These programs are not freeware, they're shareware offered for free for one day only on a conditional basis. Conditions being no free tech support, no free upgrades, no commercial use. Very same conditions as the unregistered version of Clickteam's Install Maker Pro.

Versions offered here are the same as you would download and pay for the very next day. That's the point. Programs with executables compiled by unregistered Install Maker Pro are not EVER supposed to sold, no commercial use, same as GOTD.

Remember E-Book Maestro and the downloaders who were angry when told they could never SELL E-Books compiled with the GOTD offer due to the special license agreement of NO COMMERCIAL USE? It's the same thing, think about it. GOTD did absolutely nothing wrong by offering the game for free for one day, the developer is doing wrong by selling the same game on any other day.

Have you seen the graphics Melanie? Calling the clothes the same color as the body isn't what I would call naked. lol

And besides, everyone I know was born naked. And anybody whom tells you differently isn't to be trusted. ;)

I, for one, appreciate those who took time to warn others about the contents of the game, which are not apparent from the dl page. I'm not going to scream about GOTD offering it, but would like to suggest that perhaps in the future, you should consider using a simple "possible offensiveness" warning? Then people can make up their minds before wasting time and effort dl'ing and installing only to find something that they don't want.

Re Pauloparra #42, #43, #45, see #39 JesseB's comment. The screen you were seeing doesn't mean you didn't have a full registered version of the game. What it means is that the developer of the game is using an unregistered version of Install Maker Pro by Clickteam to create the installation file for the game.

Unregisted versions of Install Maker Pro are fully operational but will flash the screen you saw upon installation. Unregistered versions of Install Maker Pro are NOT supposed to be used for commercial purposes, like selling games that had their installation files created with unregistered Install Maker Pro.

That is what JesseB meant when he said this game "isn't completely legal", and he's right ...it's not legal for the developer to be selling those games. As per the license agreement, installation files created with UNregistered Install Maker Pro are supposed to be for personal use or given away as freeware only, NOT for commercial purposes such as selling.

It is late, so I don't expect to get an answer, so I went and downloaded a demo version of Troll, uninstalled the current one and installed the demo. Installation went smoothly and upon running the game, the firt menu with options has a "shareware" stamp right across the top.

So I unistalled again (This time w.o any clickteam references, but in a foreign language) which went very fast. Reinstalled the donwloaded free ( still 30 mi9n left ) and I am certain now that I have the full program and that the clickteam popup is something that everybody gets. Thanks anyway.

You must not have tried the game. It has great gameplay and hilarious bonus levels (trying to knock guys bent over slapping their 'plumber' revealed asses).

The graphics are good, not exceptional (just like on the WII, gameplay is MORE important).

Anyone who says this is no good must not have tried it, or is uncoordinated and can't play this game well.

For free it's a GREAT game, this is one I'd pay for!

I forgot to say that the registered version of Install Maker Pro is not free. After I click ok and the window goes away I get the page that says "Troll activated - What next?" which appears everytime you activate a program. Im very confused.

When I first installed the program if I cleared the 'run troll, I wasn't sure if I followed intructions because nothing told me I was running a registered version, so I unistalled and the unistallations complained about some files write protected. I had the option to unistall anyway so I did. I install it again and right after installation I get a box that I didn't get before that says:

This install program has been created with as unregistered version of Clickteam Install Maker Pro. It cannot be used for commertial use.

This screen does not appear in programs created with a registered version, You can register online on the Clickstream Web site:

I can't tell if my copy of troll is full or just evaluation. Anybosy knows how to tell? Did I screw up and can't get the freebie anymore?

I get so tired of the people without a life, proud because they're the first to send a worthless comment. Other people are encountering King Utereus while the pathetic sit at their computer attempting to be the first daily responder to this website. Great website, great concept. I don't really understand how the giveaway webmasters tolerate the ignorance of the novice users: "it is a demo;" "it won't authenticate;" "I know some program better because I've never encountered utereus." Having said all that, this game really sucks. But, you only have to hit .300 to stay in the majors.

This is a cool game and if I had the time to play games I would buy it. I think this is a nice twist to the concept.

The games given away are ALMOST always better giveaways than the 'program' s/w given away everyday.

My only complaint with the game is that the installation file is not to be used for commercial use and it is so technically the program isn't completely legal. Oh well I don't really care but just a fyi. Also scanned no spyware/viruses at all.

I've been enjoying the game even w/o the instructions. - Thanks "Webby" for your info ... Now I'll see if I can do any better. It's more complex than I expected and it will take some time to progress very far. - BTW - It downloaded/activated/installed w/o any problems, using the "Un-offical" GOTD Launcher. A fun game that worked on our oldest pc too. Took me a little bit to figure out to click on the site with the swords on the map to start it...Thanks!!

Well, all you jaded naysayers should go chomp on something to sweeten your dispositions. I have enjoyed this game very much. It is the first one I've seen where the hero has the added anxiety of watching his flock get pounded while he is trying to fend off attacks. I like the music and enjoy the graphics. I didn't see the naked men running around, but if I had, I wouldn't be offended by cartoon nudity. As long as they were running on two legs and not three. I think the game is a keeper. Thanks to the developer! and thanks to this site for making it available.

