Called Dream Farm, it's a casual farming sim in which you can play with other human players. Your tasks include growing products, selling them at the market and competing against other players for customers. You will be able to communicate with other players via in-game chat. The most surprising thing about the game world is how it's constantly changing.
An untamed land of plenty lies before you, but the path to glory lies within you in The Promised Land, a casual strategy game for the adventurous at heart! Can you tame the New World before it tames you?
Travel from the deepest trenches of the Atlantic Ocean to the awe-inspiring wonders of Mars as you solve the greatest archeological puzzle known to man: the origin of Atlantis.
Manage five farms around the world and try your hand at penguin breeding and jewelry making in Farm Frenzy 3! Features 95 outrageously fun levels, 30 wacky animals and more upgrades than there are ears in a field of corn!
Help two orphans escape an evil spell in Whispered Stories: Sandman, an adventurous tale set in a fantastical world! Only your wits and keen vision can help you on this journey!
Runs okay on my Win7 machine but the water filters puzzle (after you've made tea for the cop) some distance through the game crashes the game on completion. It's done it twice now, so I'm assuming there's something fundamentally broken (Windows tells me it's stopped working and offers to look for solutions, that sort of crash.) Pity: it's a surprisingly fun and challenging game (I was expecting it to be easy and childish from the graphics -- just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a book by the cover!) and I was enjoying it!
This machine has an Intel Atom cpu: might be something to do with it. I've got an AMD-based Win8 machine that I haven't played the game on yet (installed but not yet run) so maybe it'll work better there...

I like this game! It is an entertaining time-filler. In HOGs, I generally enjoy the mini-games more than the hidden object parts, so I really appreciate that there are lots of non-repeating mini-games. The hidden object areas are pretty simple, there is no penalty for wrong clicks, and the hint button regenerates quickly (although I didn't need it very often). The achievements are what keep you trying to not click wildly & not use hints. My only wish is that the mini games would have a hint button also, instead of just skip. I did end up using an online walkthrough for a couple of them, because I didn't want to skip. Thanks for a fun game!

Hi, was away with Family for few days in sunny Andalucia (aah, blissful time and weather, just in time for 'Fiesta de Los Reyes'..:), so missed this Offer, but downloaded today from MPC instead, and enjoyed 1st Level of it. Cute looking Game, my kind of relaxing break, something new after completing last HOG at Christmas:) Like I mentioned before, downloading from MPC is no longer a 'pain' and nothing additional in view or otherwise to watch for when installing (for those who miss Giveaways here, thanks Stephen for that particular link!)
Hope You cope with poor health and Your latest test results have positive outcome. On the subject - my husband had these 'things' corrected by undergoing simple heart bypass few years ago, as one clever 'guy' from Addenbrooke's Clinic drew him a picture what happens when one side of heart is not pumping blood to brain the way it should.. and that whole proccess is somehow finding alternative place (at the low back of a head) - creating a real 'traffic' there, and resulting in constant headaches, mighty tiredness, blurred vision, balance instability a.s.o. Your case might have completely different reasons, but we are so grateful it could be corrected by this op in Cambridge University Hosp, it helped considerably! Good luck anyway.

I like the fact that this game isnt telling you everything right away. Its not an easy game! You actually have to THINK what items you are searching for in the first place. Some say, that makes it unsuitable for kids. Well guys, give your kids some game to develop their imagination an intuition, give them this game instead of those other 100 all-so-ever-same-looking games. I love this game, its a fresh breeze in the genre, at least for me.
I once learned to play Backgammon on an Apple II, when i was 4 years old. Thats a challenge you should try, you might be surprised what your kids might be able to do. Oh and dont forget to start them that CivilizationV session afterwards, well just because theres always more stuff to master, you know. ^^

...Games do not belong in the program files folder. :)
In my case, i changed the default C:\Games to E:\Spiele some year or so ago. And Windows remembered that setting ever since. With every installation, i just have to click next on the directory settings.

