In Brief:
A checkers (draughts) game with a difference. If you enjoy playing the game of Checkers, this is definitely one to check out.

You can see a video of game play HERE.
The Game:
Another game from Uniden using the Unity engine. The game offers two modes of play Player vs. CPU or a Player vs. Player mode. Also, you can change the traditional 8 x 8 grid game by changing the board size from a 4 x 4 to 96 x 96 (crazy size) and changing the Pawn rows can be from 1 up to 47 depending on how large the board grid is i.e. with a traditional Grid size of 8 x 8 you can have a maximum of 3 rows of pawns. There has always got to be at least two rows clear of pawns whatever size board you decide to play. There are also ten levels of difficulty (for the Player vs. CPU mode). If you wish to finish or resign from the game click on the flag in the top left corner.

Traditionally checkers is usually played on an 8 x 8 grid board and the squares are arranged in eight columns and eight rows of alternating black and white squares. The game is a two player game, who compete against each other, or if like todays giveaway you are playing on a computer, you can play against the games AI. Each player on the traditional sized board receives 12 playing pieces that form three rows of pawns. These are usually flat disks that are placed on black squares. The checkers are two colours, in the case of todays game Black and White, which can be an issue when you start to increase the size of the board because the black disks become almost invisible to see. Both sets of 12 pieces start by being arranged on the first three rows of black squares from opposite ends of the board (assuming you've selected to have two rows); however with Super Checkers you can have many more rows depending on the size of the board you choose to play

The aim of the game is to remove all your opponent's pieces from the board. Use your mouse to move your pieces around the board. If you or your opponent move to a square where you or your opponent can be taken, you have to make the move to take the piece. Trying to move other pieces in this scenario is impossible. In the UK Checkers is commonly called Draughts.
Conclusion:

This is a decent game with lots of options to change the game play by creating vast boards with many rows of pawns. However, creating a board with large numbers of rows and columns especially 96 rows and columns, even on the largest monitors, plus the inability to change the colour of the counters makes for a very hard game to even see what you are doing. You can see from the example I've included with the images below, (see the fourth image below) that a 96 x 96 board effectively makes the black disks invisible, so it would be extremely difficult to play the game effectively. It's a pity there isn't an option that enables you to change the colour of the counters as this could solve the invisibility issue.

That said, this is still an excellent version of the game with so many alternate boards and the ability to create more rows of pawns to extend the game play, plus of course being able to play either with a human player or the computers CPU. This is definitely a keeper for me.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found zero hits from 58 antimalware engines. The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed). The installation does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page when the game has been installed, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Other Free Games:
The latest games from Epic Games include Hell is other Demons an action-platform shooter, with Rogue-lite elements and Overcooked! 2; Journey back to the Onion Kingdom and assemble your team of chefs in classic couch co-op or online play for up to four players. Hold onto your aprons … it’s time to save the world (again!); both will be available next week Thursday 17th June at 4pm UK time/11am EST

Also from Epic, If you play online with friends there's a decent PvE/PvP free FPS game called Scavengers with a coop mode (I checked it out recently and it looks fantastic as well as plays well) and you can still get the clicker RPG Idle Champions as well as other multiplayer games. I've been posting redeemable codes for free chests that contain various buffs and other items for Idle Champions (time limited for 5 to 7 days from the day of posting) over in the forums HERE. They contain various items that boost your heroes abilities and health as well as affect your group of heroes in game, for example potions that boost health or DPS, contracts that can improve armour or weapons already used by the heroes or other contracts that add specific amounts of gold to your bank as well as items of jewellery, armour or weapons that buff your characters stats. I don't usually play clicker type games, but this one is well supported by the developer and has a massive following. I'll be posting codes for as long as I continue to play the game. I've posted some help sheets and links to a game wiki via the above link as well

Please see Delenn's threads for Steam and Non Steam freebies HERE and HERE respectively. Delenn has been updating these regularly for years now. Once added to your account, it’s yours to keep. Delenn has recently posted details of more Steam games that are temporarily free. One may be until it leaves early access??? - i.e. Tower Ball - Incremental Tower Défense plus a reflex game called Keyboard Killers are still free. Delenn posted details of a free origin came called Battlefield 4 which is available for free if you have an Amazon Prime account (If you like FPS games, it's a brilliant game to own. (not sure if it's still live).
To those who contributed to the Indie Bundle for Palestinian Aid over on Itch.io, they raised $899,963.91, which was a great achievement.

