# 48 Mizator - See my comment above(#30) to prevent future unwanted links and icons. You won't be able to re-download yesterday's game, but maybe could refer to it for next time :)

And freebird 31 - Gee! You make me blush with your three messages(must be the delay for comment moderation by GGotD). I'm no computer wizard, but have figured out a thing or two. You are most welcome.

I really do not like this game. It has no variation whatsoever and there is an incredibly repetitive and annoying eyesore of a graphic that replays itself ad nauseum (it's an exploding bomb) in the main game window while you are playing. This is a poor clone of a great game, Super Collapse. Not recommended.

And 43,

you're being just as judgmental as any of the negative reviewers on this site when you tell people not to say anything at all if they can't say anything nice. Also, telling everyone who posted a comment (including those that were positive) to 'get a life' sounds pretty "juvenile" to me. Maybe take some of your own advice, justthinking.

I think it's great that people can give honest feedback here, and I always enjoy reading the comments.
I thought this was a good little time-wasting game, with bold, clear graphics and simple gameplay. I don't think I'll be glued to it for hours, but I suspect I'll load it up now and then for another play to see how many levels I can pass, so thanks for this giveaway.

Can you all just stop telling each other how to comment on these games? We're not here to turn this section of GAOTD into just another flamer's thread where people trade moronic insults trying to pass off their lame comments as legitimate forum conversation. Let well enough alone.

Not too original (as can be seen by this companies other games), but the visuals are nice and the gameplay is still fun. 5/10

i don't know why people that take advantage of this FREE site are so judgmental. it is FREE. if you don't like it...don't come back! this is so ridiculous! if you don't like a game, fine, pass, but the comments are so juvenile when you don't like something. why comment on a FREE game.

i have passed on free games and not bothered to comment, but if i don't like it, i don't need to make a comment about it. it is a personal preference.
you all need to get a life!

@7 freebird31, et al
Play in a window and drag the right side of the window off-screen.

@17 Vella, et al
They fooled us this time! There is actually a screenshot on the gamesite's page.

-----snip-----

You sure this was made by that DoubleGames kid? I haven't run into any bugs, yet (Unless you count that annoying flashing bomb logo onscreen while you're trying to play the game. The corn-pone music sounds like our local stuff.) I guess he's getting better at imitating everybody else's games. I might keep it a little while for when I get really, really bored. :) Thanks.

I think it is important that this isn't a fake site full of fake praise. The developers need to see the warts and complaints about the product as well as DETAILED praise. "Gee, this is nice" or "OMFG this sucks" comments are similarly useless to developers. Tell them why you like/hate it.

Good morning everyone! ;)

Are game developers really allowed to copy games EXACTLY then market them as their own? This is absolutely no different to "Super Collapse" which I bought about a year ago!

C'mon Double Games - create something original, and if it's going to be a clone - at least don't make it an exact copy!

Oh well,

As for a review ...

The game activated and installed easily.

The graphics are beautifully created and seem to be of a high quality.

Options are all in-game, very basic and curiously enough you can change modes in-game and still have it add to your current score. The options consist of turning sound FX on or off - a separate volume control for music and choosing maximised or small window. I had to turn the music off, as it's still early morning here and I don't feel like listening to square dance music. (rolls eyes}

You can also play stalagmite or stalegtite mode - AGAIN exactly the same as the above mentioned game. The only difference is that in stalactite mode, the blocks grow at the top of the screen, instead of the bottom.

No surprises with the bombs - black blows up blocks around it - and the colored bombs blow up bricks of the same color.

The instructions screen is also very basic, but I'm sure that everyone knows how to play this game anyway - it's so very simple.

Between this and all the Tetris clones we had, I have to wonder just how much integrity there is in the game software world. At least each of the Tetris clones introduced something a little different - unlike this game.

Double Games I have to give you a thumbs down and a 1/10 for the graphics only. Thanks for being here.

Thanks GOTD - I'm curious about the process - do you choose the games to be on offer - or do you just take what the game developers give you?

Have a great day everyone! ;)
~ Swan

to #7 freebird31 - Hi. Don't know if you'll come back to look at comments here but maybe I can help- You said . . .

"I Hate the fact they feel the need to put all kinds of commercial icons on my desktop and in my favorites menu, just to get me to buy more… I hate it. I don’t ask for those unwelcome icons…"

Boy do I understand that. Try this. When you download the game, uncheck all of the boxes(I don't even check "start game now"). After the install, go to START MENU and right click the game. Then left click "Send to desktop" if you choose to. That's what I do and I don't get the links to their site on my desktop.

I don't know how to avoid the appearance of the links in your Favorites, that doesn't happen in Firefox Bookmarks. I do get them in my START menu however. If you want to go through the hassle there, you can right click the "Play games online" and "Free Games Download" and then left click DELETE. Be sure you don't delete your uninstall file by mistake.

This process works with any game that gives you checkbox options.

Good Luck next time :)

I spend 5 minutes looking up some stuff about all the "terrific" DoubleGames that have been offered on GGAOTD.