Just adding to my comment after much more play. Indeed fun, and challenging enough for adult despite the child-oriented graphics/characters/storyline. I like that it's pretty long, keeping my interest and allowing for more than a quick play through (not finished yet, though close). Some of the HOs are truly invisible, which is annoying; though the hints refresh mercifully quickly, I hate using hints :), and when I do and see what they point to, many of them are truly invisible and I'd never have found them. I like a tough challenge, but not an impossibility. I also like that you can change the screen size and layout, and the music is not annoying to me at all. And the mini-games are VERY welcome; I like the combination of different mini-games with different skills to balance the HOG part. Overall, I would recommend this game; thanx.

Stuck seriously when trying to make a tee for sheriff. Fortunately, your hint about walkthrough did the job!
The game is easy at the first glance only. Really nice game with reasonably good graphics.

Hi,
Downloaded quickly on 8.1. Graphics are decent. Just something missing with the graphics, maybe its the look of them, but otherwise
a very easy game. I played quite a few levels quickly. I believe children could play it fairly easy with the hints. Similar
to most games of this type. Thanks for another good game and have a great week!

I am enjoying this game a lot! I like the fact that there is more to do than just click on a bunch of things in a list. I like the various mini-games and the fact that scenes/games don't seem to repeat. My one suggestion for making the game better is not have the HINT button actually find things for you, but just show you the area where the item is located, thus letting the player actually click and find it. Otherwise, great game and quite fun to play. Thanks GGOTD and Alawar.

I've yet again been feeling inder the weather, (mainly a constant tiredness, plus of course the ever present pain), which is why my efforts on the site have deteriorated somewhat over the last few months.
We have a lot going on at home, with the legal battle with our builder (whose ripped us off for over £45K) building up to a finale, plus I'm worried about my sons upcoming exams. It's been a difficult task trying to jolly him along w.r.t. revision etc. He seems more interested in playing his copy of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (he plays with another giveaway community members son almost daily). I've had to remove his monitor on a few occassions recently after finding him still playing at this time and later (as late as 4am in the morning), and threatened to disconnect the internet till hes asleep.
I've just employed some tutors to help, but they are costing me almost £100 a week (around $150), still that's cheaper than the other option we were considering (sending him to a private school, with school fees in excess of £11 000 a year). Thankfully I think he's starting to realize how important these first exams are and has been buckling himself down to more sustained and serious revision of late. He's just finished his oral Spanish exams and said he thinks he's done well. :)

What a wonderful time waster - not a lot of thought, be VERY entertaining. I think the developers did an awesome job. I am over "straight HOGs" and etc. I love TM games, but this is a nice break! Thanks Alawar for a beautiful Sunday!

Very enjoyable game! Nice graphics, no timer, unlimited hints with a reasonable hint recharge time, yet challenging game. Some clever unique minipuzzles not seen in any other HOGs I've played! Thank you!

I like HOGs where you have to assemble things and use them to go on. This is a fun game with a nice storyline. I enjoyed playing it this afternoon. Graphics are nice and the music is relaxing. Lots of mini-games to play. I do have some remarks though. I always miss the sound when the characters lips move. My advice is either put sound to it or do not bother moving the lips. It is kind of funny, because at times the mouths move a lot and the text is really short and vice versa. I find the blinking in the pictures confusing and a bit annoying. You can see scattered bits already in the picture even though the object is not broken and scattered yet. When using the Hint button the finger finds the object for you. I would prefer finding it myself, so let the finger just point to the area you have to look in. I miss a list/pictures when you have to find parts of a machine showing which parts you still have to find. If you click randomly too fast, you get punished, but otherwise you can click away as long as you like which is a good thing, because I am not good in finding things. Thank you again for a lovely game. Whiterabbit take care.

