Thanks to the Moderator for actually caring about other people's children.
Also, while this type of game may not be to everyones taste (what is?) many
people love them.
Please continue to provide the very generous service and give us any free games that you are able. 99.9% of the visitors to this site much appreciate it.
Personally I find this type of game gets too difficult too quickly (maybe my reactions aren't what they used to be!)

Thank you for your comment Mickram. I know what you mean. My vehicles kept crashing. just wasn't fast enought to move them sometimes.

ToomkyGames.com: Although I have gotten games from this site in the past I would no longer recommend the site. I didn't get all the garbage listed by Glenrd but the last few times I tried to pick up some puzzles from there I got warnings from my virus software which blocked malware generators....3 on one game alone. Shame because I do have some nice games I have gotten in the past from this site. Another site to stay away from is GamesGoFree, they hijack the games when you open it the second time and try to make you pay for free games (looks like a lot were jacked from MyPlayCity), now if you know what you are doing you can go into the file and delete that stuff and open the game directly with the game engine executable but still I would stay away from there also. Looking forward to tomorrows game and hoping it is one that is new to me! :D

The site says the games are free because of advertising. Does that mean advertising on their site or ads inserted into the games? I couldn't find out!

Cannot imagine someone be comming so emotionally involved with a little children's game that they would actually spout obscenities in their rage? But apparently it happened.

Yes, Thank you Brian! Always looking for free games. Much appreciated.
Regarding todays game. Almost 3/4 of a gig sounds like a lot to me and I really don't care for the adroid type games. I prefer desk top. Over a couple of years though I must say I've downloaded many games and enjoyed hours of mindless relaxation due to this great site. The explanation of the game helps a great deal and the exhaustive promotion of free games and other sites is above and beyond the call. Thanks to all who contribute comments and Thank you Oh Great White Rabbit! We'll see what tomorrow brings. As long as I'm at it I'm looking for a non-online Texas Holdem game with talking characters. There are so many online games it's really hard to find one like that. Thanks again.

.................................Moderator comment............................

3/4 of a gig is the size of tomorrows game.

I purchased a few Hold Em games via Steam:

Texas Hold 'Em - http://store.steampowered.com/app/8330/ (£1.99) faily basic graphic and cartoon like.

Texas Cheat 'Em - http://store.steampowered.com/app/23510/ (£6.99)

There are some others such as Governor of Poker 2 (£6.99) and Governor of Poker premium edition (£14.99) - they are better constructed than the two I've mentioned above. All are single player, plus Texas Cheat 'Em has a multiplaer option as well. All but Texas Hold 'Em have demos available.

Foe comment #5, recommending toomkygames, this is in their FAQ- The following modifications are made during the installation process by default:
The default game location is C:\Program Files (x86)\ToomkyGames.com\ folder (C:\Program Files\ToomkyGames.com\ for Windows XP and earlier);
ToomkyGames toolbar is added to Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome;
The default homepage and search engine are changed for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome;
Software provided by SweetLabs Inc. (OpenCandy®) is installed.

All modifications during the installation process are made only with the consent of the end user. The user can cancel the installation of these modifications by unmarking them during installation process.
They do tell you how to revert back to your old homepage etc.

Sorry, Your Majesty. Since I'm not a native English speaker, I wasn't aware that calling such a piece of excellent game we have here today .............Removed due to unsuitable language.....................(if I remember well) - would be unsuitable for children. Well, perhaps: "...removed due to unsutability...................... (Total Waste of Time)" - will suit this site better?
Have a good day and bring us tomorrow something worth downloading, installing and playing, please. And not necessarily another HOG, though the one from last Sunday wasn't bad.

.............................Moderator comment................................

As I said previously, some of your language was unsuitable. Also in your reply there was no need to be sarcastic. I was only pointing out that this is a family site and that the language you used was unsuitable. So you then go and repeat the words again, not once but twice.

Your sense of entitlement is astounding.

Another of those tap-tap games, intended for a telephone or tablet, and only as an afterthought for a regular computer with keyboard and mouse. More and more of these coming now, most of them just for very small children. This one certainly describes that, and is amusing that it seems worth of such a learned discussion.

I like this game. Only thing missing is some how-to play the game. Perhaps a small text file could be included with the install giving some play methods. However, I think not having a user guide is part of the game. Figuring out how to play it adds to the pleasure of playing it. I use their parking game early in the morning to give my brain a little workout. I'll use traffic control for the same purpose and for problem-solving workout. Thanks Play JoWee and GOTD for this giveaway!

Good find, IngeZ -- I'd searched before under PlayJoWee & never came up with much of anything, but as playmobilefree they have quite a few on the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/search?q=playmobilefree&c=apps&hl=en

Still nothing on Amazon's app store though.

