Hi, thanks very much Stephen, we can never get enough of those links to free versions of Adobe Photoshop. CS2 might be outdated (well, hugely is), but it still works fine (like with GOTDs, wise thing being not to check for updates, or even register, as some free copies downloads come with legitimate, given by Adobe SNs, so no need to obtain them via creating 'Adobe accounts') I have both Photoshop and Illustrator. Normal prices for them were always shocking, that's why so many of Adobe Products (including Photoshop) became attractions when listed among Software pre-packed new computers? Have a good week, many thanks again for Your time and help.

Hi, thanks again Stephen for Your time and valuable advice, very much appreciated!:) I tend not to 'visit' Registry as often as I did on earlier Windows, up to (and including) XP.., with Win7 I stick to 'if it ain't broken'.., lol. What You're describing regarding removing Programs and Games, but keeping ('fixing') and backing up for further use important entries in Registry requires different sphere of knowledge, in my case - what ever I managed to 'fix' in Registry on external Drive (going back to beginnings of XP) and works for me on 7 - I leave be:)
I too keep simply purchasing Software I like and know I'll be using no matter what, less hassle, updates either free, or upgrades with discounts for regular customers (not sure if Zoner if one of them, but had it for long time, using Corel PSP thou almost daily and knowing it like a back of my hand:) For Security/malaware I stick to McAfee, buying renewals, or taking advantage (i.e Orange) if going for free for Users, soon coming to an end:( To make life easier on interment (pop-ups/ads) I had been using and use to this day - FREE now(!!) Ad Muncher, and recommend it to everyone, specially Kids, to stop ugly things popping out at them, does help!
Have a good Sunday evening (here in Suffolk misery of rain, bleeh), really nice looking Giveaway Game today (23rd Nov), very tempting graphically, unfortunately for me - not too keen on eyes, too flashy and repetitive, shame, but that's the 'beauty' of most of match3 games, as lovely as they are..

I am enjoying Weather Lord so far, but I enjoy time management games as a whole, which places me squarely in the minority as far as I can tell. What is a bit bothersome is that you have, even on the early levels, one clear path that leads to success and deviation causes delays that squash that ability. I'm happier when I don't have to find the right hoops to jump through but have a choice of paths to the success.
That being said, it's an engaging level of challenging. I'm probably about halfway through the game and I haven't been frustrated past the point of wanting to go back, and I like the varying scenarios that are faced as the levels progress. Getting the various weather patterns to sync with the various spots can be challenging - you can feel you've placed it but miss by a hair and have to go back and realign - but it's a minor quibble. I bring it up to offer feedback.
Again, overall, a time management game I'm enjoying more than I expected to. I like!

Hi, thanks Stephen for Your kind reply to my Sun entry here, just a quick mid-week note to add what I already said few days ago about changes (commenting) on the other side of Giveaways. Looks like it was some 'transitional' period, and gradually things were improving, stabilizing and today I believe they reached final stage, that is - no more confusion, baffling occurrences, and what's more - newly introduced 'replies' to individual Comments are now marked graphically (simple arrows) rather than using further numbers under numbers.. Seriously, no one expects Hosts/Moderators talking 'shop' with Visitors, but a little note (to be patient) would be enough to put minds at rest?:)
You are right about 'too many' Programs (giveaways) that are later not used at all.., but getting rid of them occasionally results in messing up other Programs in regular use, if for instance they share same 'libraries' (like filters, plugins, effects, fonts, sounds a.s.o), so I have to be extra cautious I don't spoil anything else (in my case, closely guarded - Corel PSP, Photoshop and handful of other Photo Software)..Other Programs might place their Folders in Documents, Common Files, have their own Services, so 'clean break' becomeas a real task.
Lastly - visiting both GOTD and GGOTD has for me many other advantages (besides free offers), as finding out what's new on the market and learning a great deal from Experts and Users how variety of Software/Games work - has always been my interest:). These two Sites (out of many) became in time my regular favorites. Sure, one can (and does) find practically anything by googling, but seeking and finding Sites that feel right to 'park', or visit more frequently, test the offers, share views and try to contribute when possible - for any given individual is another matter and an added Bonus?!.. Best wishes, as always.