This sounds like a fun game to try, and it's downloading now. I also wanted to thank Alawar, GGOTD, and White Rabbit for the opportunity to try new games, and for the time and effort put forth to review and describe them. One more thing: I recently had to do a System Refresh on my Windows 8.1, and it wiped out more than I thought it would. So I referred to your calendar (thank you!) and made a list of the games that I really enjoyed, and will re-download them at various websites. ~ML

Swamp Thing, according to the ingame story they are foxes ;)
Yesterdays game... not my cup of tea, I am not really a tradegame player in the first place, let alone a tradegame that is "text based with pictures" if that makes sense but I do think a lot of people where happy with it according to the comments so good call offering it. Besides that it beats the alpha zylon from a few giveaways back any day of the week and who knows, I might give it another chance when I am bored. Todays game was a pleasant surprise due to it's looks. Decent movies, nice level layouts, fun puzzles (so far). I do agree it might not be for the younger children because of the way some of the search objectives can be a bit hard to understand for them and sometimes items can be really hard to find (like the buttons you have to find)
I noticed something funny and I believe that this is not the first alawar game that this has happened to me, there is a widescreen option but enabling that actually gave me the opposite effect, the view became narrower instead of "wide screen". Install went fine as usual with alawar games on my win 8.1 64bit.
one thing that has annoyed me for some time now is the extraction to C:/Games as default. When I go to alawar and get a game there it is placed where it belongs, in the program files folder. Why isn't this happening with the GOTD versions, is this a choice by the developers (other games have the same annoyance) or by GGOTD, if the last party is "to blame" please askthem to consider to chance it.
I could ask the great white hopping one how he is but judging by the comments you are doing fine but busy busy busy, could it be the busy busy busy that has caused you to still haven't accepted my steam friendship request? (a1whizzy) because it is sitting there for several weeks now ;)
Thanks Alawar and GGOTD, so far we had two great games this year so I forsee a great gaming year ahead of us.

I have a Intuos Pen & Touch tablet, so no mouse on my computer per say. I tend to play games with my pen since it's easier. I loaded the game, it lagged my pen in a bad way such that I couldn't actually play with it. I set it down, try with the finger touch since that's how I 'mouse' around.. I could move my cursor around but I couldn't actually click anything.
Closed the game, pen kept on lagging whenever I tried to use it, I had to reboot my computer to get it to work properly. So long version short, I can't actually play this game with my Pen and Touch tablet. A note of warning out there to anyone who might want to try. I wish I could have played, it did look interesting.

I was a fan of HO games but have not played many recently.
This one was a nice surprise and I'm looking forward to working my way through it.
The graphics are clear and objects are not too easy to find (I've had to use the hint button several times!)
There's just enough challenge & variety to keep it interesting without getting bogged down in convoluted plots and scenes.
Thanks to all for this one. It will keep me going for a while and might even be a keeper.

After an hour of play time I thought I'd share my views.
#1 - please put a custom on off option in the game. This one doesn't bog down with custom cursor but for some it might, especially on older machines.
#2 - This is a very cute game. If the characters are not to your liking then you probably won't like it. It's very toonish but fun with a bit of humor. I am enjoying their chatting so far but they are very quirky. They remind me of Alex Gordon (another game). They are foxes, not cats, as noted in their conversations.
#3 - Some of the objects are very hard to find. Not sure this would be easy for kids; depends on their skill level. Guess I'm still a kid (ha) because I've had to use the hint button multiple times.
Overall, I like this game and give it thumbs up.

Finished the game now, thanks very much for this game.
I had to skip some minigames though because I had no idea what to do, because it wasn't explained very clearly.
The hidden objects are sometimes very hard to find (hurray for the hint button). You have to find modern things for example and there are no modern things to be seen nowhere, after clicking around I hit a piece of wood and that revealed an old-fashioned iron, I would have enjoyed it just that bit more when the hidden object could be seen in total and not only a little corner ;)

Installed and ran well on windows8 64bit computer. Fun hidden object game that is easy enough to be relaxing, but yet also difficult enough to be a little challenge. It offers hints when wanted, and allows a person to skip the mini puzzles they don't care for or are having a difficult time completing. I do like the way this one is set up, where it gives you a category of items to search for, such as, find all antiques, or find all food items. Personally I found the in game music pleasant, and the graphics really nice. I also felt that the game had a kind of comical atmosphere, which was very enjoyable for me. For me, I felt this is one of the better hidden object games I have played in quite some time.
Thank you very much for the game. I will definitely be looking to this company to trying and purchasing more games.