...removed due to unsuitable language........ It would be definitely a huge waste of time (/bandwith/HDD/other PC resources) - to even download it, not mention of the installing.
Your previous giveaway game (Eternal Journey: New Atlantis), though quite huge on dowload (>500MB), at least have some gaming values.
This time: thanks for nothing, GOTD team. Thumbs down!

.............................Moderator comment..................................

I had to remove part of your comment due to its unsuitabile language. This is a family site.

This is a fun time management game to waste a few minutes on. Kids will probably really like this game also. It is very easy to start with but starts to get more difficult as you progress through the levels. The controls are very easy, just click and drag the cars to the correct lane. I do have problems when you have to pick up passengers. I lost a few times on that level. Hopefully I can figure that out after I play some more. You can purchase new cars that will show up in the game and give you more points. The first one was 1,000 coins then the price jumps to 20,000 for the second one. Seems kind of expensive and I didn't play long enough to get the 2nd car yet. Thanks GGOTD!

.............................Moderator Comment...............................

Thank you for your feedback Bryan, much appreciated. I didn't get as far as buying any cars.

Hi Stephen,

I've also noticed that Jenkat is no longer posting free games. Another excellent website for free full version games that is not on your list can be found here: .....................link deleted until checked........................

Best Regards,

Thanks Mark. I will check the site out first to see if it's suitable for posting here. Much appreciated. :)

What is this? 2 roads left and right, cars traveling either way, watch the numbers on the cars? This is the most boring game i've seen yet.

I downloaded from the link above and it installs 'Software Informer' to my computer. I wanted the game not some third party software on my computer.

........................................Moderator comment.............................

Hi KyBunnies

Software Informer is not installed unless you allow it too. (see image below). Once the game is installed and activated a window pops up asking if you want software informer. It's actually quite a useful program I've seen a whole range of reviews about this free software, some good, some bad, it all depends on the opinions of the person writing the review. Basically Software Informer is a safe utility that has been designed specifically for those users who care to keep their applications up to date. It informs you about new versions of the software you use.

Capture

It's clear from the window that appears once the game has been activated that you are given a choice as to whether or not to install Software Informer. You can only install Software Informer if you click on the button that says '
Install Software Informer'.

If you don't want the program installed Instead of clicking install Software Informer you should have clicked the button clearly labelled '
Close'. Doing that would have prevented you installing Software Informer. Sorry you are disappointed. You should be able to uninstal the software via remove program.

Maybe I'll install this on my mobile phone to keep the kids occupied while waiting for the bus or in the doctor's waiting room. (You can find the original in the play store HERE . It looks like the type of game they play. Not my type of game, I'll wait for tomorrow.

Just a very basic review today. For those with slow internet connections, tomorrows game is almost three quarters of a gigabyte.

Traffic Conductor:

In Brief:
Another PlayJoWee Publishing game. This time you move traffic from one lane to another and in some levels collect passengers.

TC 001

TC 002

Installation:

Traffic Conductor downloads to a 42.6 MB zip file and unpacks to a wrapped setup file, a security file (setup.gcd) and a read me doc with the terms and conditions and instructions.

The game installs to:

C:\Games\Traffic Conductor_Game

Once installed the game folder is 158 MB in size. There is no shortcut installed to the desktop noran uninstaller to the start menu. To delete just delete the installed folder.

The Game:

TC 003

TC 005

Another PlayJoWee Publishing game and another traffic control game. This time you are faced with moving vehicles from lane to lane, with levels slowly increasing in difficulty.

Sometimes a vehicle will stop and you have to move the next vehicle in that lane to the next lane even though it's in the correct lane. If you don't there will be a crash and you lose the level. If you fail to move a vehicle to the correct lane (by dragging it with your mouse), you lose points, if you get the vehicle in the correct lane you gain points. There are other puzzles to solve as well for example move passengers to vehicles (though I haven't figured that one yet) and collect cash or solve various numbers of waves.

Traffic Conductor is another basic android game that soon becomes tedious due to little difference in game play over the sections you get. At least you can play it in full screen if you wish via the configuration window that starts the game. :)

TC 008

TC 006

TC 004

TC 009

No conclusion or score today.

Problems:

If you have any problems installing or getting to work today's game please go HERE for help. I've posted all of the common problems and solutions in a FAQ thread, which you can find in the sticky section of the forums by following the above link.

If you are posting late in the day I would also suggest posting in the main giveaway forums, in the game discussion section because I cannot moderate 24hrs a day over the weekend. I've created a thread HERE for that purpose. If you've installed the game but it won’t work for some reason, it should still be registered, so someone may be able to help at another time. Unfortunately if your problem is actually installing it then once the giveaway period is over there’s nothing that can be done until the game is given away again (though that isn't guaranteed). Sometimes you can still register the game after the giveaway has ended so long as you managed to start the download before the giveaway ends. I've tested this and sometimes the grace period lasts for up to 2 hours, but more often than not 1 hour is the norm.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Games, Games, and yet more Games plus Download, Installation & Game play Problems:

There are 385 games on sale over on Steam this week, ranging from 10% to 90% off. There's also a 10th anniversary sale of 2K games this week with up to 80% off publishers prices (including a game pack with 21 of their best games costing only £34.50 and including all of the Bioshock games, Sid Meiers games, Mafia II, Borderlands I & II, SpecOps: The Line, Darkness II, The Beaurau: XCom declassified, XCom Enemy Unknown and Duke Nukem Forever, You can find a full list of all sale items HERE.

