KATHY REED: "How do I uninstall this. It does not show up in add/remove programs."
Of course it doesn't, because it hasn't been installed in the first place - just unpacked into a new directory. So just delete that directory and it's gone. :)

To all those who cant beat the game to Lvl 11 and beyond and think ITS THE GAMES fault, here is why you really cant beat it!
1. You are 35 years or older, and your reaction time has suffered respectively for such a game like this one.
2. Buy a mouse which will actually do GOOD!
3. You probably never played Ikaruga on the Dreamcast, and if so, you never got to stage 3. Shame on you! ^^
Here is the only solution for your problem. Get playing the game more often and you will get good at it! Theres no other way.

Thanks, I tried loading it earlier, but had probs, so I unloaded it again. I'll take your advice, and see what tomorrow brings.

Not for me, but I gave it a thumbs up on behalf of anyone playing games with young kids, helping them learn some hand/eye coordination.

I like scrolling shooters. I remember playing one really good DOS scroll shooter (it was called Raptor if I remember correctly), so I might want to try this one. But from the screen shots, it doesn't look very good to me.
#12: It's 250MB when unpacked...

All you complainers liked it when it these were on Nintendo!

Fun little game. Put it on my eeePC. I have to scroll to see the whole menu screen, but the game is definately playable.
Thank you!

Not a bad game for kids! Colorful graphics, and all you really have to do is dodge and pick up power-ups. Only played till I got to the worms, but I wonder if it gets harder to get through the levels. Yeah there could be more to it, but fine for what it is. Thanks GGAOTD.

Never did get to load this. Even with 8Mbs broadband, after 3mins of waiting on a 50kbs download link, I gave-up....Sorry.

Downloaded and installed just fine on Windows 7, played it through the 3rd level before I shut it off. Kind of fun to play in small doses, but wouldn't be much of a keeper if I were short on hard drive space.

I give this game a 3/10. I love this style of shooter. It could have been great, if not for the annoying fact that each level starts you over. So that awesome, powerful ship that you put together in the last level? Yeah, it's worthless. I got through 5 or so levels and quit, mostly because it got to a point that if I didn't get lucky with the powerups within the first wave of enemies, the whole level is pretty much impossible. Nice try, Hand Made Games. I really like the artwork, and the music, while repetitive, fits the classic style. I agree that sound effects may be in order, but the gameplay should be a priority.

Re : #12 from Mike Studyform:
I suspect it's a 56 MB zipfile because it is 406 MB once unzipped. 200 MB of game data and a 200 MB MP3 file.
I would have tried to find out what the "music" is, but the program won't run. Zonealarm dislikes it a lot. That does not inspire me with confidence.
The "uninstaller" doesn't.
Binned. Very, very binned.

Installed then un-installed. Not a bad game for 7 year olds but true gamers need a little more meat in the sauce. All I ever seem to find on here anymore are either geriatric or kids games, so where's the real games hiding at? GGOTD used to have at least have one great game per month.

Not bad to play while you are chatting with somebody at the phone... Voting "yes".

seemed like a large download for what you got.
Make a few changes to this game and it would be a LOT better.
1: Put some type of background picture up.
2: Lets change the music, I played 2 levels and it was all the same.
3: add explosions and explosion sounds when I blow up something.
4: get rid of auto fire and let me shoot.
the game is just moving the mouse up or down, it got REAL boring midway thru level 2.

the game doesn't load on my windows xp. i only hear the music and have a black screen. i've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. i've even tried deleting the first download and downloading it fresh. the install resulted in the same thing. i'll try starting the game and seeing if it is just a very slow loader. maybe it just takes longer than 5 minutes. i just don't have time right now. looks like it would be worth a try. hopefully it works.

A masochistic space shooter? Not a whole lotta fun. A sadistic space shooter? A lotta fun. Sadism is what makes a shooter a good shooter, it should be willing to give up bonus' that keep you in the game and keep you playing, not destroy all of your ships in the first two rounds. In fact any game should be programmed to do this. Frustrating players and making them want to exit out of it is no way to make money or a fun game. Build up a level to it gets progressively harder, not balls to the wall flat out insanity right from the start with pathetic weapons, and the hope there might be a bonus later on. Regeneration is also the key to a good shooter, you don't have to rebuild the whole ship, but, at least let the player get to the end of a round. If you are going to waste your time programming fifty levels the player should at least be able get to the fiftieth level.

Good game : it's fun to play with it !
Only one bad thing : I can not save the game : I must restart at the first level when I have lost all my lifes.
But thanks GAOTD : see you tomorrow !

Yeah, I'd have to agree with 13 and 14. No sound effects is a bit of a downer, and the gameplay is repetitive and gets stale quickly.
What this game needed was a scoring and upgrade system that all those coins could pay for, like a multiplier or a rocket or something. Something to put in some variety.
Save | Cancel
I'd give this 7 out of 10, mainly due to the repetitive gameplay, repetitive music and no sound effects. It's the sort of game that's crying out for huge explosive noises but nothing. Not a keeper I'm afraid!
Save | Cancel
thanks gaotd but this is a rather dull game, only controlling movement means game gets very repetitive, scoring method by catching falling coins becomes impossible on later levels where screen is filled with enemies. Had to remove off hard drive, thanks anyway

Looks like a fun old-fashioned shoot-em-up.....
but 56MB???

Oh, yes. I forgot. Auto fire only. Boring, too... :)

Okay, this game is really boring. No sound effects at all! No background graphics except for those stars. No variety of enemies. And somehow I don't like to control a shoot'em'up via mouse. At least it runs nice and smoothly...
Thanks, but this will disappear from my hard drive in a minute...

Thanks GOTD ... my childrens will be happy with this game

Forgot to mention: it's an auto-fire game, no franctic clicking here, just stearing (that's hard enough from level 3 onwards!)

Nice graphics, smooth gameplay. For all you mouse-shooter fans out there, this is one like R-type. Many enemies come screaming towards you, at the end off some levels there's a huge end-of-level boss and the action skyrockets very soon. This is a must for shooter-fans, as it's flawless and for free!
Enjoy!!

Hmm seems this game has a issue with 64-bit vista because the game won't run right for me :(
