something to look at and your brain something to do.
If you didn't care for the first Weather Lord because it felt slow or was boring but you like TM games, I suggest giving this one a try. It's as enjoyable as any of the others I listed above.

This looks like a nice Time Management game and the reviews above seem helpful. As for me...well TM games are not my cup of tea, but that is just my preference. I'll pass but others who like this game genre should give it a try since it is made by Alawar.
Thanks anyway, I`ll be waiting for the next one...

Hi there,
I just played some levels and I agree, the fist one was great, but this Game is really pretty better than the first :-)

I like it! And it's a TM game, which I don't usually care for. Somewhat similar to the Royal Envoy series so far (I'm only on level 8 or thereabouts). It's only timed WRT the awards you do or don't get on each level/episode, and doesn't seem to time you out even when you take too long (I took over 10 mins on one level), and you have the option of replaying any level at any time, from the map which starts each level.
"Installation" was easy, with no installer, just file extraction, and therefore, presumably no worries about a game installer messing around with system stuff like Visual Basic or .NET, as someone said yesterday's game did.
And it's running well on my creaky old XP3 system, without even using Razer/Iobit Game Booster. So thanks Whiterabbit, Alawar, and GGOTD!

With both Alawar and Playrix, you can be guaranteed beautiful detailed graphics and a 'well tried' gameplay. Unfortunately, once a good 'click and play' game is produced, they tweak it and badge it up as another game. This means that if you've played any of their previous games, this is very similar, even if you've not heard of it. That said, the music and atmosphere create a bright colourful world that its easy to get lost in.
The game (again, like most of these types) starts with a 'tutorial' to guide you through the various options and the premise of the game - drag clouds to water crops, collect wood and food for resources, build homes to create more workers, etc. Its varied but also repetative - after several rounds you know what you have to do, and its just a matter of completing the tasks within the time limit.
Again, the graphics and colourful and the sounds/music are cheery, so its an excellent game for kids and Grandmas alike! Gets people used to various computer actions too - double clicks, drag 'n drop, etc.
All in all a nice game, although it does have a limited lifespan before it gets boring and repetative.

This nice game looks like Rescue Team, given away some time ago. This one is refreshing and easy to play.
Thanks GGOTD and Alawar.

Sorry folks, my guests from yesterday stayed over due to the snow we had last night and have only just left (12.45pm), so I'm not going to bother with a full review today. We have builders finally starting on the repair work from tomorrow, so I need to get the rooms cleared that are being worked on (at the moment they are full of boxes from our move last year. It will be good to finally move the boxes and be able to check out whats in some of them and of course finally be able to move into our bedroom. :)
Brief review of the game
Todays version is much better than the original given away back in November last year, titled simply Weather Lord.
Weather Lord: Hidden Realm takes place in a secret magical realm where you'll find the usual fantasy figures such as elves, dwarves, goblins and ogres. To play the game you use the various weather elements such as the effect of the sun wind and clouds. The sun has a two fold use, it can be used to dry up swamps and also as a weapon against your enemies, when fog appears you can use the power of the wind to dissipate the fog and clouds are used to water your crops.
The graphics are excellent (and an improvement on the previous version given away Nov 2014). There's a timer but if you fail the first time around you can return and replay the day. Your goals are listed at the bottom of the screen along with the inventory of buildings you have.
The game is the usual Time management building type game with awards when you achieve specific goals. The game see's you clearing away debris as well as collect gold, wood and food. You will also need to build various buildings such as the workes housing, sawmills and gold mines as well as repair roads and bridges. There's loacals to free and ogres to fight off while you are doing all of this.
The defensive towers (sun, wind, ice and lightning) all have different ranges and varying amounts of damage. These need to be placed strategically to protect your other buildings.
There are also awards that can be earned and with 50 levels I think it is well worth the money, but especially with 20% off .

Blow things up on an infinite number of procedurally-generated islands, but watch out for volleys of missiles) which you can get for for $1, though if you pay over the average which at the time of writing is $1.69 you get a second game called Los Cuervos.