Superblocks v1.0 available since Feb-04-2005 for 14.95

Ronin Solitaire v1.0 available since May 06 2006 for 14.95

Bushido Soitaire v1.0 available since Oct-13-2006 for 14.95

Fishing Trip v1.0 available since Jan-30-2005 for 14.95

Tower constructor v1.0 available since July-16-2005 for 14.95

Juicy puzzle v1.0 available since Dec-07-2004 for 14.95

Castle of cards v1.0 available since July-16-2005 for 14.95

Elite Mahjong v1.0 available since Oct-09-2004 for 14.95

hmmmm....does anyone see a trend?

I find it almost amusing to see that none of them ever outgrew the version 1.0 stage. Either each and everyone was so good that it didn't need to or the developer couldn't be bothered to tweak it.

#15, A-R, you can get collapse 3 for free at Gamehouse, on their extended play downloads, it runs and ad once in a while between levels, but, hey, it's free.
I'm still waiting for a good Word Game, because Intricate Words I deleted after the first five minutes of play; lol.

Hi Pamela, I’ve been having problems getting my posts to show. Check comment #36 from yesterday’s giveaway. You'll find my Email to contact me. :)

Installation was a breeze as usual. Once installed and activated, the game automatically starts in windowed mode. As with most Double Games, there’s no options menu, but you can change to full windowed mode by clicking on the top right of the window, using the usual window configuration buttons.

The instructions are easily understood and a brief explanation of the power ups is given. There are two types of power up, black bombs and color bombs. You’ll also find a brief explanation of the playing modes. You can toggle arcade mode on or off and also play in Stalactite and Stalagmite modes.

I found the music a little irritating after a while, but this as well as the sound effects can be turned off anytime during game play from the right of the playing field.

If you clear a field during a level you get bonus points as well a bonus points for removing large numbers of blocks with one click. (This can be accomplished by strategically leaving one color untouched until you have built up a large section of them).
As you progress through the levels, the speed will slowly start to increase, making it more difficult to keep up. There’s no selection for difficulty though. To the left of the playing field you can see a pane that tells you how many lines are left to complete the level as well as the level number and your score so far. Underneath the pane it tells you whether you are in arcade mode or not.

When one of the power ups appears such as the color bomb, clicking on it will cause all the blocks of that color to explode. However if you click on a set of three or more colored blocks that contain the same colored bomb, it will act as just a normal block. The black bombs remove any colored blocks within a certain radius of the bomb.

This is a simple and reasonably entertaining game. I have a copy of the first of the Super Collapse series and this is virtually identical to it apart from having the Stalactite and stalagmite modes. The music and sound effects that support the Super Collapse series are better in my opinion, but that’s not what I buy a game for usually. If you don’t have any super collapse games, this should definitely be a keeper for your library of games.

If you really like this game, then ‘I would’ suggest you try Super Collapse 3 which is ‘basically’ the same game, but it has several features that make it a must have to this genre of game; such as being able to create user accounts, loads of power ups and several modes of play, some of which are very challenging. You can check out a demo from the following url:

http://www.gamehouse.com/gamedetails/?game=collapse3

There’s a decent options menu and you can also win trophies for attaining specific goals.

However for a basic collapse game Super Blocks is more than adequate. :)

Thank you yet again Double Games for another playable game and also thanks to the GGAotD team for providing this service.

As one comment above said; "Super Collapse 3 really does put this one to shame”....well that may be, but I wouldn't personally use ‘shame’ because I think Super Blocks was made before Super Collapse 3, so it's a little ‘strong’ to use such words. I could just as easily say that Magic Ball 3 puts Magic Ball 2 to shame or Battlefield 2142 puts Battlefield 1942 to shame, but that really is silly as they are just developmental improvements, and a good way to fleece the public of more money, for what are basically the same games, with just eye candy for extras. (my opinion of course.) Put another way, all they are, is a development from the original idea. Super collapse 3 has been developed for a specific market, so unless you're a fanatic over this type of game, I'd expect most people would be grateful for the opportunity to try Super Blocks out before committing themselves to paying nearly $20 to upgrade to Super Collapse 3. I'm just as happy playing Super Blocks for free than buying Super Collapse 3. :) Each to their own though.

It provides a good challenge. I always turn the music off on all games. The sounds in this one were irritating, but I did get used to them once I started concentrating. It's a good time waster. ;o)

Developers, PLEASE, know that we are intelligent enough to know where the game came from and able to find you site if and when we want. PLEASE stop adding your ads to our desktop with your game. Yes, they are quite easily deleted, but just adds more crap to my computer and its history.

I love the game, I love the music and colour. I Hate the fact they feel the need to put all kinds of commercial icons on my desktop and in my favorites menu, just to get me to buy more... I hate it. I don't ask for those unwelcome icons... And in the game there is a very very annoying add, besides the playing field... How horrible for a game that I would've loved without that flashy add. Icons I can remove, however annoying, but that flashy add is just irritating me to the roof.....
