My first game download and was worth it. I love playing any tetris game. The graphic and music are awesome and enjoyable. Thanks GGAOTD (game giveaway of the day).

I'm new to this. Thanks for the game! It asks for a registration key. I didn't see one in the readme file. Did I miss it?

#39. i just went to look at speedbit.com and my virus checker said not good. What is DAP? I'd love to make downloading faster.

#21, try DAP to make downloads faster. I can get most in about 30 min at 48k. http://www.speedbit.com/

I would try it, but I'm not big on tetris and I'm thinking another clone may show up here or I can get the freeware listed in the comments.

Thanks again for a list of alternatives.

This is a nice, addictive addition to my already bursting HD - I love these "old lady" games, as I call 'em. Happy with the mouse support, as well. Thanks again, GAOTD, for procuring a fun title and setting it free!

This is a pretty nice tetris remake. I like the graphics and the music isn't annoying. Installed without a problem. I like that it has little surprise bonuses to help you out. The difficulty isn't too easy and it quickly becomes a challenge after the 3 level.

As far as people crying because they would lose the games if they reformat their harddrives...well that is one way the company hopes to make some money on this...get you hooked on the game and if you lose it you might be willing to pay the money for the actual game. Almost every single person has formatted their harddrives or need to, so they are pretty sure to get a few people willing to purchase the game which is great for companies (I'm a capitalist at heart)if the people end up losing it. Course with all the games being offered by gaotd I'm so overwelmed with games that i could lose all of them and still never worry about it with all the free ones they give away everyday. thanks goatd for being the first really free site to offer a full game download without any strings attached....I hope you end up with a site that is hit by more people then anyother..you deserve it.

You should be able to move sideways just by moving the mouse left and right. I think I prefer playing it with just the mouse.

I've not actually played Tetris since having one of those blocky Game Boys from the early 90's. It was stolen and that's the last time I played Tetris. So this will be a great retro feel for me. The graphics nice and the ability to change the blocks and the different styles of game play are great. No problems installing as usual. My kids instantly took up the challenge and happily spent half an hour each competing to see who did the best. Thank you for the game

Quote #23#

I can’t believe all the negative comments - if you don’t want it don’t download it! I find it worth the time. This is they kind of puzzles I love myself and I have enough brains to know it’s not everyones cup-of-tea. It’s worth the price, and I find I do trust these downloads a bit more than the ‘free’ stuff since I’m always finding malware/spyware buried in with a great deal of that. Thanks for offering these games.

You hit the nail right on the head. I couldn't agree more with all the neg. comments. Like you said, if ya don't like or want it, then stay away from it.
I'll take it a step even farther. Does anyone realize that, GAOTD. does not make any of the software that is given freely here ? I happen to be more then greatfull to GAOTD. and the software makers that makes these things free, even if it were only a few hours out of the day.
Keep up the great work GAOTD. :) I for one am greatfull for all you do for us.

I like Tetris, so obviously I like this game. I like having the option of using either the arrow keys or the mouse to control game play, and both seem equally easy.

Thanks for your response. The mouse is great for straight up and down and for turning the pieces but can't move side to side with the mouse. Anyone else have any ideas to mave manuevering the pieces easier then the arrow keys AND the mouse? Thx for your help.

Contrary to the specs listed above this does not require a 3D video card, it does run (slowly) on my ol' compaq armada1700 with a DX6 compatable 2MByte C&T 65555 with DX9c installed but it does run without any errors.

Description says "each of three game types are available two variations: Classic & Original." That seems to suggest there's six ways to play but there's really only three choices - Classic, Color Blocks and Rotated Color Blocks, - no additional choices after choosing one of those three. Classic plays like regular Tetris, sometimes bonuses or anti-bonuses flash on screen, activate them by touching with falling pieces. In Color Bocks you don't create solid lines to make rows disappear, instead you change order of block colors on falling pieces and have to match three or more colors, matched colors disappear. Rotated Color Blocks is the same, with the exception that parts of game pieces break off after falling.

Options for sound FX and music on/off, full screen or windowed, how many types of blocks (1 through 5), and dynamic background on/off. Dynamic background "on" makes water and other parts of background move, "off" and background is still. Default for full screen is "on", some have mentioned this messes with multi monitor setups. But it can be easily changed before ever opening the game. At the end of installation uncheck the box to open game immediately. In Windows Explorer go to the game's main folder and find it's config.ini file. Open that file with notepad, look for the line btnFullScreen=1 and change the value 1 to a 0 (zero, not capital letter "O"), save the change and game will open the first time as windowed.

Play is either entirely mouse or keyboard, or combination mouse + keyboard as preferred. There's no explanation of controls within the game, it shouldn't have been too hard to put a simple list in there but they didn't. So here's a list:

Classic, with Keyboard:
Up arrow - Rotates piece
Side arrows - Move piece side to side
Down arrow - Increase falling speed of piece

Classic, with Mouse:
Mouse movement - Move piece side to side
Right click - Rotates piece
Left click - Increase falling speed

Color Blocks or Rotated Color Blocks, with Keyboard:
Up arrow - Change color order of blocks
Side arrows - Move piece side to side
Down arrow - Increase falling speed

Color Blocks or Rotated Color Blocks, with Mouse:
Mouse movement - Move piece side to side
Right click - Change color order of blocks on piece
Left click - Increase falling speed

AXYSoft seems prone to the "3D" games that are really 2D games with 3D graphics. I didn't like this one. The response was sluggish, and while I rapidly decided that the mouse was not the tool to use, the keys weren't much better. As for the color blocks variations, what's the point if you can't change the bar orientation like this -|?

I'm deleting this one, and I tend to collect tetris variations.

Excellent game. Thank you.

@RIA

It is possible to use just the mouse. Left button increases the speed, right button rotates and move sideways to move the blocks.

This is my first comment. Been around here for a while and check out many of the games and applications. Many I don't download because they are too large (on dial-up) or the negative comments turn me away. This one I did and I am glad. I love Tetris and always have! This is a really good immitation of Tetris and really nice looking too.

Just something else on my computer to keep me from doing any real work! :)

Good game but awkward to have to turn the pieces by right clicking the mouse and then using arrows to move the piece from side to side. Is there an easier way that I am not aware of?

When I see "3D" in a title, I think the gameplay is 3D. It looks like it's still 2D Tetris, but the blocks have a little extra shading on them. What's so 3D about that?

I like it. Thanks GGAOTD. However, it is identical to many similar clones of these Tetris-like games (Tetris 4000, Tetpic5000, Tetris 5000, Terminal Tetris, etc.).

For a list of these look here:
http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best/tetris-5000-3d.html
http://www.download-free-games.com/tetris_download/tetris_4000.htm

It seems, that someone of these little groups made a 3D engine and now other "small companys" are using the same engine for (almost) every 3D animated tetris.

Anyway, nice game.
