This is my favorite of the 2 Turtle Odyssey games (but thank you for posting 1 also)! I'm crossing my fingers they make a 3rd one!

Turtle Odyssey 2 is so user friendly my 3 year-old didn't even need a tutorial. It is a nice upgrade from the first one which needs to right and left click. The other appreciated upgrade is you can choose to advance or remain on the lower levels which is also good for the little ones. The first one automatically advances you.

Thank you! Little kids can play this 1 & have a lot of fun, without having to beat a timer or too many monsters or bad things! Whoever created this 1, many kudos! It's so frustrating for a kindergartener or 1st grader to want to play the games other kids do, just cause that's about all there is out there. But this one! They can play it too! My daughter spends a lot of $ on video games, only to find out time & again, that her child can't play it yet, it's just too hard. Only about 6 games, for around $40 each, can the poor kid actually play, out of about 20! They look like for little kids, but they aren't.
This 1 is cute, has skill-building actions, fun, & JUST RIGHT!

Congrats Realore! Thank you very much! And Thanks GOTD team!

Now if only some other companies would start coming out with some different kinds of games too! All skill levels, new genres. It's like they don't have imaginations to invent something new or for different skill levels. Realore seems to get that!
Again, KUDOS REALORE!

Delightful and beautifully rendered side-scroller! Ozzy rules! One for children as well as nostalgic adults. Runs well on Vista.

One of the best games I've downloaded from here. Thanks! Graphics are excellent, and gameplay is reminiscent of old school platformers for kids. I'm sure kids will like this, but because of the quality of the game, any age will enjoy this.

Great graphic! Take a long time to install though. Like 5 minutes or so. Laggy if you have quality on high. actually very laggy. And my computer is pretty fast.

This game is fun. Graphics are cute and colourful. The only things I would improve about the game are to allow Ozzie to swim (he is a tutle after all), have the ability to make him run (especially in the bonus rounds) and not repeat the tutorial (i.e. I'm told at the start of the level about the crabs, and I'm told when I hit the question mark). Other than that, a great game. Thanks.

#9 - I own neither. I cannot install games/softwares from GAOTD because of PeoplePC. It's something on their end, and they refuse to fix it for me. Stubborn bastards. :( I didn't have this problem when I had cable modem. =\

Gah! I actually paid for this one awhile back (not full price, but still). It's a cute game and relatively relaxed. Good for pre-middle school kids and those of us adults who like a fairly easy platformer thrown in every once in awhile.

Give me a break here! I want this game! I've tested my download speed at 4 different sites for 8 different cities and reports are from 300 to 800 kb/sec but downloading from wiki is 2.50 kb/sec.. that's 2 hours for a 14mb download! Might as well be dialup... grrrrr.

I had this game b4 and loved it. When I try to download it today from the site everything seems fine, but when I install and try to play the game the graphics are garbled with lines running through the game screen. Wish I could figure out what the problem is; I've tried re-setting about everything on my laptop to accomodate anything that could possibly be wrong with my settings. Anyone else have this problem?

My review of Turtle Odyssey is here:

"A game with no gore or crazy characters."

And how does that make it special?

>the anon

"finally a nice innocent game for Kids..

No random Violence and nonense.."

"Finally", huh? When was the last time that this site had a game with "random Violence"? If I remember correctly, it was with Jets 'n' Guns(which had a no-gore option) back in October - 92 days ago. That's almost a hundred violence-free games, and you're acting like it's the other way around. I'm actually getting hungry for some gore right now...mmm, whale innards.

I prefer puzzle games...adventure games seem dull and thoughtless...not impressed...ahhh well, there is still tomorrow, and the das to come...but please, be more selective, especially since I am assuming that you have already put up Turtle Odyssey 1, and chose newer games, not follow-ups

Yours truly,
Joe

Thanks (#59) for the suggestion and I did try both but to no avail, I still can't play the game and it's a winner. Don't have a clue why I could before and still play Ozzy Bubbles but this one won't function. Thanks GAOTD, it's a good game, childish or not, I sure do enjoy it and I'm waaaay beyond a child.... *S*

Sorry, as much as I love platform games, this one is too childish and unchallenging for me. It is very well-produced, and young children (around ages 5-8) should enjoy it.

@35 - it's called teasing. i didn't mean to offend you, or your Tandy. Truth be told, i wish i still had my old Timex Sinclair 1000. Maybe Jane (#3) will sell hers to me.
For the record, sarcasm is NOT, inherently, a bad thing. It is a valid literary device used by literary giants in many different languages throughout the last millennium and before.

@48 - Thank you! It's nice to know someone got a laugh. Hopefully Jane did too. I did, after all, make the point to return here to post an answer JUST for her.

Installation and setup went fine. Nice little game to occupy your time. Easy to play though I only played the first few levels. Not a real challenge so far. Maybe better suited for the younger group. Good graphics and can be tailored to your preference of controls.

Thanks GGAOTD and Realore! :)

Well.. its another platform game, and it seems geared MUCH more to children than teens or adults. That having been said, it is a very beautifully put together game. The graphics are outstanding and the music is very nice. I think I would buy it if I had kids.. otherwise its nice to play once in a while for free. Thanks GAOTD!

Thank you so much for this cute turtle game! (I missed version 1). The download and setup on my Windows XP was under 5 minutes and plays without any problems. Yes, this game is geared towards kids, but I love the kid games, too! No blood/no violence ... Great that you can use the arrow keys and mouse , plus a bonus of a joystick - setting that up in a few minutes. The music is cute, the graphics are great and reminds me a bit of Mario but with a turtle. Thank you very much!

I had the same problem as #51, I uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled even downloaded a second time and installed again. Still the vertical lines on the left that covers about one third of my screen. I had this game before, lost it when I formatted and was really happy to see it available again. No problems ever before and can't understand it now. It's a great game, just a pity I can't get it to work for me. I'm running XP Home by the way....

I'm not a big fan of platform games, but because the thumbs-up was so high, I decided to give it a shot. Well, I'm certainly glad I did. I've been having alot of fun playing this off and on (between actual work, lol). Haven't had any issues at all (WinXP SP2), and am amazed at the quality of the graphics, and as #52 stated, "responsive controls" and "smooth as silk game play". I'll be downloading this when I get home as well; I believe my 7yo might like this, eventually (she gets frustrated rather quickly)...

Nice graphics, responsive controls, support for all forms of controllers and smooth as silk game play! There is a lot to like about this platformer, so fans of the genre shouldn't miss this!

I noticed a small amount of comments about slow play or graphics compatibility issues so I will try it on my old ME based system when I get my lazy arse upstairs!

Beautifully rendered, simple to play, fast to load, an all around great little game to waste time with. ^_^ Kind of like "Super Mario Bros." but with a cute critter (turtle) for your character and better graphics and effects (and music).
