Walls in Dead is a simple pixel graphic, challenging top down meat shooter, where you you have to clear the labyrinths of a secret underground laboratory of the guards so that you can escape.
You run around a maze like dungeon complex shooting every guard. You have unlimited ammo and plenty of health packs to pick up. Health packs are cumulative, so you can build up fairly high health scores (assuming you manage to escape the fire from the guards). Every hit by an enemy reduces your health. If you die you return to the beginning of the level. To enter a new level, find the tunnel entrance to that level (see the last image below for details of the entrance to level 2). I've only spent around 15 minutes playing this game so far and have part finished the second level, but keep losing all my health and having to start the level again. You control your pixel figure using the WASD keys and aim and fire using the mouse pointer and the LMB. Esc takes you back to the main menu where you can either choose a new game or continue where you left off. It only saves to the beginning of the level you were on. If you leave the game mid level, you lose the progress in that level. If you start a new game all previous progress is lost.
You can see a video of game play HERE. I enjoyed the short time I played the game, but there wasn't much variety in level design, so doubt I'll return to it.

Oh good grief . . . all these happy, jolly, smiley games are too much for me . . .

Seriously, I know it's good that the games are coming in regularly again, after a long spell of weekends only. But why do they all have to be about death, murder, mass destruction and similar cheerful chappies stuff? I can't be the only one who would rather do triple maths than play at painting the entire screen with splattered blood.

It's getting to the point where I don't always bother to read beyond the title before closing the page.

I know it's not WR's fault, probably not entirely the fault of GGAOTD either. But I would guess that a lot of previously regular fans have given up their weekday visits, and only drop in at the weekend.

:-(