Quick download and install. Again you have to go into C:/Games but it's easy to make a shortcut. The music is nice but I muted it anyway. No voiceover actor but you don't have to wait for the story you can click to continue to the next page, also good. Options to change the screen size and wide screen the game are a nice touch, haven't seen that in a while. In searching for parts you can interact with other things and give you more goals to complete. The game doesn't seem overly cluttered to make it harder to find but it's not entirely child like.
It absolutely looks like a Jak and Daxter for children sort of character game with a bizarre backstory. I like the menu layout, that there are achievements, fast loading hints and other puzzle types within the goals. The gameplay itself a child could definitely play but the downside to not having voiceovers is the kiddos have to read about spacial inductors or some such nonsense and figure out why they're finding parts to build things. They don't always tell you how to do puzzles but they're fairly simple to figure out or skip altogether. I think it's a really cute game although not very challenging and kudos to BGF and you guys for giving it away.

Fun so far; thanks! Installed and works fine on Win 8.l. A bit childish in the storyline/characters, but it's challenging enough for this kid-at-heart so far. Enjoying it after a few disappointments recently; actually that's one of the strengths of this site---the variety of game types. Not into shoot-em-ups or sims, love the adventures, and enjoy good HOGs and Match 3s, so even when a weekend goes by without something that caputres me, I know the next time will be a winner!

Thanks for the cute game, vey enjoyable, but also a few points of criticism:
1. one cannot really see, which items have already been collected/are still missing
2. no voice-over
3. no choice in language
4. a bit difficult to operate on a touchscreen
otherwise a very cute game, some "in-between" tasks are too difficult for children, but the item search itself is easy enough, not only due to the HINT button :-)
Thanks again!
BTW: my kids love the cats

So, two cats perform alien experiments on each other in the Bermuda Triangle. Right? Sounds... like something that here in the USA would be on Adult Swim.
I like most animals. I REALLY do. but But BUT (I like BIG butts and I cannot lie!) those two cats in the picture are FREAKY! The are like wearing clothes! Cats don't wear clothes!
Everybody knows that the Bermuda Triangle is in fact an underwater testing facility used by the U.S. Navy to test time travel and instant movement between parallel universes!
I don't think I want to play a game about FREAKY, time traveling, naval cats with BIG butts.

Not very kid friendly today. Gives you an idea of what to look for, but doesn't actually tell you, or show you. For me, it's a fun little game with an ok story line, installed smoothly on win 8. I don't think I've actually ever had a problem installing any of these games. The little side puzzles are fairly simple. My only complaint is the lack of a "list", either by words, pictures, or shapes that can help younger players find the items they are looking for. All in all, it's a good game that will kill a bit of time. Second play seems to be exactly like the first.

Just wanted to say a few things real quick. I'm as busy today as I was yesterday!
1. Give thanks to yesterday's game author, SimProse Studios, for yesterday's game, Aquarius (or as the readme included with said, " Interstellar Trader 2") and to GGOTD for today & yesterday's game! Going to play both when I find time!
2. I installed Whiterabbit's suggestion of DownloadThemAll back when he suggested using it to download large files (which applies today as well) but the default settings didn't work for me as I kept getting corrupt downloads. I had to change the default setting "Load Last Few Kilobytes First" to "48" as the default setting on "Disabled" doesn't seem to work very well. Hasn't failed me once yet with that enabled...
3. Hope things are going well for you Whiterabbit!

Win 8 installation went smoothly as always. Played the first level. Decent, no too difficult HOG with some extra puzzles.
Intermezzo's gladly are short and I can use the skip button. Which I did after two conversations. But that is personal.
One remark: the blinking hint area on the screen which is needed at the end the level, is a bit annoying while seeking stuff.

