Just something that made me giggle to start with:
Man or Woman? Woman
Talk to Cassandra.
Cassandra: I think we can make you a man...
Me (pouting) But if I wanted to be a man, I'd have ticked the first box back there!
When I read vampire, I decided this game wasn't for me. After reading further, it sounded really interesting so I downloaded it. It's much more interesting than I thought it would be but at the same time it's back and forth, back and forth. I've gotten used to pretty much instantaneous travel in games so the "get on your horse and ride from one side of the screen to the other" was a bit irritating but I figured it was good for me. That was before I found out that the game was more like: go somewhere to do something. Get there to find out you need to go somewhere else to get something else first. Then you find out that you need more money than you have so go to work to get more money. Then go back to get the thing you wanted then go back to do the task except you didn't realize that it costs more money so go back to work and so on. And between each one, wait while the animation rides across the screen. Fortunately, there doesn't seem to be a penalty for the time anything takes.
This time thing seems a bit odd to me though. You buy better stuff so that you regain vigor and mana faster. But why bother? Unless I'm missing something, you just rest 5 or 6 times instead of once.
In some ways, the game is more interesting than I'd expected but in others, it just seems frustratingly slow.
As Whiterabbit-uk mentioned, replayability looks good. In fact, I have a feeling that playing it a second time is better than playing it the first time. I have to say though, I love shopping for clothes. I'm so glad they let us try them on before we buy them.

I'm getting a 404 error when I click download on the game giveaway site. How can I get this game. Can you send me a download link through my email?
Thank you

I played this all the way through in a few hours. Apart from the dark setting and that fact that everyone said they were vampires, nothing else about this screamed vampire. You don't have to go around drinking blood, for example, but instead can eat perfectly normal food. You do have options (and are occasionally required) to upgrade your room, steed, pets, and wardrobe. (You can also change the colors of every item of clothes you buy).
To me the game seemed fairly straightforward. I liked that that whole town was on one screen. (I am used to RPGs where you have to wander all over many boards and often get lost). I was a little disappointed that the love interest (the reason for the whole scenario) didn't have a role in the story other than a glimpse at the end. Part of the game play (buy learn learn learn learn learn learn learn etc) go home (rest rest rest rest) go to work (work work work work) go home (rest rest etc.) got a little repetitive, so I started watching TV at the same time.
On a technical note, I will say that if you play this on a Surface Pro hooked up to another monitor through a dock, there are two issues 1) if you play on full screen, this will only appear on the SP screen, not the external monitor and 2) the Surface Pro pen won't work with this game. You have to either use a regular mouse or your finger.
However, I give the game a 4/5 for keeping me amused for a few hours. 5/5 for sheer number of classes and upgrade options to choose from. Graphics were probably good in 2012, so 4+. Maybe 3.5/5 for music. Storyline:4/5. I would probably only give it a 2/5 for replayability, though. If I did play again, I would switch genders just to see the other clothes.
What I would love in the game is a in-screen snapshot feature for taking pix of the character in the room with different outfits and pet combos. It would have been neat to see the way both progressed over time.

I am not a robot.. :) It installed on Win 7 Home just fine. Graphics run smoothly and I really like the Gothic feel to it as well. I opened it up and made sure everything was working. Will check it more later today. I really enjoy these types of games. Thank you GGOTD and My Play City. This game looks to be intriguing.

Have tried three times to get the download link sent to my email (as I usually do), but nothing's come in, not even to the spam folder. Although TMs and SIMs are not usually my cup of tea, the description of this one, along with the promise of a few HOG and puzzle features, enticed me. Is there any other way to get a download link? Usually the email option works like a charm.

neme, yahoo email came right away, like in instant with link d/l as usual. Might try again since is working at this moment.

My email finally came just within the last hour--- many hours after requested! Installed fine on Win 8.1. Played for a little while; confirmed that I just am not in love with TM games (although I seem to manage my own life fairly well :)) and haven't yet come across any puzzles. So this may not be my cup of tea, but I give a big thumbs-up to any game that skillfully endeavors to enhance one genre with the addition of others, to break up the monotony.
For those who like these TM (or life management) games, this looks like a really nice addition. I will keep this one to play some more, though I miss my favorite adventure/HOG/puzzle games.

neme, Goodo. Never know, server (s) do get overloaded and such. Agree about most TM games. Hate kind where little guy runs around chopping wood, stone. Always one darn tree or item to find before win level for full time points. Yes this one is to be congratulated for effort to mix elements for hopefully some freshness.

Hi folks. This game sounds interesting enough, but can anyone answer me this: How difficult is the job/character building side? I'm recalling my feeble attempts to manage Kudos and Sims. O_o
Thanks to Whiterabbit for taking time to write up these reviews and My Play City for bringing us some pretty awesome games for free. Cheers.
