I'm sure we all know how to play the Solitaire version of mahjong, i.e. Select two matching tiles to remove them, but you cannot remove tiles that are bound on two opposing sides by other tiles. The tiles that are locked are slightly greyed out. Certain tiles can be removed in pairs such as those with a letter, but with different symbols e.g. F or S. Each level includes special tiles that once removed completes the level.

With today's version of mahjong there are several different game modes, for example the traditional Paired Mahjong game as described above, solitaire mahjong , Find the Number, where you find two numbers that equal the number displayed at the bottom of the field, Crossed Lines where you select pairs where the lines intersect them (see the image below for details), All by Picture type where you have to remove the tile shown in the frame at the bottom of the field, the One Minute game type where you only have a minute to complete the level or Logical Pairs where you select pairs that go together for example knife and fork, lamp and bulb, different musical notes etc

The game includes a shuffle, hint or remove button in the bottom left of the screen that enables you to either mix up the tiles if you can't complete the level, or are finding it difficult to find any pairs, a hint button that will reveal a set of pairs or a back button to replace your last move. Also included are special tiles that will sometimes crop up that give you special abilities for example if a question mark tile is clicked on, you will be able to see all the matches for any selected tile on the field, a green button with two opposing arrows allows you to have more matching pairs than you presently have, plus two other special tiles that are details in one of the images I've included below.

If you need to take a break before completing a level, your progress is saved until you return to the game.

Conclusion:
This is an excellent mahjong solitaire game, with several different game types. What's more, playing the game again, once completed, the levels will not be the same with respect to the tile faces. So, there is unlimited play with the 100 levels that this game offers.

If you like Mahjong solitaire games, then this is one that's definitely worth downloading because of the several different modes of play, that keeps the game fresh as you progress through the generous number of levels. It's quite old, so those with the latest monitors 'may' have issues; however, it plays fine on my several year-old HD monitor but cannot say how it will perform on the latest 4K monitors with respect to higher resolutions.
