I probably won't have time to expand on today's game apart from my initial thoughts (see below) on today's giveaway War Hunter.

If you like FPS games, so long as you're not expecting one of the AAA games I mention below, I think you'll find this an okay game. Remember it is a budget FPS game that costs £2.99/$3.99 not £40 plus like the other AAA games cost. The game installs to C:\Program files (x86)\War Hunter and is 722MB in size once installed. As with all Falcoware games, you get five shortcuts installed to the desktop, four of which can be deleted (i.e. Falco Space - Online Game!, FalconLine Online Games Website, FalcoGo WebGL Games! and Free Games Downloads!).

Okay, I did a ten minute foray into War Hunter and for a budget first person shooter I was mildly impressed. It has reasonable graphics and game play - (okay this is not a Call of Duty, Battlefield, Tom Clancy's or ArmA quality FPS). You start the game looking at an ariel view of the area you are to be dropped in. (there is a swear word used in the introduction referencing the name you give to someone born of an unmarried mother). Next minute you and your buddy are running through snow covered wasteland towards a small village/town. On the way you meed a couple of small patrols which are quickly dispatched between yourself and your buddy. If you stray too far away from your buddy you get a warning message 'don't stray too far from your buddy. If you do you die. Basically this is a rail shooter, which means you can only follow your companion, and must clear away all OpFor (opposing forces) before moving on to the next stage. On entering the village you are met with your first group of OpFor. That's as far as I've got so far having died several times trying top clear the area.

If you enjoy FPS games this is one to check out so long as you realize it is a budgetFPS game. I was really surprised to find you also have iron sights and are able to crouch, so the game play is much improved on previous shooters we've had from Falcoware.

If you want to compare this game with the likes of the AAA games that cost hundreds of millions to create and are literally a hundred times larger w.r.t. files size, there's no contest, this game is very poor. That said, it's a budget FPS game with much lower resolution imagery, plus many of the aspects found in the popular FPS games of today are missing such as l no lean or prone commands; however, on the plus side, the developer has included iron sights, which have been missing from all of the FPS games we've so far been given via Falcoware.the addition of the iron sights was a welcome addition.
