Dear users,
The Twitter issue has been resolved!
We apologize for the inconvenience!

Alexa Bennett, already done that Task before (+10) and got no Key, now i done it again (+5) and got no Key, so whats the Problem here, i don't like to be scammed like this, if i don't get the Key i will unfollow and block that Tweet!

...........................................Moderator comment...................................

Are you using the original email you first used to log into this comments section. All codes are sent out to the original semail you used. I wasn't getting any keys for months until i happened to check an old email that i originally used to sign in. even when i used my new email, the codes would still be sent to the original email. If you first used a throwaway email, then there may be a problem. Contact the giveaway team using THIS link firstly giving evidence that you completed the tasks, include the email you used and the name. Ask them to make sure any keys are sent to that address from now. Also include your IP address. That should make it easier to trace any previous emails you may have used.

Nirantali Zorvax, I'm not dumb, of course i checked the correct Email, i mean it's even visible which one was used and also all my Emails are connected in Chrome and use the same Fido U2F Dongle so it's easy to switch Accounts and check. Whatever, i unfollowed and blocked that Tweet now because it ended and there was no Key.

...........................................Moderator comment...................................

No one said you were.

For all I know the email you used for this giveaway may not have been the email you originally used to log into the comments section when you first commented here? If you are certain you've used the same email throughout the time you've signed in here and still not received a key, I suggest you contact the giveaway team, with proof that you completed all of the tasks using the contact link I've provided in the first few paragraphs of my review above, including the email you used and your log in name. Hopefully they can then trace where your key was sent. I cannot do anything other than give advise because, I'm just a community member that has volunteered to moderate and post reviews.
When you say you didn't receive a key, I have to assume that either all the keys have been claimed, which, in which case, the giveaway is automatically closed, or you used a different email originally, or there is a problem at your end. Thousands of these keys have already been claimed, which would imply that the problem is at your end because if the problem was at the giveaway end not only would no one have received a key, we would have been inundated with complaints. I was only trying to be helpful when I replied to your previous post. No matter how many times I post something, there are always those who have either not bothered to read my suggestions previously, or are relatively new to the giveaway project, so haven't had the opportunity to see such information.

Please forgive the very late review. When I checked yesterday, this game hadn't been given a start time, so i presumed it was going to be given away at the weekend. Shortly after discovering the game had gone live my SSD crashed and I lost everything I'd prepared up to that point. I had to buy a new SSD then reinstall windows, which took me virtually all day as I had to go out to buy a new Hard Drive. Annoyingly I've also lost all the research and notes I've taken on the other games this weekend. Tomorrows review may be a little late as I'm going to have to start all over a gain.

Please only post comments about today's game giveaway; other comments either not appropriate, or not about the game will be deleted at the moderator or administrators discretion; however a little light banter among community members and with the moderator to keep this a friendly place to visit will be allowed, and will be judged by the moderator as to whether it is suitable or not to be left.
I am posting this in light of the massive increase in negative comments not related to the game being given away, inappropriate comments and spam (Almost 700 spam comments were posted in one day a few weeks ago ) that have occurred over the past several months since the site was updated and in particular since the site started to give away games from the Steam world and since they started using Facebook.
I truly believe that if we get lots of decent feedback about the games we get here, more developers will be happy to give away their games. Seeing lots of complaints (and spam) instead of feedback about the game given away will not persuade other developers to give their games away for free. So please bear this in mind when posting your comments. Any comment not about the game for example complaints, or if deemed unfriendly or inappropriate, will be deleted or added to the spam folder, which automatically black lists the IP address you used. Although I have enjoyed responding to many of those comments, I will no longer waste my time answering comments from community members who should have read the moderation policy.
Negative feedback about the games given away are always welcomed because they can also be very constructive for developers, however, complaining about the way the site is operating or problems about downloading or installing the games should be directed to the giveawayoftheday contact form which I've linked to HERE; alternatively, if the problem is game related and it is late in the day (I can't moderate 24 hours a day), please also post your issue in the forums where you may get a response from the community. Often, such problems are related to your computers set up. i.e. your security may block the installation (for example quite a few game giveaways I've installed have been blocked by my copy of Zemana Anti-malware suite) Also please read the moderation policy which can be found HERE and if you do have a problem please check the FAQ's thread HERE. Thank you.

