Whiterabbit-uk, This is an enjoyable game and worthy of purchase. It was just my thought that the focus is more on finding the 1-10 special cards (which ends the level even when cards are left) and points/money such as the multiplier in this game vs a true casual solitaire experience and that maybe if this was put into a different mode it would appeal to both casual players and those who like challenges more equally. Some levels there are few special cards and are challenging to complete without cheats and enjoyable. The professional mode is further challenging since you cannot replay levels right away to get more money for cheats like in Newbie and here the speed bonus fits.

Everyone and their grandmother has played or at least seen a version of solitaire in action. The game came packed in with almost all Windows installations, but it has also been released on consoles, on handhelds and on mobile phones. My all time favorite is still Solitaire Journey 1992 DOS mainly because it not only has 105 different versions of solitaire to play anytime but can be played in the campaign form of either a transcontinental trip or "haunted house" to navigate through a graphical house to find treasure. Of course not many are DosBox warriors these days and so this series is a bit more interesting and diverse as well than what you may have starting with the vanilla Win 95 version. It can be played casually with cheats that can be purchased with gameplay points/money.
The faster you remove cards, the better your score multiplier increasing the amount of money you get and this perhaps should be in a different mode than casual or pro. There are golden colored special cards and if you find all 10 it gives you the maximum points and ENDS the level so the focus then takes away from the fun play and more about the earning of points again which I didnt like and again think this should be in a different mode in any future version. You also cant move cards to a empty row. For this reason its not a long term keeper but generally is enjoyable to play. The graphics and sound are good at least initially, although once in awhile it reminds me of having a movie playing the 30 second preview on and on in the background without hitting the play button to start to movie on occasion.

DataDragon,
Hi DataDragon, thank you for your comment.
You can get Solitaire Journey 1992 for free HERE, though you'll need to download DOSBox (which you can find HERE) as well to be able to play the game. It's well worth the effort as there are hundreds if not thousands of games you can find on various abandonware sites, my favourite being MyAbondonware.
There's a tutorial (posted fourteen years ago) on how to use DOSBox over in the game discussion forums HERE. Ignore the link that wizzard_of_ozz posted in the first comment because it's now dead; instead, read thewebmaster's comment. You can use Norton Commander in conjunction with DOSBox, it makes it easier to run DOS Games; (however, it's now the twelfth download from the top of the page that thewebmaster posted - {that last sentence will make sense once you've read thewebmasters comment}).

Today is the cheerful yet Christmasy follow up to Jack Frost 2 that was given away not too long ago. I had praised the game because of the overall theme of the game, the ability to customize the card backs and the overall an easy to lear / pickup and play factor.
Jack Frost 3 continues in the same tradition and you may be playing for hours on end. Game is very simple you just match the cards from low to high or high to low in the sequence or rank of cards. If you flip the cards over on the bottom to get a new one and had a possible move to play, the card will shake on the playing field to remind you.
There is the ability to earn coins in game so you can make moves like undo, etc. And also achievements as well. I managed to get a perfect game in the first level of the Newbie section but the second and third hands not so much.
I like the fact that this is a premium Solitaire game and it's free from advertising unlike other websites that have free solitaire games and the game experience is distracting due to the ads. However I'm still into Monopoly Solitaire and Grand Harvest Solitaire despite all it's pushy in game micro transactions when you start the games and so forth.
You will love today's game if you enjoyed the second. Also I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and thank the GGOTD team for all the fun goodies they have offered throughout the year. Here's to another year of good fun gaming goodness (raises wine glass)
