Whiterabbit-uk, NP. TY as always. You'll probably never completely know how valuable you are here. Quality is the most important thing that anyone can provide, and you've given us many tons of it over all these years. Take a break. You've earned it over and over. We'll muddle through and it won't be that bad. People like Jason and DD and others contribute partly because of the fine atmosphere you've generated here. Relax a bit. You deserve to.

This is likely a short game. Most of our weekday games recently have been, though not always. This particular developer has been accused in the past of just borrowing some free assets from free game development software and free art assets, which is often frowned upon in the game community. If true, then it's just a cobbled together game and will not likely to have a long duration. But, true or not, these are usually what Whiterabbit calls coffee break games. Similar to the type of phone games you dabble with while waiting in a line (queue). As he often puts it, good for a 5 or at most 10 minute session here and there.
Can't test myself, as I've been using an ancient machine for some and expect to order some parts for my better machines and maybe make a new purchase or 2 in the spring. But, right now my specs are below the game's specs. If you do download, your opinion would be welcome and greatly appreciated.

Water Chaos is a 2d physical game with pixel art graphics in which you are unable to directly move your fish/main character like in most platformers and older games like ecco the dolphin, but instead the player controls the direction of the water flow in the environment to control the movement of your fish indirectly. However the water flow change also moves around the other fish and marine creatures as well adding some potential strategy in order to collect the lost pearls scattered in the level and then reach the clamshell goal. Some of the things in the environment like the coral and mine can harm the player and some marine creatures, even the small ones when there are many, may not allow your fish to get to a pearl or swim in the right direction in order to reach the goal and collect all the lost pearls over 33 levels. Learn to control your fish (the gold/white stripe fish) using the WASD keys to manipulate the water flow direction.
Despite what it says in the description, there is no storyline here, and unfortunately many of these games do not include instructions which sometimes means that players may not understand certain special features of gameplay. The game does show the time it took to complete a level plus the number of buttons pressed which could have leaderboard or achievements added to entice players to beat others score. There may be a big bug as I was unable to restart after selecting that option in a later level, and upon leaving the game I appear to have lost my progress since continue is no longer there, and could only start a new game. There is more challenge than expected and is worth downloading & trying, but may be frustrating to some due to the inability to directly control the main character which can lower enjoyment. Rating: C
While in options you can toggle full screen/windowed, language from English to Russian and toggle both the music and sound on and off if you dont like it. While in a level you can return to the main menu with resume/restart screen by pressing Escape then selecting the correct item in the menu e.g. Options. Main Menu, Restart & Resume. Use the enter key to activate all menu items.
Esc = Return to main menu from Options
WASD = change the water flow

My feedback idea for improved gameplay would be to allow the blue urn with the yellow on it to be able to neutralize the spike bomb when they touch together rather than just block it, or blow it up. This would make the game inherently easier and more playable. Or when completing a level allow a powerup to do that so it doesnt just block the spike when you use it. Maybe when completing the game you could have a reply 'hard' mode where its like it is now where the blue urn only blocks the spike. As it is now that may be too hard for most players and they will get frustrated and not complete the game since there is also no 'kill the spike' if you cant do a level.

I greatly appreciate the time You take to publish reviews and game features. I was wondering why is there a count down timer when opening links to other pages such as videos of game play? I find thos annoying and unnecessary.

dadams, I believe that GGOTD (and GOTD) pass all links to other" sites" through a mechanism which gives you about five seconds of "breathing space" to read the "trustworthiness" rating of the site you're going to, and cancel the loading of the linked page if that raises alarm bells. Yes, it can be a little irritating sometimes, but it's basically for your protection.

dadams, That would be the protection built into the site. While the site is moderated with security checks such as captcha this adds on another layer of security.

dadams, sorry, I think folks may not responded because we may not be quite clear about what you mean? If I'm following you, you mean why is there a delay clock on giveaway links? 4 seconds for me, though you usually get the option to bypass that after a second or two and go right to the site. At least I do. Nobodies ever asked that 1. Good question. Not sure if they'll pick up on that question or not. Honestly, when I 1st saw your question, I was puzzled, though it's a relevant and straightforward question. Usually it's Whiterabbit who conscientiously answers those. When he knows the answer, as he's a volunteer, not staff. Staff might respond, but usually reserves their responses for major problems with the games, or when correcting the issue for someone who isn't get the email links. Often Helen will do those, but, as I say, it's usually only on the big issues. If you've checked "Notify of replies..." you might get 1 in your email from WR next week, if he knows. If you didn't check that, then check back here maybe Monday or Tuesday, when he'll likely be back. He'll often conscientiously post a reply on a game a day or 2 previously, if there's an unresolved question Good you participated, though. I think we almost all agree and are practically universally fond of and in debt to our ultimate gamer, :P, Whiterabbit.