Suggestions:

If you get time to play todays game today please give some feedback about your opinion of game play, for example, what you liked or disliked about it, or how it could be improved from your point of view . If you don't like this genre at all, please explain why. What, improvements, if any, would change your opinion? There are thousands of subscribers to the game giveaway of the day every weekend which makes this an ideal forum for giving developers ideas as to what their consumers (i.e you) would like to see in a game. For example, you could suggest extra content such as better or more original mini games, or a level editor that you would like to see that would make it more appealing to you. Maybe you think the graphics are a little dated and are in need of re skinning, or maybe you've just had enough of the genre and want to see something different or something with more originality?

If you missed getting one of the 10 000 keys given away by the developer , don't mind playing games via Steam you can get the game 24/7 via Steam HERE. It usually costs £1.59/$1.99, however, you can also get the game as part of the Groupees Casual Bundle #10HERE that also includes six other games (Revenge of the Spirit: Rite of Resurrection - HOG, Mars Simulator: Red Planet - simulator, Square n Fair - puzzle platformer, Montasayer - turn based RPG, Puzzlw Cube - puzzle, Beerman indie action). The bundle costs $2.50

Installation:

Once you've found your Steam key (should be sent to the email you used to enter the giveaway - it must be the email you first used to sign into the game giveaway site. If you’ve used a throwaway email there may be problems getting a key, because the key may be sent to that email. If you have any problems use the contact form. Hopefully the giveaway team will repost the information they posted several weeks qgo explaining the email situation). You have to activate the game via your Steam client. Once activated it will be permanently tied to your Steam profile and you'll be able to install the game at any time, anywhere on any computer, so long as you can validate who you are (usually via emails etc.). If you don't have a Steam account you will first have to download and install the Steam client HERE

Then create a Steam profile/account. Once that has been completed you can input the Steam code that you've received (after completing the form filling) via the game button along the top of the Steam client, (located between friends and Help - see image below). From the drop down menu select 'Activate a product on Steam'. This opens a product activation window. Just follow the prompts to complete activation. Once the Steam code has been accepted, the game will be permanently associated with your Steam account and can be installed any time you wish.

The Game:

Features:

1) ... Simple and addictive gameplay.

2) ... Variety of balls for games.

3) ... A variety of modes such as 1vs1, 2vs2, 1vsAI, 2vsAI other!

4) ... Online Multiplayer!

Pixel Soccer was created by Bug Studios and should work on all windows platorms above windows 7. It's abasic single player/multiplayer game in a retro pixel style with music that matches. Sound slike game si used to play 20 plus years ago. I've not played anyone online, only the computer AI and found it really hard to beat simply becasue the controls are in my opinion appalling. There is only one key that controls forward motion. Your player constantly turn, though each time you press the forward motion button the player changes the direction of roatation. You have to press the forward button when you get the correct direction you want the go to hit the ball, hitting the ball when the player is at a slight angle will see the ball going off at a slightly different angle instead of exactly forwards from your movement. I found it really hard to get any accurate shot unless I spent several moves trying to get my player in the correct position. In the end I had to give up becasue it gave me a head ache. The game has potential as a simple soccer game but only if the developer added multi directional key bindings, i.e. the WASD or the arro keys, so the the player can control direction and rotation of the player. As it stands I doubt I 'll be playing it again unless the developer adds better controls. I will keep my eyes on the developers updates to see if this does happen.

