The Game:
There are seven different rifles to choose from starting with the M24 bolt action rifle that is your default weapon. It's got the lowest zoom, power ammo capacity and stability of all the weapons available in game. To get better weapons you have to earn cash; the cheapest weapon to buy is the Dragunov sniper rifle that costs $4000 and has a zoom scope of x4 magnification, a power of 65, a magazine of 2 bullets and a stability (the effective range) of 15 meters. If you want to get the best weapon for range and power (i.e. the penetration of the bullet) you'd need to save $15000 to get the AR25 - Eliminator edition that has a scope with a zoom of x12, a power rating of 130 (double the default weapons power), is stable up to 50 meters and has a magazine capacity of 10 bullets. (Ideal if you are shooting at a herd of animals as it will give you the opportunity to down more than one or two animals without having to reload). Other rifles you'll be able to use include the Badger Hunter's rifle, Scout SSG07, Magnum Hunter's Edition and the SCAR 35 Mod.

If you click on the more and rate buttons via the main menu, your browser will open to the developers Google play page where you can see what other games he has to offer and be able to rate the game; (though most of his games will be found on Itch.io HERE). Clicking on these buttons will drop your game to the task bar. There appears to be no exit button to leave the game; so, to close the game down use then Alt Tab command to drop the game to the task bar, then hover over the games icon in the task bar and click on the X in the top right.

On starting the game your first task is a stag hunt which includes eight levels to complete. Each level gives you certain objectives to attain, for example your first level asks you to bag two stags and upgrade your weapon for better performance.

Each level is timed and I found it impossible to be able to complete all the tasks in the first level because to upgrade your weapon you require $4000 to get your first upgrade from the M24 to the Dragunov plus only one stag was visible in the first level, which earned me $600 once I'd finally completed the level. When I first saw this was going to be a giveaway I thought it was an open world game but it's more like a rail shooter, where you are stuck in one place and have to wait until animals come into view. Personally, if you want to play a good hunting game I highly recommend the free to play theHunter: Classic that is totally free to play with no paid for DLC and although not quite as good as the paid for theHunter: Call of the Wild™, is in some ways better because you get all of the reserves to explore right from the outset at no cost, whereas with Call of the Wild you only get two reserves with the base game. That said, if you want a hunting game where you don't have to think about tracking, what weapon to use, setting your scope to allow for bullet drop or wind direction, building hunting structures and various types of hides (tripods, tree blinds, ground blinds etc) as well as using callers and scents to attract or mask your presence and be able to explore vast area's of HD quality wilderness in (in first person view while walking or running or both First and Third Person on an ATV) in places like the Yukon, European forests, The Russian Steppes, The American Rocky Mountains, Arid South American reserves, Spanish farmland and a few other environments, then todays game is an ideal introduction to the world of game (in both sense's) hunting. The graphic in todays game is acceptable (though nowhere near the quality of the Classic Hunter game I mentioned above), the weapon models are okay, the game play is acceptable and more importantly, today it is free until tomorrow (Wednesday) morning when it will then cost you $5 via Itch.io. (When Call of the wild is on sale it's only an extra couple of dollars more than this game, but includes so much more.

I would suggest to the developer that they change the task descriptions so that you can actually attain them at your first try. With the first level I was able to kill one stag immediately, but saw no others by the time ran out to complete the level; it took over ten tries before I finally spotted the second stag, which was in the background and often obscured by snow or trees. It would be nice to have an untimed mode and fix the results section. Even though I killed a stag, in the results it said no kills. Also, each time I started again, despite earning
$25 for a body shot (it always says body shot, even if you hit the head), when I restarted it all the cash I'd earned was lost. This makes it very difficult to earn enough to complete the second task in the first level which is to upgrade your weapon. Actually, it's impossible because to upgrade costs you $4000, but it's impossible to earn that in the first level.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found one hit (Zillya) from 59 antimalware engines. Zillya is one of the engines that is commonly seen. Th e result isn't significant and most likely a false positive. The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed). The installation does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page when the game has been installed, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free.
