Smart Reversi is a sharp-looking classic reversi game, that involves quick score changes and long-range thinking. The idea of this game is to take over as many squares as you can with your colored chips.
The rules are simple. Place your discs on the board so that opponent's discs are between two of yours, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Then the discs change to your color. The objective of this reversi game is to have more discs than your opponent when the board is filled.
This is tricky, because as the name of the game implies, swift reversals of fortune are common.

I echo comment number 10 except I won't delete it. I like Othello, but a bit of variety is great. I started playing it on the first Atari system. Many bits and bytes since then.

A nifty little time-killer. I'm glad I downloaded it. Only complaint: It fairly cries out for nekkid boobies. Very nice game, otherwise.

I'm thrilled to bits with this as I downloaded the trial after seeing it advertised next to Leaf Buster, one of last week's games given away on here, and intended to purchase it after the trial ran out, so as you can imagine I'm delighted! Don't be fooled by comments that this is the same as any other version of the game; what makes this version of Othello stand out and unique is the skill of the artificial intelligenced computer player. With 4 levels from which to choose, the Master computer player is advanced beyond anything I have ever encountered in other such versions and indeed than any online player through Windows XP built in games. For any fan of the game, this is genuinely an absolute must and due to the advanced skill of the computer, a game you should not miss out on. And as an earlier poster mentioned, don't be put off by the hearts in the logo; there are many more skins from which to choose including basic and traditional boards with the circular black and white disks.

This feels a lot like the last several - games that were the result of game developer training grounds. Sort of the "Hello World" of games. It would be one thing if Reversi/Othello were offered in an innovative or unique way, but this effectively is just a rehash of a classic game. Nothing new brought to the table. Nothing different than the dozen or so other rehashes of the classic game done by others. Pity, really.

This is one of my favorite boardgames that I used to play a lot as a kid, and, as a young adult too, and, well, as a not-so-young adult too. So thanks for this birthday present, GAOTD! (Today's my 40th birthday.) I had really been wanting a computer version of this.

Thanks for the website with all the games. Even though we don't necessarily want each one we are grateful for the opportunity to receive the ones we do. This game is great for the whole family. First of all thanks GOTD and Alive Games. I love Reversi/Othello, been playing it since I was 4. I think it's a great effort to put a little more excitement to the game with the skins, animations, sounds, displays, and numerous options. However I find it's a bit of overkill for such a classic, simple game. I found most of the skins included to be distracting, unnecessary, and sometimes annoying (just my opinion). Maybe I wanted the skins to be a bit more classy if you know what I mean. But I guess there might be some out there that can appreciate a jazzified Reversi, so this will be a good choice for them. Might be good eye candy to get kids interested too. It played smoothly and installed nicely on my system, but I will probably delete it since I prefer the simpler versions of Reversi already installed on my system (like the Yahoo widget one).

Don't be put off by the hearts picture. There are plenty of less silly skins. The computer plays well on Master setting, unlike the freeware ones I have tried. I thoroughly recommend it.