There are 8 modes of play, 1 v AI, 1 v 1, 2 v 2, 2 v AI, 1 + AI v 2 AI, AI v AI, 2AI v 2AI and Online play. In online play you can play either 1 v 1 or 2 v You can either create your own game where you will be given a room number. Others join the online game will need to know your room number before they can join your game. Same if you join other games. you need to know the room numbers before you can join. I tried about 30 different random numbers and got an error each time. My room number was 975338. Very unlikely anyone is going to guess that number, however, if you choose either the online 1v 1 or 2 v 2 any friend who boots up the game and selects that mode will automatically be connected. If you set up a game directly from the connect button. if you choose this option you will be given a room number with six numbers; so this game is going to be mainly limited to friends on your Steam list unless you are able to find a way to broadcast your room number to others not on your friends list, which isn't that easy. I was able to test this out with my son seeing as he was in the same house and it appears to work fine, though only one of us was able to move our player using the Z key as forward movement. We tried every other key on the keyboard and could not move the second player in the online game. However, when setting the game for two human players against two AI we were able to play using the same keyboard using the Z and Q keys. Finally, if you have a monitor that includes speakers, the games music and sound effects will be heard directly from the monitors speakers as opposed to any other set up you have. I use a 5:1 set up with a decent sound card, but it didn't work with this game, instead I had to turn the misic off via the button in game. There are no options as such and no way to change key bindings, nor are there any instructions to the game.

Conclusion:
Could be a fun game, but the issues with controls and the inability to play online with my son because only one of us could move spoiled the game for us. I would recommend to the developer that he adds the ability to control the players with more than one button so that accuracy ids improved.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the developer BUG-Studio for giving away 10000 keys for this retro soccer game and also to the game giveaway team, as always, for securing other ways to get free games, in this case a Steam key.

Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:

The problems section that used to be posted here in the Game review is now included in the Game Discussion FAQ's thread; which you can find HERE.

I've updated the games section that used to be posted with the review. The thread is now called 'Weekly round up of game deals', formerly the games section of the weekly reviews. You can find the new thread (which I've posted in the sticky section of the game discussion forums to make it easier to find if you are perusing the game discussion forums) HERE.

If Turtix didn't appeal, you may find other games either free or for less than the price of a cup of coffee via the 'Weekly Roundup of Game Deals' thread which I've posted a link to above, or HERE.
.
The free game over on Origin is still the excellent atmospheric Sci Fi RPG third person Shooter Mass Effect 2, but it will be ending soon. If you've still not got a copy, get it now, it's well worth. It usually costs £19.99/$19.99 (though I paid the pre-order price of over £30 prior to it's release back in January 2010) . You can get it HERE. Please note that you do require the Origin game platform to be able to download and install the game.

You will also find lots of deals over on Green Man Gaming and Big Fish Games usually have 70% off the first game you buy from them, plus they also have other deals occasionally. Desura was purchased from Bad Ju Ju games last year by One Play. If you already have a Desura account you can read details of what is happening HERE. As yet you can't access games you previously purchased via Desura (I have around 1400), but One Play are working to recover everyone's accounts and hope to do so by the end of March 2017. Indie Royale will also resume on a weekly basis, though at this time I don't know if previous Inde Royale Greenlight bundles will be honoured? Alawar, Gamehouse and Playrix entertainment have free games available (usually online versions) and other game houses such as the AAA distributors Ubisoft and Origin always have some games on sale. I've updated the Weekly roundup of game deals HERE to include a large list of other sites where you can find games on sale ( eg Origin, uPlay, GreenManGaming etc, as well as links to free online games as well as other game houses such as Alawar, Playrix and Gamehouse plus gaming news sites such as Rock Paper Shotgun and Game Seek, and included a list of free to play Massive Multiplayer games such as World of Tanks, world of warships, Liberators and Allegiance to name a few. For more details please go to the Weekly roundup of game deals over in the game discussion sticky section HERE.<.blockquote>

There are 1165 games on sale over on Steam at the moment, with up to 91% off. Game prices range from as little as £0.15p (Plasma Being, Splatter: Zombie Apocalypse, Drago: A game about a Dragon, See No Evil, House of Caravan, Squirbs), all with 91% off, and there are almost 300 games and dlc less than $1 and almost 400 for less than £1. You can find all of the deals HERE.

