T. B. P. (TELEPORTATION BETWEEN PLANETS) - this is a game in which the player needs to navigate through the planets of the corresponding type (so that the other planets are the same as the one on which the rocket is located). Move as fast as possible to set the best score for the number of planets visited in one game cycle. The time given to the player to choose a planet will decrease with each second, so the player needs to make decisions as quickly as possible to achieve the best result.

TBP (Teleportation Between Planets)

In Brief

Today's game was made using the Unity engine. It's basically an image recognition game, that slowly gets faster and faster, and where you have to match the previous image of a planet with the next one. There's a bar like timer on the top left of the screen that tells you how much time you have left; I advise not looking at it because it will cost you a significant amount of the time you have to make a match especially once you get past around 20 matches. When the bar reaches zero, the game ends with a restart button, your score and your best result so far.

This is one of those game that you'll either love or hate. I would suggest that it's also one of those games that if you are able to persevere it could help with concentration and improving reaction times.

Personally I couldn't play more than about 10 minutes before I found it mind numbingly boring.

The latest free game from Epic Games is one we've been given previously called For the King. It's a procedurally generated game with a challenging blend of strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements.

Also available for free this week is the excellent Metro: Last Light Redux which you'll find HERE. (The game is one of my favourite post apocalyptic survival games and second in the Metro series; based on the stories written by the Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky ), The Metro series is the spiritual successors to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series (Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), Clear Skies (2008) and Call of Pripyat (2010). From Thursday afternoon (4pm UK time) we will be getting Halcyon 6 Starbase Commander; a retro space strategy RPG with base building, deep tactical combat, crew management and emergent storytelling.

Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found one hit (Cyclance) from 60 antimalware engines. The downloaded executable includes some low level adware that opens your browser to Falcowares home page once the game has installed, but does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcowares home page it earns them some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free.