While this is late, WhiteRabbit said it was OK to post these reviews days later. :)
I like that this game doesn't install itself into Windows, I wish more games were like this.
I'm not a fan of time management games as a genre, but there are some the suit my fancy, either because I like the game play & graphics (Royal Envoy) or because it's mostly the theme that suites my fancy (Haunted Domains). As with other casual games, any back story provided is unimportant to my enjoyment of the game, so I base my opinions on the game play alone.
I've only reached level 4, but so far I like this game. It's cute, non-offensive, and fun. It's basically a farming game but instead of installing irrigation or doing other menial manual labor tasks, you get to play with clouds, the sun, and some tornadoes that don't really do any damage. I don't like farming games where you have to pull weeds, hoe, etc. because my brain associates too much with the realities of growing things to be able to enjoy those kinds of games. This one is different.
You start out with some fluffy cumulus clouds that you combine to make a rain cloud, then you position the rain over a corn farm. When that is done, you then move the sun over the field, after which you harvest some corn which gives you money. Each type of product requires a different set of conditions: rain, wind (tornado), partly cloudy skies (sun & cumulus cloud), shade (cumulus cloud), thunderstorm, etc. Thankfully, this game doesn't require that you memorize what each product needs and when it needs it. Whatever you need to position is clearly labeled on the farm/item itself.
You can use the money you earn to purchase additional "weather" so that, for example, you can have a sun shining on two farms or to purchase upgrades to produce more products. On each level you'll need to combine and break up weather formations, depending on your resources and what is needed to complete the level. On level 3, I needed a partly cloudy day (cumulus cloud & sun), but couldn't afford to purchase it in the beginning, so I had to break up the raining cloud into two cumulus and then combine one of them with my sun, then break that up to make the rain again. It's an easy process to do and is part of being the "Weather Lord".
The weather formations are cute and animated nicely. They float around the screen until you grab them and either set them over something or "fling" them in a particular direction. Part of the TM aspect is to grab a formation and start it floating towards your goal and completing another task before setting it into place.
The game doesn't limit you to farming, you also create energy with a solar power plant, and fix roads with a mine, and I'm sure other things later in the game as well. You need energy (& money) to upgrade these items or to run manufacturing plants, so this is another resource you manage/create.
You aren't penalized for not completing a level in time. There are three time intervals. Completing the game within any of those earns you a bronze, silver, or gold trophy for that level. If you don't complete the level within one of those time frames, you can still complete the level without any mention or nagging for not getting one of the trophies. I really like this aspect; it allows the player to challenge oneself & keeps the entire experience enjoyable.
Overall, I consider this a very good TM/casual game.

Thanks for your comment Moderator. Last night before I went to sleep I downloaded the installer. I didn't realised I have to install the game before it can be installed completely before the expire day. Now it says the giveaway is over... Well I am afraid I have missed this great chance for a game that I may enjoy. I love time management games, and this Weather lord gameplay on youtube looks like something I would love to enjoy. I am happy to hear positive comments from others who received this game and loving it. I can see its charms. Thanks for introduce this game to us. Just not lucky enough of me today to claim this game... But I sure will continue visit this site. Thanks for being awesome and kinds to others. WOW since 2006? I must have missed so much fun software + games. Never too late right? :D

I totally agree with you. People need to lighten up. Unlike the terroristic hype from the USA TV, only a handful of people per million die each year from weather disasters in most countries (Bangladesh is an exception).
You're right too - why don't we get complaints about car & race games considering the number of auto accidents each year. Every year or two, someone I know is injured in an auto accident. My uncle and father-in-law were killed in separate accidents. No more car games? i think not.
People in California have a drought problem because they live in a desert, and there's been an on and off water shortage there since the mid 1800's. The only weather problem I see is it where I live getting snow now when it never snowed before until January & February :(

The game installed fine on 7 Ultimate and played fine also.
I completed 30 levels only because it allowed me to fail the time levels and move on. I may or may not go back because of ego and try to get a gold, silver, or bronze on the levels that I was just way to slow at.
The instructions, graphics, playability were good.
The game was some what boring and repetitive but gosh darn it made me busy on the computer and only delayed painting a ceiling by a few hours.