If you spend more than $3 in the Indie Gala store you'll also get a free copy of the atmospheric point and click horror adventure game 'Between Me and the Night' worth $14.99/£9.99. There's also a sale on over on the Humble Bundle site featuring Telltale games (The walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Back to the future, Jurassic Park Puzzle /Agent 1 and 2 etc), plus lads more games on sale. If you subscribe to the Humble Monthly, which costs $12 a month you not only get a large collection of decent Steam games you will also get for the first month of the subscription total war: Warhammer, which was released last Spring and costs $59.99/£39.99. The great thing is, you can cancel at any time, so only need to receive the first bundle of games. I personally haven't bothered, but only becasue I usually have already purchased most of the games included in the monthly bundle. The usual savings on the games you get are around 90%, not counting the introductory offer. There's also lots of games on sale over on the Bundle Stars and Indie Game Stand (IGS) stores.

...........................................FREE game offer in exchange for quality feedback...................................

I've posted a list of over 100 Steam games in the forums HERE, some of which I will giving away each week to those community members who post decent feedback for the game given away that day. It is quite an extensive list of games taken from the 10 000+ Steam keys I've collected over the last several years; all were either purchased by me, or received free for pre-ordering games on Steam, plus a few from entering competitions and other offers). There will be a limited number of other keys available, such as Origin, uPlay and Desura keys (Desura has recently been purchased following the original owners demise and should be up and running by the end of March). I will announce the winner's from the giveaway the following week. If no announcement is made, it means no one posted feedback that qualified for a free game that week. If you have won a game, I will post details in the thread I've created specifically for that purpose HERE. Once I've given a key away, the game and any comments by the winner will be removed from the list.

Depending on the quality of the feedback, I may choose to award games to more community members for each game given away, 'at my discretion'. The feedback must be about the game, and it must include a couple of paragraphs of feedback following the guidelines I've posted in the suggestions section of my review. i.e. your opinion of the game, what you liked and/or disliked plus suggestions for improvement. If you choose a game that is very cheap I may give you a second game; so, when choosing from the list I provide, please list more than one choice. If a game is chosen by more than one community member and only one key is available the key will go to the one I deem the most useful. I do have multiple keys for quite a lot of the games I've listed, so, don't be put off if you see someone else has chosen the game you want. I haven't indicated any of the games I have multiple keys for (though for example I do have several keys for the excellent Western themed AAA game Call of Juarez, which i picked up for free for purchasing several games via the Indie Gala store several months ago. spending a few dollars got me a copy of the game, so I made several separate purchases over a couple of days while the offer was still live.
I do own at least three community members a game from the previous giveaways that I posted several months ago. I'd totally forgotten about those. I do have a document with their names on, so they will get a game from the original list when I find the document (I'm extremely disorganized); or they can peruse the new list and choose something different. Just post a comment over in the forums in the appropriate thread. If you do post feedback with a view to getting one of the games and think you have covered the requirements, you don't have to do anything until I announce the winners the following week.
Please remember, this comments section is mainly for feedback about today's game giveaway. If you're not sure, read the moderation policy, which you can see HERE

Use the contact form that I've included a link to near the beginning of my review. Include proof that you completed all tasks, for example a screen capture showing the tasks completed. If you've previously used a different email, check that for the Steam code becasue all codes emailed go to the first email you used to log into this site. If you don't get any joy, you could try contacting the developer explaining that you completed all the requested tasks and maybe they will give you a key?

So the "giveaway" is now over.. I've tried many times, different browsers (mozilla firefox, google chrome, even edge) and I could never complete the facebook step. Yes, I was logged in, yes, it had my right email, twitter, name and FB logged in, same for the steam account yet nothing, it never worked for me.

