Downloaded, installed, activated, works fine.. but not really my type of game. So I installed it on my wife's computer, cause she loves this kinda stuff. All she gets is a black screen, nothing to see but the cursor. Windows XP, Direct X 9, blah blah.... She has 32MB Radeon 7000 video, so maybe that's the problem, but shouldn't be... ?
Per MAD GEARS web site:
System requirements

* Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
* DirectX 8 or higher
* 128Mb RAM
* 32Mb video card

Anyway, thanks GOTD for all the free stuff that does work!

Fun...might actually be worth paying for which is more than I can say for most free games.

I enjoyed this one. Thanks...

No matter what, I can only play endless mode, not adventure.
Never mind, I'll just delete it again, but what does totally beats me, is how incredibly impolite people always react here and on the forums.
Either the giveaway is not good enough, either the users are stupid, brainless, dumb because they have Vista etc etc.
I wonder if any of the people who are so insultative would even dare to say things as they say in peoples faces.
Most likely not.
Maybe that would be a very good idea: consider first if what you say, you would say to a guy who is twice your size.

Kelly, Susanna, etc.,

You don't need any numbers to activate it. Move the game and the open windows and look for a little box that says it is activated, all you need to do is to check OK. I will stay with you. Write back if you still haven't got it.

have all the system requirements, installed the game it loaded then the mouse disappeared. Uninstalled it and installed it a 2nd time & the very same thing as before. Don't even get to try the game. When I hit ctrl-alt-delete to end task it said that the game was using 100% cpu.
Would have liked to have had the game wrk because my Grandchildren like games like this.

For those of you who--like me--were unable to get the "Adventure" part of the game to work:

The "Adventure" part seems to have code which conflicts with the administrator account in XP Home. It runs perfectly under a user account. Therefore, you might try installing it as a non-administrator user and get it to work properly. I did. You could try installing it under the Guest account. Seems like that should work. This might also be causing some people to be unable to activate it--I'm not sure.

I like the "Adventure" part of the game pretty well. I don't really care too much for the "Endless" part.

Thought this might be helpful to someone who would really like to try out this game.

Thanks GGotD.

Okay, my laptop isn't the fastest one out there, but it's not too primitive either. However this game slows my system down! First time I ran the game it was really going slow and the pointer was sticking everywhere, so I had to end pretty much all my background processes (which are not even a lot to begin with), all but taskmgr and explorer... this did make the game run smoothly. Found out that it uses 83,000 something KB mem when I checked in Task Manager (compared to abou 30,000 something for Aquawords). It's not one of the greatest puzzle games I've played, but it will keep you entertained, and the background visuals and music are soothing.

This game *was* great. I played two hours without realizing it. Then it started freezing so I closed it. Now any time anyone tries to open it now, it just shows flashing green and black stripes and the computer freezes (my computer is pretty new and I have absolutely no problems with any other games). So it's great when it works but not for me :)

To all those that are having trouble with the downloads from GATD (unable to active bad install), GIVE UP YOUR COMPUTER WHO NEEDS IT BECUASE YOU DON'T DESERVE ONE!! There are simple install instructions that even a child can understand. You are the type of person that would get on the "Are you Smarter then a 5th Grader" and strike out on the first question.

SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. DOWNLOAD
2. EXTRACT ALL FILES TO A FOLDER
3. RUN ACTIVATE.EXE AND WAIT UNTIL YOUR BROWSER OPENS UP SAYING THAT IT'S ACTIVATED
4. RUN SETUP.EXE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION TO INSTALL.

It's that simple.

For those that are getting errors, sorry, this isn't about you. You have a genuine problem. Just tired of seeing the stupid people here.

I enjoyed Lines Delux, which this game is basically the same as, but this game is better with the graphics and the music. The gameplay also has slight variations than Lines delux lacks and also has two game modes that have already been discussed above.

The game installed with no problems and plays well. Nice one MadGears and the GGAotD team, 'thank you very much'. The only thing my kids liked better with the previous similar game when comparing Tropical Puzzle with Lines delux was the animated smiley faces, everything else they thought much better with this game.

To Lori comment #25 you can download several free solitaire games (Silver Klondike Solitaire, Golden Dozen Solitaire, Diamond Spider Solitaire, Spider Solitaire and Amber Pyramids Solitaire) from the following site, together with quite a few other games including action, sports and board games as well as some old FPS (first person shooter) games that have been demoted to freeware because no one would pay for them anymore (Grand Theft auto 1 and 2, Savage, Freespace 2, Starsiege Tribes and the old classic Wolfenstein, which if I'm not mistaken started off the first person shooter genre, and not Doom like some believe; as well as some that have always been freeware and really good such as America's Army (which now has a couple of Co-op maps), and a multiplayer only version of F.E.A.R. a futuristic first person shooter that'll have you on the edge of your seat. There's even a decent racing game called Trackmania Nations, that's like a puzzle game where you make up your track from pieces and then get to race your vehicles. Don't be put off by my poor blurb though as this is an excellent racing game with great graphics and its for free......

Get them all from:

http://www.gametop.com/

However some people consider it an unsave site according to McAfee's site advisor. I've downloaded quite a few excellent games from the home page but have never strayed from the home page and have had no problems over the past year since I discovered this site. When you close your games you do get a link that automatically opens up the home page but this can be closed immediately with no other pop ups by clicking on the X at the top right of the window. You can check out site advisors comments and see for yourself that it actually has people satisfied with this site (the stats dont include me, lol)

http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/gametop.com?suite=false&premium=false&client_ver=ie_2.3.6028.0&client_type=IEPlugin

enjoy the card games Lori:)

I have downloaded this game to...can play on the one mode but not adventure myself either. I have Windows Vista with this new computer and it won't let me play. I enjoy the other mode but would love the other mode to work. Casey, I'm having same problem myself. No XP mode to switch too as this is brand new computer and no XP on it.
Until Vista gets things 100% together, I guess I'll have to wait and see.

To Anda Lee Price: I'm not sure if this is where your problem lies, but are you making sure you activate it BEFORE running set-up? There's no code needed for today's game, just click, but do it before you actually install the game. It will tell you if it has been successfully activated.

I'm having difficulty opening some of the games I've downloaded. LWhen I've been able to open them they have been 60 minute demos. I have carefully read the instructions in the readme.txt file & cannot find an activation code or have missed what exactly I'm supposed to do. I am new to this so would you please help me out (or even give me a hint)?

Not sure why it's not working for others, it's running fine in XP. Are you using Vista? That's not listed in the system requirements and some of the games have not run properly on Vista. Try the option from Vista to run the game as in XP, some people have had success with previous games that way. Another possibility is what Laura suggested in post #17, make sure Direct X is 8.0 or above.

This is a nice relaxing puzzle game, a little like Lines except easier as it's match three instead of five. An addition is the need to eliminate the blue tiles as well as make matches.

Nice background graphics, a tropical beach with moving waves and palm trees that sway in the breeze. One excellent feature is ambient sound. Go into options and turn music and game sounds all the way down and then turn ambient sound up. This allows you to play while listening to the sounds of ocean waves, a gentle breeze and occasional sea birds. Very nice addition, definitely adds to the relaxing aspect!

If you Put the games on a Memory stick, Cds Rw, Zip disks, Dvd Rw, External Hard Drive. You will have more space on Hard Drive where the OS is, less chane on crashing and more room for the OS to work. This way you can play them from this external Drives, and if it does not play, you can tempory copy files to main drive to play.

Unable to play game in Adventure mode as well. Direct X is fine. Computer is fine. Seems its not a "user error" afterall.
