RIP: Strike Back was available as a giveaway on September 20, 2007!
A cruel dictator, General Wildboar, has conquered the world. His evil cyber-mariners guard his lair and keep the entire planet under his control. Joyous holidays such as Christmas and Halloween were banned. Dreaming was a crime with a punishment of death.
The world was falling deeper into darkness with no hope of recovery. When there are no heroes left in the land, help comes from some very unexpected places.

Not afraid of Death? What if he is accompanied by Halloween and Rock'n'Roll? Play the part of the anti-heroes and go to war in the action arcade game named Game of the Month by PC Zone magazine!
In the middle of the 22nd century Earth was conquered by an unknown invader. With advanced technology and witchcraft as his weapons, the enemy seized the planet and declared himself dictator. Start the battle! Play with friends!
I was actually surprised that I enjoyed this game. I will continue to play this one. I really enjoy the experience factor and that the terrain blocks weapons for a time. It adds a sense of strategy to the game rather than just running around and shooting things.
Two Thumbs Up! b d

The first in the series is the best in the series IMO. Strike Back really falls short, as it adds very little to what the original game was, but somehow also subtracks from the enjoyment as the action is bland. This game doesn't flow as well, and I think is a bit too much like the original. As for the third game in the series, well it's pretty big, but the biggest difference is that there are larger enemies and more guns. I am happy to stick with RIP, I don't really need 2 or 3.

I loved the first one when it was given away the other day, and this adds another level to the mayhem as you have to move your character around the screen as well. Quite tricky to get used to but worth the initial frustration and a worthy sequel to the original R.I.P.
Good stuff!

I find this game boring. The preview made it sound good so i was totally disappointed when i started playing it.

This is a worthy sucessor to the first RIP. I did post a shortie aound 9am this morning (1 hour after the game was posted), but it seems to have not been accepted despite checking that it had been received by reposting it twice to see if I received the WordPress message saying duplicate ...
It received 91% thumbs up previously out of 222 votes. you can see the 50+ comments by following link below:

With respect to the Vista issue. I wasn't going to change over either, but being into games and eye candy and having just bought DX10 compatible graphics cards and ordered a DX10 game 'I've had to'. I must say I am actually very impressed with Vista despite the present shortcomings; quite a few of my software packages such as Nero and some video editing software wont work, but hey, it's time I upgraded everything lol. It's no use living in the past..... ;) Besides I purchased Home Premium for the equivalent of $100 which is a bargain (OEM copy).

doesn't work on vista, even in compatibility mode.
does work on XP. it's a fun game, but the controls are VERY frustrating.

Sorry if this is a double post, but my first one isn't showing up (not even waiting moderation).
I saw on the developers website that only RIP 3 is compatible with Vista. So we'll have to wait until that repeats.

Just like the original in the series, not Vista x64 compatible. I'll see if I can transfer the activation from one partition to another.

#5: Probably a problem with Vista. Expect many things won't work and compatibility issues when going the Vista route. Me, I'm sticking with XP for now.

Where did the file go? I downloaded it a couple minutes ago and got checksum errors opening it. I went to download it again and now the file is gone. What's going on?

A lot harder than it looks, controls similar in nature to the old Smash TV video game. Takes a bit of getting used to how it works since you are moving and shooting in a 2D environment and your depth of shooting changes as well as the direction all at the same time. Challenging but not impossible. Overall a good game, I'll give it 7 out of 10.
