Help two orphans escape an evil spell in Whispered Stories: Sandman, an adventurous tale set in a fantastical world! Only your wits and keen vision can help you on this journey!
Sorry in my earlier comment I said I wished the game had a start button... I obviously had not had enough coffee yet because I meant to say "stop" or "pause" button, so I could walk away to answer the phone without repeating the level. However, I did discover that tabbing out of the game pauses it... problem solved! :)

dear Swamp Thing, it makes me sad that you insulted my country (france).

I spent three days sleeping rough in Paris befor catching a train to Bordeaux to pick up my bicycle; where we then (me and my wife) cycled down into spain. I found the country beautiful, and (apart from French farmers who refused to allow us to help with the grape picking harvest because at the time there was dispute between the British and French farmers) we found people very friendly and helpful. I've got fond memories of some of the people we met on our 2 month cycling vacation. (We eventually ended up in Viana de Costello Portugal, before cycling back to Bordeaux)

Good Game, Nice graphics, don't understand why some of the customers like to take all the food of one item I just stocked... not very realistic, the Trolley should also be customizable of what food was actually put in it to make it more of a challenge.
Its worth $4.99 , the $6.99 on BigFish is a little steep.
Overall Score 74/100

I can't leave an improvement idea above.... it just resets over and over even though I've input all the required info. So have to leave it hear and hope it is seen!
"I would like to... suggest an idea Make it easier to see the product stands...sometimes the customer thought bubbles obscure things like 'cart empty' or empty product stands, or make it difficult to click. Lastly, I'm a firm believer that every game should have a start button. Life is often interrupted- games should not have to be restarted every time that happens. :) Engaging game with plenty of frequent twists, the music is good, and premise simple planning and strategy. Thumbs up!"

I have played this on other sites and loved it. I'm so glad they shared it for free today!
It is a typical TM game, yes, but it has a lot of personality which makes it extra enjoyable.
Thanks again! :)

This is a cute little game. The graphics are nice, although there is room for improvement: fill up the customer's carts and baskets and the walking could me a bit more smoothly. I simply love the way she jumps in the air whenever a level has been accomplished and also the way she puts her head in her hands when you failed the level. I find the sound funny when she walks through the shop with her cart. I played with the music on and that was okay. Usually I play mute, but the music and sounds were not annoying at all. I do favour games which leave room to even though you do not accomplish the goal let you play the next level. It is annoying that you cannot move on. I am stuck at the moment at level 5-5. As Whiterabit already mentioned it is irritating that you have to upgrade certain items again at every new store. The concept of the thieves is nice, but it makes it much harder to accomplish the level. You really have to be quick. So far I enjoyed the game and I will not give up, but for now I'll give it a rest. Overall it is an average time management game. Thank you GGotD and thank you Whiterabbit for your review. I hope your house is getting along real fine.

Very good game. It really works like that in supermarkets except except for the bonus of course. I love that game. It is a nice game not like dash games as it is less stressful and is quite entertaining. I do recommend it to everyone.

Erk--a clarification of my review--I got the first and second game mixed up on it slightly (LOL, Rabbit? You've got some screens up from the 2nd, part of my confuddlement there). The mixing part doesn't come in this game, thankfully! That's the second one. Same with the mother on the cell and the lost kid. That's the second as well. Yeah, I've played this before, but lost it when I switched PCs though I have the second loaded (part of my befuddlement here). It's a fun game I do like, a lot. I'm happy to get it back, actually, and plan to spend a large chunk of the afternoon playing it.
Thanks!

I actually really like this game! It's fast paced, challenging and has good visuals. Towards the end, it does get frustrating because of the the children, especially, and the thieves.
One of my complaints with it is the children part and how they are prone to make it more frustrating than challenging and the fact that some of the things you buy to help you don't carry over to the next level. The having to stop stocking to mix various things is also extremely frustrating and something that can get irksome. Not to mention finding the lost child when the parent is on a cell phone talking (an irl pet peeve of mine).
Overall, the game is good and fun, something that is well worth the download and playtime.

I wasn't really sure if I'd give this game a go. But I did, and I'm glad I did.
It's a relatively simple game, you just click to fill up the shelves of a store before the customers get angry and leave. There might be more to the game, but I haven't played it long enough to know.
For being a simple clicking game, it's a fun one. The graphics are nice and bright, perfect for children. In between bouts of CoD and Battlefield, I can see myself playing this game to chill out. ;)
A great time waster. Would recommend.

I'm tired already just looking at the screenshots! I hate retail, and don't even much like shopping, so this is just too much like real life for me. If I feel the desire to interact with food, I'll go cook something (at my own speed, thank you very much!); there at least I'll have something to show for my efforts. And I can choose who I'll share my "food experiences" (aka meals) with.
As usual, I do appreciate having the option to try the game if I like, and having Rabbit's reviews to help me decide. In this case, I decide to pass.