The Game:
A hidden object title with a twist of adventure, Sprill & Ritchie: Adventures in Time is the latest HOG from Alawar, sending you on a wild ride through past, present, and future. When Ritchie invents a time machine, all is well until a flux mixes items from different eras. But will setting things as they were fix the flow of time, or is there more to history than this simple mishap?
The game begins with Sprill, who recalls his previous adventure which involved a magic pearl and rogue aliens. He’s convinced the worst of his adventures are over, that is, until now. Ritchie invites Sprill over to share his latest discovery: the ability to create a machine that travels through time. But once the machine is assembled, things go wrong and items from all different eras of time are misplaced. Determined to set things right, Ritchie recruits the help of his reluctant foxcub friend to restore the course of history and time to its original state. But only time will tell if simply putting things back as they were will restore history to its natural course.
Sprill & Ritchie is a classic hidden object game, but with a twist. Players are not limited to just finding objects, but also completing tasks. Every single object in the game has a purpose: unlike many HOGs where you simply find a list of random items to continue, Sprill & Ritchie implements each and every task and item into the storyline of the game.
There is also a huge variety of mini-games, 55 to be exact, which are all unique. Mini-games range from matching symbols to reassembling broken machines and trinkets, and much much more. For those who don’t like to complete mini-games or find it too difficult, nearly any minigame can be skipped after an alotted amount of time so the player can continue.
Hints are renewable and unlimited, and the game provides plenty of dialogue to guide you along your way. Objects and gameplay are scattered across 33 unique levels: no double-visits, giving it much more of an adventure-feel and sense of excitement.
Furthermore, Sprill & Ritchie features additional challenges for you to complete once you’ve finished the game. These challenges take the form of trophies which can be unlocked and earned while you play. Trophies are wide and varied, rewarding story-related things such as finishing the game or rewarding actual gameplay achievements, such as completing every mini-game without skipping or finishing levels quickly, giving Sprill & Ritchie fun and challenging replay value.
The feel of the story and the gameplay of Sprill & Ritchie is both humorous and welcoming, giving a charming vibe that any age or genre of gamer will be comfortable with. The soundtrack is also unique and upbeat, and the gameplay itself spans everything from the Stone Ages to the distant future. The only thing the game could have improved on which might have been a nice touch was to add some voices to the 3D mouth-moving critters, but the gameplay itself is excellent and unique.
Subtitles are available for all dialogue, leaving sound an optional setting. Tutorials and directions are also easy to follow and understand, without being too obvious. The difficulty of the hidden objects in combination with the hints provides both a playable game for beginners and a challenging game for veterans of the hidden object genre.
Sprill & Ritchie would be a welcome addition to the game collection of any HOG or adventure gamer of any age. Overall, an excellent title I hope to see more of in the future.

Hints, Tips and Mini Games:
General Tips:
Sprill and Ritchie: Adventures in Time has 33 levels and 52 mini-games.
There are no timers in the game, so take your time and complete the puzzles and scenes at your own pace.
When your cursor turns into a hand icon, it means you can grab that item and it will go into inventory.
A sparkly area in the scene indicates an item that you need to use an inventory item on or that you need to interact with in some kind of way.
When a magnifying glass icon appears it means you will be able to take a closer look at that particular item.
Pay attention to what Sprill and Ritchie are saying in between scenes. Often times they are giving you clues as to what you need to do next. If you miss the dialogue, there’s no way to go back to read it.
If you click randomly on the screen you will see the screens covered with bubbles temporarily. You will not be able to pick up items until the bubbles disappear.
Hints:
The game has unlimited hints but you have to wait until the hint button recharges before you can use it again. It recharges pretty quickly so your waiting period is minimal.
To use a hint, simply click on the filled hint button in the lower right side of the scene. The game will automatically take off a random item off your list.
You cannot use hints on your mini-games.
Mini Games:
There are 52mini-games in Sprill and Ritchie: Adventures in Time. The mini-games do not repeat themselves.
Pay attention to the instructions at the beginning of a mini-game since you will not have access to them once the game has started.
If you want to follow the instructions given in this walkthrough for any of the mini-games, click on the “close” button. Open the mini-game again and it will be automatically reset.
You can skip a mini-game once the skip button is filled in green.
Video:
You’ll find videos of game play HERE, HERE, and HERE.
Conclusion:
Sprill and Ritchie: Adventures in Time is a good looking hidden object game with a story line that fits in with the games hidden object screens. This is an ideal game for the family, with characters that will endear your children to the game, but with enough content to also attract the adults of the family.
I’d give this game 7 out of 10 for family oriented fun.
Thank you to Alawar for your continued presence here on the game giveaway site. it's very much appreciated; and also to the game giveaway team for providing this game for free.