The game loaded smoothly on my Windows XP (sp3) platform. I played about 21 levels and then exited out of the game. Later, I had great difficulty getting back into the game. It loaded the splash screens and the map alright, but when I pressed "play", the game closed. I've tried loading over and over. Too bad, it is a nice time management game. Not too difficult to learn. The tutorial, game play and screens are very similar to their (Alawar's) original game "Envoy".

the game runs fine. but unfortunately I have to say, boring. gave it a trial but it has now been uninstalled

This has (unlike me, I know) nothing to do with the game....
But in response to comment number 2 (and possibly number 7 - it's hard to tell).....
We cannot pretend 'Weather' doesn't exist, just because there are disasters attached to it. Weather can also be good, for example allowing crops to grow or for sunbathing.
By your logic, there shouldn't be games about Cars, 'planes, armies fire, water or anything else which could cause harm or misery.
Lighten up a bit and treat the game as what it is.... A Game!

I enjoyed playing this game for the past hour or so. I like the concept of combining clouds and sun to get something new to use. The graphs are nice and colourful, although I picture a weather lord differently than the one in the game who does not look very lordly imo. The music is okayish, although it drove my boyfriend crazy so I turned it off. I like it that there is not a real time pressure. You can end the level at your own pace and still continue to the next level. I do try to end within the 1st time frame, but not succeeding very often. It is possible to quidken the process by clicking repeatedly on a field, but this is not very beneficial for my hand and wrist, so stopped doing so. I do prefer an extra button to restart the level at the results screen. Now you have to choose Main Menu, then Play and then you can select the level again; a bit cumbersome. GGotD and Alawar, thanks again for a lovely game. Stephen, good luck with the computer.

LEFTIES BEWARE! Yes, this is the same version as on other sites. So if you don't mind SETTING YOUR MOUSE BUTTON FOR A RIGHTY AND ALSO PLAYING AS A RIGHTY, it's not a bad little game. I like that I can go to the next level even if I don't meet either time limit; no PLAY UNTIL YOU PASS programming. But because of the way the mouse buttons are handled, I would never BUY a game programmed this way so thanks Alawar & GGOTD for this free game! Much appreciated!
FWIW... Must have been a LOT of complaints from lefties because this is the only game in the series that does not play lefty.

I really like TM games and have quite a few favourites in my collection. Still trying to get the hang of this one though. Have not been able to get top scores in many levels so far. However, part of the charm of these games is being able to nut out what is required and then to meet the objectives. Hopefully I'll be able to do that before frustration takes over! Thanks Alawar, I do like your games and I'll persist with this one.

I am in the process of downloading now but for those anyone having trouble moving clouds... if you're a lefty, too bad. I've demoed this game on other sites and if this version is the same, the only way to be able to play it is to have your mouse buttons SET FOR RIGHTIES in the control panel. A lot of games will let you leave your mouse switched for lefties but use the mouse buttons as if they weren't. This one requires having the mouse actually shown in the control panel as set up for righties. That's the only way it will work.

This game downloaded quickly (win7 laptop) and I've played thru the first 5 levels. I like that you still pass the level even if you're too slow! Just don't get the trophy which doesn't bother me. I don't usually like time management games because of the time limit!

