I didn't get to bed until after 6am this morning (baby sitting our mourning dwarf rabbit) and slept through until 3pm.

I did install and play the game for about 30 minutes (not enough time to get enough information to write a review), but I will say, this is an excellent hidden object game, with lots of puzzles to solve that are original and entertaining. I found the game very immersive and despite not really liking HOG's, actually loved playing this one and will be exploring it further over the coming weeks. The Fog: Trap for Moths should keep you entertained for many hours. My advice download and install it now.

Even though we have got this from MyPlayCity (MPC), it's not actually available from the site directly. I've posted a link to the Virus Total security scan, which found two hits (almost certainly false positives), but 60 other anti malware suites found the game clean. Bear in mind the scan was performed on a zipped copy of the installed game. The two hits are probably picking up the low level adware that all games from free game sites like MPC include. They do not inject any malware onto your system. I've been installing MPC games for years and have never had any security issues with them.

In Brief:
The Fog: Trap for Moths was given away on December 30, 2018 where it received a positive 94% from 32 votes with 32 comments which you can see HERE.

There are a few videos of game play available HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
A cloaked figure drags road spikes across a dark highway, causing a mother to crash. When she regains consciousness, her young daughter is gone from the seat beside her. As the mother searches the adjoining woods, she comes to an abandoned house containing evidence of a mysterious tragedy that struck the family that lived there, and details about a strange fog that crept out of a nearby military base.

What macabre threads tie these seemingly unrelated events into a single, terrifying story? To find out, play The Fog, a captivating hidden object game with more than a few surprises lurking along its misty paths. As you search the blood-smeared corridors of an empty hospital and the decayed remnants of a demolished military base, you'll search for useful items, solve cleverly designed puzzles, and play mini-games unlike any you have encountered. When fear threatens to overcome you, and you want to turn back, remember: the answer to the mystery lies within the haze.

Key features:

• Captivating storyline
• Mind-blowing cinematics
• Challenging HOG scenes
• Cleverly designed puzzles
• Atmospheric locations

The Game:
I'll add some information when I've had time to play the game. The last time this was given away I'd had one of my Steam accounts hacked and to be sure there wasn't any key loggers on my computer, I decided to format and then reinstall Windows; so, never got around to posting a review, or for that matter getting the game. Unfortunately it's not available directly from MyPlayCity (MPC) at the moment; though the MPC version will be available via this site later today. Because of this I wasn't able to prepare a review beforehand.

The following is a very short review of the game from the 'How Long To Beat' web site:

Tough to rate. It's got a ton of hidden object scenes and some puzzles I've not seen before but the story's a bit of a mess. The main problem is there are just so many rooms but the map is useless. It indicates rooms with objectives but the rooms aren't labelled and there's no fast travel. You end up just using the hint button to find the next room you need. It's got a lot of content to it though and I'm pretty sure I got it for free so a lot of bang for no buck.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found two hits (Zillya & Zoner) from 62 antimalware engines. These are insignificant and are the same ones that always seem to crop up with these games. The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed). The installation does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page when the game has been installed, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

The latest free games from Epic Games are Nioh: The Complete Edition - Ready to die? Experience the first version of the brutal action game from Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo Games. In the age of samurai, a lone traveler lands on the shores of Japan. He must fight his way through the vicious warriors and supernatural Yokai that infest the land in order to find that which he seeks. Also a giveaway this week is Sheltered, a post-apocalyptic disaster management game that gives a whole new meaning to the term “nuclear family”. Given a head-start over the billions lost in a nuclear holocaust, you must gather as many supplies as possible en route to the concrete underground shelter that will soon become your family home for the foreseeable dreary future.

From next Thursday we will be getting Speed Brawl, a 2D combat-racer about moving fast and hitting hard! Maintain your momentum, build combos, and unleash powerful moves. Find your own fighting style, and assemble the best team of brawlers ever seen. Then do it all again faster. Faster. FASTER! plus Tharsis, a turn-based space strategy game. With dice. And cannibalism. It puts you in control of humanity’s first mission to Mars, just as it’s struck by a micrometeorite storm.

Indie Gala have added more games to their showcase section HERE, e.g. Crazy Space Pirate, Pirate Codex, DreamTime, Project Restart, A Maze In Opportunity, Mirage Online Classic, In the world unknown, Dissociation, The little witch Edwina, Hard Place and another Leisure Suit Larry adventure. All but volumes 6 & 7 have now been removed from the free section.

The latest Humble Choice bundle went live Tuesday afternoon; If you have the original subscription before it changed from the Humble Monthly to the Humble Choice bundle you get the following 12 games plus a DRM free arcade game called Sluggish Morss Pattern Circus.
There are different subscriptions available, all of which can be suspended each month if you don't think the games in the bundle are worth it. This months bundle would set you back £211.68 (approx $290) if you purchased all of the games and includes PGA Tour 2K21 (£49.99), Neon Abyss (£15.99), Not For Broadcast (£19.49}, RÖKI (£19.49), Narita Boy (£19.99), West of Dead (£15.49), Atomicrops (£11.39), Heaven's Vault (£19.99), Swag and Sorcery (£9.99), Fort Triumph (£15.49), Orwell: Ignorance is Strength (£7.19) and Framed Collection (£7.19). For me, just the cost of Swag & Sorcery takes care of the cost of the whole bundle (it cost me £8.72 for the bundle) so I'm very pleased with this months choice, especially as several were on my wish list. The last one I already had, so gave it to a friend.

The extra game is a weird graphic oriented game on the lines of those Amanita Design games such as Samorost 1 (free on Steam) and Samorost 2, Machinarium and Rocket man, but is much more psychedelic and wacky. (If you get the bundle make sure you turn down the volume when playing Sluggish Morss Pattern Circus as it's rather jarring in places, but fits the game.

I turned off MalwareBytes to be able to install the game.
However the next day MB scan found the installed PuP and removed it.
When the game is started, the delay box trying to get you to go checkout a new game remains a blank white box.
Now we know the redirect to the MPC site upon game closure is not what MB is objecting to.
However the game still works.

I tried this, but the first hidden object seen was so dark that I couldn't see half the objects.

Regretfully uninstalled.

jeanne , hi .
I had the same problem a few years back . I've discovered that the program "Privacy Badger" was the cause of the problem . I've disable it on GOOD pages and never had a problem since .
So , if you have installed this or a similar program , disable it .
If that doesn't work , try disabling your pop-up blocker .

A keeper! I liked this game before, and will play it again.

I may have missed a discussion---but what has happened with MPC? Are they no longer offering any HOGs? Does anyone know? Excuse me if this has already been covered...