You said I shouldn't use bad language (even if abbreviated), well, not that I justify myself but I was exhausted of trying, seeing how everybody else seemed to be able to get a key despite having issues with twitter (which I didn't had). Then, other users simply reported they "couldn't get a key" and they probably got one by now, who knows...

I've provided proof of error yet no comments or solutions.
Now it's over. Thanks for nothing, you now have all my social info, name, FB account, likes, groups, emails, etc to SPAM the heck of it and in exchange I got: nothing. Brilliant! (sarcasm, btw)

...........................................Moderator comment...................................

Hi Juli, was this the first giveaway you've ever tried to receive from the giveawayoftheday? If so, then I can appreciate that you may have done something wrong, which would explain why you didn't receive a key, however, if you are a regular, then it would imply something was wrong at your end and not the giveaways fault, which would mean your sarcasm was unfounded. I'm sorry you feel so aggrieved. Why not try and contact the giveaway team via THIS contact link. Explain what has happened and include proof that you completed all the tasks. I'm just a volunteer community member so I cannot guarantee anything, but it may be worth contacting them if you really want a copy of this game as they may still be able to provide you with a copy.

Reply   |   Comment by Juli  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Well, yes, this was my first time here, was a bad experience, sadly.
Sorry about before, caught me in a terrible mood, too. Hope you didn't take it personal seeing you're just a volunteer here and I hope I didn't it personal either.

Yes, you're correct, unfortunately I still don't know what were wrong and how to prevent it if I ever come back here. I've had similar issues with Gleam io before, I mean similar errors in coding which sometimes someone found out how to fix either from their end or with a script to be pasted in console by us users and that workaround got me that key that time.
I've checked other community forums to see if they even knew about this giveaway (not for me tho) hoping if they knew, they might also know how to make it work, but no dice, they didn't and since it didn't worked for other people (twitter, at first) nor me (facebook task) I didn't tell anyone. Notice a Missed opportunity there.

I don't have more proof other than the screencap I posted below; I wasn't able to complete the facebook task. There were only 2 buttons tasks and FB was the only one failing. Checked multiple times to no avail.

I won't contact anyone else, I'm just disappointed this didn't work, also that when thousands (or hundreds?) of people grab keys and then trade them or sell them around while I wasn't able to get anything, that makes me a bit mad.

Alright, have a nice life. I've learnt something new then, so half-glass full eh?

...........................................Moderator comment...................................

Hi Juli

Thank you for your reply. The giveaway team have given away around 1300 games over the last 10 years. The format has changed somewhat since the early days, but there are still arcade games given away each week, plus Steam keys fairly regularity. I wouldn't give up hope yet. I've been coming here since the very first day and volunteer to do what i do as a thank you for all the marvellous games I was introduced to in the early days of the project. I'm sure there is something that can be sorted to ensure you get keys for some games. I've posted a FAQ's thread over in the Game discussion forums, where you may find help to solve the issues you've had. I've linked to it in my review above.
Steam keys have only been available via this site since last April. since then the Steam community have become very aware of the Steam key giveaways; in fact as soon as they go live some community members post details on many of the Steam key giveaway sites. The average number of Steam community members online at the weekend is around 12 to 14 million at any one time, plus there's well over 140 million Steam users that are current,m so, 10 000 keys won't last as long as they used to when Steam keys were first given away. I'm sure there are a few unscrupulous community members getting more than their fair share of keys, but I don't think it's that many. the time and effort in scamming the extra keys, plus the advertising to sell the keys etc, for a game worth less than $2, most wouldn't see the effort is worth it because they wouldn't be getting full price for the games anyway. At the most less than a dollar. Still, I believe the vast majority of keys given out go to genuine users.

Fix it or ...removed due to inappropriate language..... , I don't know why am I the only one.. there's no ad blocker nor extension causing this but wrong code or something!

There is no need to use such language, even if it's abbreviated. No one else has reported that problem, so it is most likely a problem from your end, your security settings are something else conflicting with the site.
