Starship Arcade:

In Brief:
A runner style game, but with a space ship travelling through randomly generated tunnels with obstacles. No two tries are the same. The graphic is very basic; reminding me of games I purchased back in the early 90's and even earlier..

The Game:
On booting up the game you are presented with a menu with several buttons, the first to take note of it a stylized wrapped present. Clicking on this gives you some in game currency (a yellow circle with a stylized thunder bolt) which is regenerated every six hours, so you can claim more currency if you boot the game up a few times daily. If you close the game down and return later, this is still valid and appears to be connected to your computers clock. A count down timer appears once you've clicked on the gift symbol and will disappear once the timer is completed; at which point you can claim more in game currency.

Below this button are two large light blue buttons, the first starts the actual game, the second, with a 3D representation of a square block, is supposed to take you to a character selection screen, but all I could see were the words ''Select Character'' in large bold yellow characters. There's a blue start button below this that takes you back to the main menu and in the top corners a close button, that also takes you back to the main menu and in the top right corner, the amount of in game currency you have.

Below these buttons in the main menu are three more buttons; the first two appear to be duds though I suspect they represent statistics and achievements respectively. The third button accesses your options menu where you can toggle off the sound and music and restore purchases (haven't a clue what this does as yet).

As the introduction at the top of the giveaway page (just below the countdown timer) indicates, the game is controlled by just your mouse.

Avoid crashing into the obstacles, some of which move; steering your ship with the movement of your mouse from left to right and up and down. Survive as long as you can, and collect in game currency by flying through them. The currency can then be used to buy characters (probably space ships) that I'm presuming will appear in the character selection screen once you've collected enough to buy a new ship?

When you crash an in game image is shown of your crash. Along the bottom left of the image there are two buttons denoting either GIF or PNG, tohugh on clicking either I get a message saying ''No Clip was Recorded''

Conclusion:
Basically this is a runner game, but with a space ship theme. It's actually quite difficult; though not through any lack of skill or reflexes; but due to the random nature of the moving parts that are virtually impossible to avoid other than by luck.

I wasn't able to proceed very far so I cannot say whether there are multiple levels, but because there is a lack of a level map I'm thinking it's just one endless level. I didn't even get far enough to collect any extra in game currency, so cannot confirm whether the character screen works and whether you get a new ship or whether you get a character representation.

Basically I feel this game is in an unfinished state, but is playable. I will be keeping it, if only to try and beat my poor performance so far. :)