Oops ... Should have confirmed previous poster comment about needing to create your new character before you play. Plus I forgot to say that once you've opened the 'Documentation' file within the 'Troll folder - you then have to click on the 'Help' button on the left of the screen to see the playing instructions. Lastly, if you've downloaded and installed it correctly (and in time today) you've already got the full version, so you can ignore anything that implies you have a demo and talks about buying the full version.

It's silly but fun. Yes, teeny tiny, cartoon style, headless, naked men do lurch out of the castles gates, but surely nobody's really found them offensive? Have they..? Really...?? Oh well. As for no instructions - Open the 'Documentation' file contained in the 'Troll' folder - they're all there. Still, if instructions aren't your scene, simply click on any crossed swords you can see on the map and try it from there.

Well the graphics and humor couldn't be called sophomoric, it doesn't quite reach that high. More like "middle school boy".

But hey, this site tries to offer games that appeal to a wide audience. So today's selection should appeal to middle school boys. ::shrug::

I actually really like this game. What fun! I've never cared much for Arkanoid games before, but this one is fun because you actually feel like you're defending the village, as opposed to just mindlessly bouncing a ball against a wall. I've really enjoyed most of the games I've downloaded through this site. And, of course, any top-rated games that you've had available here and there since your inception have been even more greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work, guys!!

Those that can't find directions: When you finish the install, you get an option to visit the website, push the button, you go to the website for this product - push the "help" hot button - guess what, instructions on game play - guess you were too excited about the King's name to figure the hard stuff out
Those that get wrapped up over a name? Grow up - if you don't like it, uninstall and get on with life - geez, geeks and infants, very little diff, eh?

If you don't like the game, that's fine. Please, however, give my poor Dad, King Uterus, a break. After all at least he isn't called King Brooklyn or the likes, and it was my grandparents who came up with his name.

Although I agree with the comments regarding King Uterus, Uterus is a valid medical term which should not be offensive. Also with regards to "this is not suitable for a child" blar blar blar was Game Give-away Of The Day ever promoted as free child's game of the day? No...

Just use your own common sense if you don't think its suitable for your child don't download it but don't witter on about a uterus, also naked man running out of a castle please grow up.

I must delete the game from my computer - I was really enjoying it until the naked man came running out of the castle.

Found some documentation which does not explain how to play, which keys, etc. What I did find was interesting.

If we are supposed to be getting full versions, why is this in the authors docs?:

Can't believe this one....My first download, there are no playing instructions, and the game can only be activated on the day it's given away. This is not a giveaway. If I change computers a week from now, I lose the game. Not that I would play this one again anyway.

This game earns a thumbs down rating from me. The game play is fair. But it is the inclusion of naked character that earns it. Not something my kids need to see.

Looks like everyone is having a bad day today, lol. Am I going to be the only one commenting positively about this great giveaway today. I'm amazed as I'm an arkanoid fan and although I played the demo last year wasn't sure about buying it, till I finished the time limited demo only the other day and thought it was actually not a bad clone. It has some original features, such as the meld of space invaders barriers, that in this game are the villagers houses. As well as some interesting game play features and a novel way of hitting the fireballs that rain down on you from a great selection of castles and mansions. Watch out for the moonies.
I thought the storyline was rather funny myself, and know the kids like this one already. My six year old actually asked what a uterus was when I was playing the game last week; so you could say it's even educational. There's a whole range of humorist games out there and it's a shame that some people have to knock a game because it doesn't tie in with their particular brand of humor.

I was really suprised to see another arkanoid clone that I didn't have because I have most of what's been released over the past three or four years (costing several hundred pounds in total)

With respect to comment #3 El stevo; you will find every game offered is a clone of one or other of the genre's available. there's rarely an original game produced today unless you count games like "Gumboy Crazy Adventures" and "Gish" as original concepts, or the freely available "De Blob" (a college students project that has been released as freeware and one any kid will love. (google it) I can say with some authority (being familiar with most arkanoid/breakout clones that have ever been released, that this particular arkanoid clone is definitely an unusual one. It's nothing like the usual ball and bat game breakout clones, so if you just spend a few moments to get into the game, you may be pleasantly suprised. The only game I've seen that comes remotely close to this arkanoid clone is another freeware game called "Wrecker Ball Dream" by Glinkie Games. You have a similar action with respect to moving a ball around the playing area (in this case using a cock hen to swing rather than the axe of the troll; the game is set inside an hen house. you have to break eggs as well as other things. I'd recommend this game to anyone out there who likes arkanoid games. Just google the name for a link.

This is the first time I have a negative comment. This is game looks like a child did the drawings and the concept. Free is free and I love this site, but with games like this I hope the future is not lost as far as Give away of the day games. I shall pass,needless to say. Hope that there won't be anymore games like this one. Who would pay even a penny for a game like this.

I will pass on this one because of the name of the King in it . what an awful name to give anyone why you would think the guy was a--- ,naw I better not go there. so far most of the games I have downloaded are good to keep . the daughter likes to play most of them and I have been mesmerized by a few my self.
