The Old Kazulka is another SovKey game that uses free assets to create a poorly conceived version of a breakout game. As mentioned previously, SovKey has had several games removed from Steam for various reasons (deleting negative reviews, false advertising, and posting false reviews to name just a few). The developer keeps creating new accounts with different developer and distributor names as is the case with this game. Also, if you click on the VK link from the main menu, the account has been suspended due to the admin changing the subject matter.

Breakouts are one of my favorite arcade genres; I've played hundreds of them since the very first one was created back in the mid to late 1970's and this would rank among the bottom 10 or so I've played over the years. There's no challenge and levels are very similar throughout. Also, there are no power ups to spice the game up, there's little variation between brick types (I only saw two different bricks over the levels I played), the ball speed remains constant at an excruciatingly slow pace, the bat has no real control over the way the ball bounces off it and to get you last brick can take several minutes due to the lack of bat and ball control. There's also no apparent save feature. After closing the game down, I restarted to see if it took me to the level I finished on, but it started from the beginning again. Apparently there are cheats to skip levels by pressing F1. If you find the level cheats, this wouldn't be a problem; however, from experiencing this type of level cheat system previously, it's not an ideal way to skip levels. There are far better free breakouts out there on the web, both downloadable versions and browser versions.

I posted a thread over in the forums that lists loads of free arkanoids as well as ones I recommend, though there has been some excellent releases over the intervening years. You can find that thread, posted 11 years ago HERE. Some of the links may no longer be working, but googling the names of the games, you should find them easily. There's a second thread started by Pixiey and expanded by Delenn . Also, Caimans has almost 200 free 2D and 3D arkanoid/breakouts, many of which are much better than today's game. You'll find the 2D breakout section (169 games) and the 3D section (30).