Well, now, you said it was BETTER than yesterday's game. I guess that is TRUE. There are no lil animals to kill and you don't have to blow up computer moguls and movie stars faces and corpses. That IS better!
BUT BUT BUT (I like big butts and I cannot lie) it's thousands and thousands of lightyears away from FISHDOM (!) and at least one astronomical unit from games that I would consider good. (Maybe 1.2 AUs. It's hard to be exact!)
There is A LOT of clicking in this game! CLICK! CLICK CLICK! CLICK CLICK CLICK! It a PROVEN FACT that a mouse only contains so many clicks. (It's called that "Clickitude Principle.) I don't want to use up all of my mouse's clicks on a game like this.
I'm more interested in the store with the robots in it. ROBOTS are COOL! (Unless they are giant robots who are trying to take over the world. They can have France but the better leave the rest of earth along!) Who would want to shop at a store stacked by people when you can shop at a store stoacked by ROBOTS?

This is fun. I dare anyone to stop at one level. Maybe I might never play it again but it's a lot of fun to play with. It's not complicated at all to play, it's very simple game just using the mouse to click. You don't have to put any effort into learning much at all and things start out easy and get more involved without overloading your mind unnecessarily. SO if you want an amusing little low pressure break from other games like COD Black Ops II or Chessmaster this is a fun choice.

Supermarket Mania:
Installation
Supermarket Maniadownloads to a 49.4 MB zip file (Win version) that unpacks to a read me and a wrapped setup file (the orange colored file with the key symbol), plus there's a setup file with security (setup.gcd) that's protected from being hacked (because the previous giveaway system was easily cracked). This file may case some security software to alert the user to a possible malware attack, but it 'will' be a false positive.
The game giveaway team check all game giveaways for malware using several well known anti -malware suites. There has never been a game giveaway infected with malware since the project started back in Dec 2006. The owners know that allowing such things would compromise their buisness, so they make sure all software given away via the gamegiveaway sites are throughly checked for all types of malware before allowing community members to download any files.
Some community members have been having problems installing games since the security software was added. It's been found that turning off your security temporarily or configuring it to accept the setup.cgd file usually sorts the problem out. Also try right clicking on the oranage colored set up file and select Run as Administrator.
There’s no shortcut installed so make a note of where the game is installed to so that you can manually create a desktop shortcut. The game installs to the following path by default:
C:\Games\SupermarketMania_game
The installed game is 40.4 MB in size.
Works on Win 7 and Win 8. I haven't checked Vista or XP.

The Game
In Supermarket Mania, it's time to earn your salt. The big conglomerate Torg Corporation is everywhere, and so you hesitantly decide to get a job working in the Torg Supermarket as a stock girl. You thought you did so well! Well, Mr, Torg did not agree. After being retrenched and replaced by a team of robots, you are lucky enough to find work for the tiny, run-down grocery store owned by Mr. Clarence. The question is, can you help him defeat his old nemesis and run the best supermarket in town?
Throughout the game, your primary goal is to keep the shelves of the supermarket stocked, so that customers can gather all of the items they require without losing patience. As the customers buy items, the shelves deplete, and need to be restocked. Stocking the shelves is done by clicking on them. A shelf does not need to be completely empty in order to be restocked, so it pays to keep up.
You can fill up five stalls with a full food cart (seven with an upgrade). Once empty, you need to refill your cart. To fill your cart, click on the stockroom and wait until the gauge is full. The cart's stock is shown by a gauge on the lower right side of the screen.
In addition to stocking shelves, you must clean up any trash that might trip your customers, and drop it in the recycle bin. If you want a boost of energy, a cup of coffee will really boost your speed.
Customers are autonomous, and have different patience levels and food preferences. There are also special clients, like movie stars, teenagers, and thieves. Teenagers are usually good shoppers, but sometimes get unruly and create trash around the shop. Thieves never buy food, but walk around thinking about what to steal. If you chase off a thief before he has attempted to steal, he will stop and move onto another food, and continue to wander around your shop. If you catch him in the act (as he snickers, and the image above his head vibrates), you will receive a bonus cash reward, and he's carted off to jail. Both of these miscreants can be dealt with by summoning Mr. Barefist, the burly security guard. When a movie star enters your shop, all other customers will stop to take photos. Movie stars are very impatient and demanding, so you must be sure to keep them happy with well stocked shelves and quick service.
In between each level, you can purchase a variety of upgrades. Many can be carried over as you advance to other stores, like food and cart upgrades. Some upgrades must be purchased again whenever you move to a new store, like the security cameras, and the coffee and gumball vending machines. Still others, like repairing the flooring in your first shop, become obsolete as you move on.
With 50 levels and 5 different shopping centers, Supermarket Mania should only take an experienced player around 4 hours to beat. There are different challenges to play at each level, such as a level where you must catch most of the thieves to win, or a level where you are bombarded with movie stars, so the game keeps itself from becoming monotonous. Even after you've beaten it, you can always go back and replay different levels to try and get all expert scores.

Conclusion:
The games graphics are basic 3D, with comic book style cutscenes, and the music is okay it changes in each of the five supermarkets. The pacing is hectic, but the customers are patient enough to allow the player time to think. While time management is nothing new, it has enough unique twists to prevent itself from becoming cliched.
There are lots of upgrades, but it would have been cool to see more power-ups. Similarly, there is no built-in system for making combos, which would have been a neat addition to add a further challenge. It was also a little annoying that upgrades were lost when you moved on to the next store. I would have liked more variety in the different shops, since most of them had the same atmosphere despite different music and different layouts.