You'll find hundreds of freeware games of all arcade and indie genres on Itch.io and Caimans Games as well as other sources. Please do check out the game discussion forums for older posts HERE (the sticky section is useful). Many of the earlier posts may be out of date with respect to the links I and others have provided to the free games; however, you only need to know the name of the game to find most of them via other sources. Many of those games from 2008 to around 2017 were posted as part of a project to supplement the lack of weekday games when the game giveaway went to weekend only games around Easter 2008 (mainly instigated due to the financial crisis of 2008) until November 2018 when Falcoware stepped into the weekday slot; however, from around 2015 onwards we did start to get the occasional Steam key for various games offered as limited giveaways, with a restriction on the number of keys available (anywhere from 25 to 2000+). These included over 60 decent AAA games and indie arcade games ; for example some of the better AAA games included , lucky Warhammer: Vermintide 1 & 2 plus DLC for version 2; Dreadlands, Mount & Blade: Warband, Immortal Unchained and Conan Exiles.

The Indie Gala developers freebies are available HERE (latest additions) and HERE (81 games in the Showcase, most full versions). Recent additions include In Between Land Sonya: The Great Adventure, The Last Dream: Developer's Edition, Deep Despair Cube Runner, Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders, Whispering Willows Snow White Solitaire. Charmed Kingdom, Adam Wolfe (Complete Edition), Doodle Devil Deep Space Anomaly ; plus, many more in the showcase section HERE and the Freebies section HERE.

It’s worth adding these links to your favourites and checking regularly for available freebies. Most are only free for a specific time. If you miss the deadline you’ll miss out. Once added to your account, they are yours to keep. :)

Very badly created. Once into 'Options' there is no way to get back out, & worst, the rules of the Checkers have Black making the first move, NOT White! Deleted. Try again.

Lawrence Carter,

Hi Lawrence,

I agree, in the traditional game black always starts, but this is a cheap arcade game with many different options to create boards as large as 96x96, it's not checkers but super checkers. (Yeah!)

As a child we used to play Checkers (though, I prefer the name draughts as that's what we called it in the UK), and although competitive checkers has strict rules, we never kept to those; for example, we would choose our colour then flip to see who started first. Also, we didn't always stick to the rule that if there was a move that meant you should take a man we didn't if we saw other opportunities. (though I seem to remember my grandfather insisting on it when he played) Okay, it wasn't pure checkers, but it was the way we played it as kids.

This game may not be pure checkers, but it is in the spirit of checkers and you can play the game as checkers apart from the black starts rule.

Personally I thought the ability to increase the size of the board was a great idea as was adding extra rows of men; adding much more than a basic checkers game; that said I do think anything over 15 to 20 rows and columns is too much, mainly because you can hardly see the black piece's. As mentioned in my review; they should have added the option to colour the black pieces red; also, with such a large board, you could just keep moving your pieces to avoid capture, and it would be a lot easier to create kings.

Sorry you felt the need to delete it.

Stay safe.

Don't expect any flashing lights, it is what it is, checkers, and if you like checkers you will most likely like this. Simple to set options and clean looking, though I wish they had used a color other than black on the board as the black pieces, as Wr-UK mentioned, can sometimes practically disappear.

I played a few games solo and enjoyed it. Relaxing and thoughtful with a definite start and finish so it would be good for a short game break if one wanted that.

The only issue I had was there were a few times it would not let me click on some pieces with an available move but would let me click on others.
I had left the difficulty set to the preset 3 so maybe it was doing that to help me not make a bad move, I am not sure. I don't have the time to investigate further as I need to be somewhere but just putting it here FYI, in case others experience the same thing so they know it's not just them.

Thank you to all involved with this offering!