Hi, Thanks for the Game, it looks as if it's a pure portable installation(?) I install most of my Games on external drive anyway and blissfuly hope that nothing at all 'bounds' me to this machine and it's OS, as External drive had been permanently connected to my laptop for 2 years now and I practically have no need to find out how (or if) these 2 years of Games 'living with Win7' would behave on my other machine with older OS (XP) That's said - at the moment, touch wood, because..
Your's Stephen personal PC misery of lately shows how fragile things can be!! It echoes my own past and quite a few battles with crashes that came mostly out of the blue, so I have every sympathy with what You've must have been going through this past week! I still remember this utter pain, hours and hours of trying to restore some order and normality after each brutal 'office raid' and theft.., and (often reluctant) joy when something was restored and working again. The bigger memory we posses (nowawadays) on machines, our own fails us to remember importance of backing everything up on regular bases..and I myself am as guilty of that as charged!:) I do envy this younger generation folks who can get over (and move over) after losing all data on phones, pads, laps and PCs with healthier (to main) ease, while I go into proper period of mourning, lol.
At the moment my attention goes onto another (perhaps miner) baffling thing with new system introduced to Comments on the other side of Giveaways.. and again (as usual) thinking what the heck have I missed, was there some announcement about coming changes? (I searched Forums for that but couldn't find anything), so far new feature being that one can directly reply to each comment, which is fine, but only few hours into downloading (UK) all comments are listed as 'nr 3', not all of them visible (like it used to be), my own not showing that it's under moderation (like before), therefore I'm not sure if I left it or not..questions, questions I could do without, but hate being baffled. I must be either really getting old:), or accept that places we visit regularly can suddenly change without any explanation?..At least here, still feels like home where everything looks familliar. I'm grateful for that.
Happy and Sunny (elsewhere than UK:( Sunday!

This is a different kind of time management game. I really like time management games. This is fun to play, sometimes you have to work to figure out what clouds make what. I finally figured out how to find the key, if you click on the ? at the bottom it will tell you what you need to build the different clouds. It would be better if the typing and pictures were a bit bigger. Not all of us can see that small.. All in all though I think it is fun. I'm enjoying it so far. I love Alawar games too, very trustworthy site. Thankyou Alaway and Games giveaway!

Nice game. I like the graphics, game play is easy to understand and the difficulty increases as you play more levels.
I have no problems combining weather objects to create new ones. Running on Windows7 premium 64 bit. Just drag one cloud on top of another and they combine.
Game runs fine. I have system cursor selected in Options (not custom cursor). IMO games run better with custom cursor off.

Hi Stephen,
You have my sympathies - I am still trying to get back to where I was three months ago after a catastrophic update from MS went wrong on me.
I could not roll the computer back to a last known good and the TWO different back up programs I used both could failed, despite always having them check the integrity of the back ups. Basically your worst computer nightmare come true when you have a load of programs on your ONLY computer...
So now I use two completely different, highly-regarded back up programs, and hopefully that will never happen again. I did check and it was not a virus, despite it usually being a virus when even your back ups cannot be restored. I really am not sure, but I think it was probably one of the "system improvers" or "system cleaners" that I tried a long time ago from GAOTD that changed something in the registry, or deleted something and when the MS update tried to update it, well my computer became a train crash...
So I am really sorry to hear something similar has happened to your main computer also. Did you get the wonderful "error" I got? - Cannot find the drivers for your Ethernet card, please download them from the internet...! Sure, if I had another computer that would be easy, but our other one has a motherboard failure. Ho hum.
Good luck with your computer, it does feel wonderful though once you have completed a fresh install and everything is so fast and new again - Then a week setting up all the settings again to get windows to work the way you prefer again.
Everyone reading this, PLEASE learn from my problems and use two different back up programs as well, you don't want to have to start again if you have a load of programs installed.

Wait! 100% chance of fun? First, I'm not sure that the words 100% and chance can really go together. I mean if if something is 100% going to happen then there is no chance to it, it's a guarantee.
But really, these people just GUARANTEED FUN if I play their game!
BUT BUT BUT (I like big butts and I cannot lie!) poster #2 just said that "people die or loose their existence by weather disasters" in this game! THAT DOES NOT MAKE ME HAPPY, DUDES!
That makes me UNhappy. :(
YOU LIED TO ME!

There is no installation process with this game. Instead you extract or unzip the game to a location of your choice. To play the game, navigate to the folder and click "weather lord.exe". When you finish the game or no longer want it just delete the game folder. The installed folder is 152 MB in size.
I have only played a few minutes but it is a Time Management game. I like these games to a certain extent. Unfortunately for me is that most games get too fast for me and I can't click fast enough to keep up. You can read some reviews of the game here...