You'll also find some excellent deals over on the following Game sites.

GreenManGaming
Gamersgate Summer Sale
GOG (DRM free games)
Desura
Gamestop
GameFly (soon to be sold off)

Free Game Sites:

Jenkat Games (Jenkat have changed their policy, most )if not all) of their games are trials and you have to download the iWin game manager. Apparently the are going to be developing their own games from this summer. You can read details in the game discussion forums started by Dragonlair. Once I've clarified this i may have to remove Jenkat from this list.
MyPlayCity (over a 1000 games to choose from)
Gametop
FreeGamePick

To be honest there are too many game deals around too list them all. Just visit the sites I recommend above and I'm sure you'll find something that suits you for a very decent price. If like me you prefer Steamworks games, many of the above sites also sell steamwork games.

If that's not enough, check out the Game Discussion forums HERE for details of other games either free or on deals such as the Indie Game bundles (there's over 20 of them - If you purchased all of them you'd be paying around $80 for around a thousand dollars worth of games); or check out the four day sales at IndieGameStand. you'll find the indie bundles thread HERE. The thread is outdated, but all of the links will still take you to the latest bundles.

The latest IndieGameStand game is Boot Hill Heroes. fuses elements of spaghetti western film - gunslinging outlaws, brave lawmen, and the untamed wilderness - with classic RPG storyline and gameplay. 90s console RPGs like Final Fantasy, Earthbound and Chrono Trigger created lasting memories and impacted us as gamers. Now, Boot Hill Heroes brings back those experiences while revitalizing the genre with a Wild West spin and innovative new gameplay elements.

It's an experimental combination of old and new ideas intended to bring a new and unique experience to modern gamers and old-school fans alike. It's an epic Wild West adventure packed with excitement, intrigue and a dose of humor. You get a Steam key for both the game and dlc.

If you pay over the average, which at the time of writing was $1.81 you will get a dlc for the game. You can pay as little as $1 for the game if you wish. This bundle ends around 5am (GMT) Monday 23rd March.

The latest Daily Indie game is called Aquarius: (we had this as a giveaway a few months ago)

'Wheel and deal in outer space!
Fight pirates, trade over 200 items in a widely varied universe.'

Become a galactic merchant with ever-changing market conditions, side deals, investing in galactic businesses, battle space pirates and more! You can get two keys if you pay more than the average of $1.09 (at the time of writing); one key to share with a friend or family member perhaps?. You'll find that deal HERE. They also have four bundles of several games that'll cost you less than $1.50 each HERE (DIG Bundles 22, 23, 24 and Desura 3). You get Steam keys for all of these games (apart from the Desura bundle). The single game deal ends Midnight Sunday 22nd March and will be replaced with

Most of the other bundles retail for around $5 give or take a few dollars (apart from the Daily Indie bundles that only cost $1.49 for six games), but you can pay as little as a dollar for some.
The free game from Origin has changed to the original Syndicate from 1993. It's been optimised for todays computers. Well woprth getting, especially if you are into classic games from the 1990's Check it out HERE

A Request for helpl>:

Developers rely on good feedback to improve their games. If you download this game please take some time once you’ve played it a while to leave some constructive feedback either positive or negative. The more constructive feedback we get, the more likely developers are going to give more games away. The giveaway site already has a very good standing with the search engines. Developers want their products out there on the WWW, this site has the potential to do that. The game giveaway project gives away on average between 9 to 17 thousand downloads for each game depending upon what genre and how obscure the game is. That’s a lot of homes these games are being downloaded into and a lot of 'potential' cash that’s being lost by the developers. If we get better games because of better feedback, the community are likely to continue to benefit from the generosity of the developers. Satisfied community members are then more likely to visit the home sites of those developers and purchase games that they may not have bothered with before they discovered the developer via the game giveaway site, thus giving the developers more incentives to give away even more decent games.

Please leave some feedback once you’ve checked the game out. It can be positive or negative, but please explain what your reasons were for the feedback you post. You could also leave suggestions for improving the game, for example, this game could do with more block types for the levels editor, add more power-ups, describing the ones you think would be suitable, add some mini games (which seem all the rage in some arcade games now) or enable the user to be able to change the in game music easily.

Thank you in advance to all those who take the time to post a constructive comment.

Regards

Whiterabbit aka Stephen
