The Game:
The Joy of Farming is a rather typical casual time management game that comes with the same theme as many other similar casual games: developing and managing a farm. So it has from the start a rather important disadvantage: you can find other farm-themed time management casual games quite easily.

Anyway, despite the aforementioned issue, The Joy of Farming shouldn't be disregarded completely. It comes with a couple of cool, original features that deserve mentioning. For example, it looks visually original, as it uses a side-view perspective, which adds the challenge of equipping your farm with ropes and ladders so your workers can fetch water and take their harvest to the storehouse.

Anyway, the graphics aren't only quite unique, but also really appealing. They're cartoon-ish, with cute characters that smile all the time, and are more suitable for kids, but no one would expect otherwise from such a casual game.

As for the gameplay, thanks to the special side-view perspective, playing The Joy of Farming can get quite exciting and addictive. Unlike many other time management casual games that can easily get repetitive and boring, The Joy of Farming is a pleasant experience even when played for more than a couple of minutes.

To sum it all up, The Joy of Farming is a really interesting casual farm-themed game that comes with a special visual perspective and a really captivating gameplay.

Conclusion:
Due to circumstances at this time, I've only had time (again) to briefly check out the game and basically agree with what I originally said three years ago with reference to this game compared to it's Isometric/3D version, Farm Frenzy. Of all time management games, the Farm Frenzy series (at least the first few) are the only TM games I enjoy playing for any extended periods. Gaming for me is mainly relaxation therapy and pain management therapy through distraction therapy, so having to complete levels within a limited time is really no fun for me. That said, The Joy of Farming was okay, though nowhere near as good as that other farming time management simulator Farm Frenzy (IMO). The only significant differences I could see between the two games was that Farm Frenzy had a much better graphic and was in a simulated 3D environment; whereas, The Joy of Farming was in a pure 2D environment with each layer of the game, i.e. the farmers fields, the shop etc were on what appeared to be a platform; in fact, when I first saw images of this game three years ago I thought it was going to be a platformer and not a time management game..

I've had virtually no sleep for the past week; grabbing the odd hour here and there because our dwarf rabbit took a turn for the worse. Our vet wanted to put him to sleep, but we had researched the issue and so long as he was fed hourly and we treated him with various medications, there was a chance that he could recover. We stuck to the hourly feeds until a few days ago and have now moved to two hourly and he seems to have turned a corner and has been steadily improving though he's not 100% yet. He comes to us regularly for his food which is a good sign as he was refusing food last week. We've also got him a new partner because we couldn't bear seeing him alone. Rabbits are social animals and it's cruel to keep them as a single pet; we lost his long time friend several weeks ago, and are at this time seeing if the new rabbit, that is a couple of years younger, will bond.

I will be moderating sporadically later today. I've been up all night taking the night shift with the rabbits, so that my partner could get a full nights sleep, so I'll probably sleep for several hours around the time this game goes live. Nessie the male rabbit has to be hand fed because he cannot chew solid food due to a benign tumour on his jaw, (that has displaced it slightly). . He's approaching 11 years old, so is probably coming to the twilight of his life, but we want him to have the best possible life he can. We don't keep the rabbits in cages, they have the garage and one smallish room (12' x 12'); plus he's allowed to wander around most of the house when the cat is out. Since his illness we have kept the door to our main family room open so he has more room to wander., thankfully all our floors are oak and marble with rugs, so it's easy to clean up the odd accident.

If I have time I'll post my usual section of the best game deals, in the mean time, check the game discussion forums for the latest.

I am so sorry to hear about your bunnies!! I have known you o here for a pretty long time and really care about anything going on with you and your family. Thank you so much for sharing your world with us!! I know how much you love the farm frenzy games so if you say this one is not too bad, it makes me want to try this even though Im not keen on them, your deals you post are always appreciated and I do hope your one continues to recover and your older bun as happy times as you and your family take such good care. I love bunnies, cant have one due to my health is cruddy but I do live through others!! Plus we have a one animal only kitty rescue that would not enjoy a friend....lol shes the best though...personality galore!! My thoughts are with you and as a fellow chronic pain sufferer (not sure how much you recall of me) I am so thankful for games, they do help distract....take care and get some rest!! As always thank you so much for all the hard work you do and the people here at Game Giveaway!! Pixiey

Pixieydust,

Hi Pixieydust,

Yes I remember you; how could I forget such a name (despite my memory issues). I love anything that is to do with fantastical beings such as Pixies, fairies, hob goblins, elves, etc ( I've got a fantastic large format book of illustrations that covers the world of faerie called ''Brian Froud's World of Faerie''.

Sorry to hear about your rabbit. Maybe he is still mourning the loss of his friend. We had two chihuahuas and the male died. The female grieved for a long time. She would not eat, laid around all day. But, finally she was back to normal. Sadly a year later she died. Then it was our turn to mourn. Pets become family, and it's hard to let them go. I'll keep your family in my prayers. GOD bless you. Don't worry about these reviews. Life will go on.

Jimmy Moon,

Yes, that's possible. Before we introduced his new companion last week, we stayed up with him every night since his partner passed several weeks ago. I woke up a few weeks ago with him laying on my chest and. licking my chin.

As yet we don't know whether they will bond.