If you are posting late in the day I would also suggest posting in the main giveaway forums, in the game discussion section because I cannot moderate 24hrs a day over the weekend. I've created a thread HERE for that purpose. If you've installed the game but it won’t work for some reason, it should still be registered, so someone may be able to help at another time. Unfortunately if your problem is actually installing it then once the giveaway period is over there’s nothing that can be done until the game is given away again (though that isn't guaranteed). Sometimes you can still register the game after the giveaway has ended so long as you managed to start the download before the giveaway ends. I've tested this and sometimes the grace period lasts for up to 2 hours, but more often than not 1 hour is the norm.
It’s always worth checking out the free games sites because sometimes the games we get here are also available for free from them. MyPlayCity (MPC) has the most with over 1000 games to choose from. This particular game is available from two of the four that i usually quote. I've linked to then in the introduction section of the review above.
If you do download any other games from MPC or the other free game sites 'do' watch out for toolbars etc. Make sure you un-check the check-boxes during installation, and, in the case of MyPlayCity, every time you boot the game up, (this may have changed now as MPC tend to change the format frequently. .. I've posted links to all of the common free game sites below in the games, games games section. :)

To be honest there are too many game deals around too list them all. Just visit the sites I recommend above and I'm sure you'll find something that suits you for a very decent price. If like me you prefer Steamworks games, many of the above sites also sell steamwork games.
If that's not enough, check out the Game Discussion forums HERE for details of other games either free or on deals such as the Indie Game bundles (there's over 20 of them - If you purchased all of them you'd be paying around $80 for around a thousand dollars worth of games); or check out the four day sales at IndieGameStand. you'll find the indie bundles thread HERE. The thread is outdated, but all of the links will still take you to the latest bundles.
The latest IndieGameStand game is Revenge: Rhobar's Myth. Discover the many secrets of the open game world, challenge yourself in races against time and change the game world around you with 4 powerful spells. In Story Mode, you will learn the uses of spells and discover the myth of the mightiest of all magicians – Rhobar. If you pay over the average, which at the time of writing was $1.27 You get the sound track as well. You can pay as little as $1 for the game if you wish. If the game is Greenlit you'll get a Steam key, plus you get a Desura key and be able to download the game DRM free as well. This bundle ends around 5am (GMT) Wed 14th Jan.
The latest Daily Indie game is Space Trader: Merchant Marine. In the far future, humanity is ruled by The Ministry of Accounts, an oppressive bureaucracy that tracks, records and taxes every transaction of daily life. From the depths of Red Tape, a new breed of marketeer arises to challenge the authority and make a profit: the Space Trader is born! As a Trader, you will attempt to amass a fortune beyond your wildest imagination, buying and selling commodities and taking up arms against the oppressors or even accepting bounty missions, hunting down crime bosses and their thugs. You can get two keys if you pay more than the average of $1.13 (at the time of writing); one key to share with a friend or family member perhaps?. You'll find that deal HERE. They also have three bundles of several games that'll cost you less than $1.50 HERE each. The single game deal ends Midnight Mon 12th Jan.
Most of the bundles retail for around $5 give or take a few dollars (apart from the Daily Indie bundles that only cost $1.49 for six games), but you can pay as little as a dollar for some.
The free game from Origin remains the same as last week, i.e. Sim City 2000 special Edition. Did anyone get Battlefield 3 when it was only £0.74p over the Christmas period??
