I downloaded this game for my granddaughter and played it a few minutes myself, it was sort of fun. Then a few days later I had to so a system restore and lost the game. Where might I find the game again?

..........................Moderator Comment...........................

System restore usually recovers the registry, so, if you lookat my review to see where the default install path is, you may find the installed game there.

The install path was C:\Games\MyFarmLife_game

It's for a tiny telephone screen. Looks terrible on a full sized monitor. They could have fixed it I suppose, but plainly didn't bother.

It's a game that's described and plainly shows as designed for a tiny telephone screen. When blown up to full size on a regular computer monitor, the graphics are blocky and look terrible. Doesn't really belong here(computers vs hand held mini) in my opinion, but yours may differ if you less care about it.

Hi Peter, I've deleted your comment becasue what you were getting is certainly false positives. The giveaway team throughly check all games and have done since they started the game giveaway project back in Dec 2006, here has never been a game giveaway affected by malware.

1. What exactly is this game's REAL name? Here it's simply called "Slim", in the game (at the title screen) it says "Eat the Berry Slim", and in the Windows taskbar the button says "mr. Slim - Block Puzzle". How many names does this thing have? LOL

2. And is there really no Publisher Homepage for this game?

3. It looks to me like there are quite a few levels to this game! Pressing the "Esc" button exits the game and takes you to the level selection screen with the first time through it (I'll call "Package 1") showing "?/36"- with the "?" being the level you're currently playing. Also if you scroll to the right clicking on the right button on the screen you find more levels listed there ("Package 2" containing 36 more levels, "Package 3" having another 36 levels, and so on) for a total of 5 "packages" (being a grand total of 180 levels to play through!!). Amazing! Thank you Fly Games and Game Giveaway of the Day! I'm busy today! LOL

Hi Avid Gamer, the game is a port of the game Mr. Slim - Block Puzzle, so i'd go woith that name.

I reckon it's a bit more than a little time waster. I don't know where WR got 45 levels, but there's 5 level packs, each with 36 levels. A total of 180 for those who flunked their math exams. :) I've played the first 4 level packs and have been stuck a few times, but overall it's quite easy, and should you need them, there's built in solutions. The music doesn't bother me as I always turn it off, but a windowed mode would have been nice. I recently paid less than the asking price for Borderlands and all the DLC's (yeah, I know it's old, but it's still good) so I would be unlikely to to pay 6.99 for this. Great little game though, if you like puzzle games.

........................Moderator Comment.........................

Hi I only got a quick look at the game this morning.
didn't have time to play the game due to soething personal cropping up, only saw 45 levels in the main game.

This looks like a cool time waster puzzler for those minutes you are just waiting for something else to play a simple game. It looks like a cell phone game than a PC game. The music is awful but you can turn it off. And their icons can be difficult to figure out...maybe make them so you can mouse over them to figure what they are. Most are identifiable but a few..I was ..HUH?

Thank you GGOTD for 2 good games this weekand Fly Games for allowing us to try out Slim.

Have a good day, Wabbit. Sometimes you just have to do what you got to do.

Nice, quick game - runs fine on Win7 64-bit.

The user, however, should be warned about the big noisy advert window when closing the game. 60+s might get a heart attack.

Thanks from a survivor.

To start with its a nice little game but later is not so good. Poor instructions. On mu computer when the slim is in the ridght hand corner, clicking to move it innitiates the help. Then you caný stop it just have to restart. After restarting the level 4 times I've given up.

Cute game, but it's already free, at least for the android, I could find no website for the publisher, and not even a reference to the game on the site next to the game name at the top of the page. I don't believe this game is being sold to the PC market and is free for the android, so we are getting an already free game. If not, $7 for the PC and free for android is silly as a program like Bluestacks can play the Android version on the PC.

Oh well

It's a simple puzzle game that can get boring after a while.

When trying to move the character near the hint button, it's hard not to hit the hint button and reset the board.

#8: "I downloaded CRIMINAL MINDS from MY PLAY CITY. The VERY VERY FIRST thing I did was uncheck the boxes giving them permission to change my search provider and homepage.
BUT BUT BUT as soon as I did so, they “whited out” the NEXT button and would NOT NOT NOT let me go on to the next screen!!!"

Totally FWIW, lots of folks I imagine are moving away from XP, &/or have an old license laying around they no longer use. The My Play City sort of antics IMHO are a great reason to use that XP license for a VM [VirtualBox is free at virtualbox.org]. I only occasionally grab games from those sites, & I've still come across several that installed stuff that you wouldn't want, regardless any boxes checked or not -- many times the added software was installed regardless, with just the aspects you'd see turned off. Also from time to time Bitdefender [the security software we run] has fits with whatever GOTD download, game or software. With most all games & quite a few apps I can run setup in my XP VM, then just copy the program or game folder to win7 &/or 8.1. I store a backup copy of the virtual disk the VM uses [it's around 12 GB], & after a few such installations I copy/paste that on top of the one V/Box uses, & everything's fresh & new again.

But again that's just FWIW. It takes only a few minutes to install VirtualBox. Adding a new VM likewise takes a couple of minutes. Adding XP [or whatever version of Windows] to that VM takes as long as it did when you 1st installed it, & the updates take just as long too. However that stuff can be done in the background, & once you're done, besides the refreshing I do after several game & app installations, it's been completely painless.

Ok Win 8.1 z64 Pro desktop mode. Series of quick, sweet puzzle moves. Kinda 2D version of that plastic hand held sliding blocks toy.
Built in optional hints per each puzzle. Just did first 3 sets. Has music/sound toggles but tiny search to find that Options part. Music actually not awful. Does seem to be full screen only. Nice conversion. Does seem like something for travel time on cell/tablet more than for PC in depth gamer w/ big monitor. Arrows & Enter make it go fast. Guess 7/10 for fans. I'll give it a few minutes mid-week as artic blast 2 sets in. So wish had option to run in corner of screen so could handle more pressing matters. Thanks guys.

It's a cute little maze game. It works great on my Win 7 64.

Like Amanda (#3), it jumped right into the game but as I was backing out after initial testing, I did find the options and turned off that awful music. Then again, I ALWAYS turn off music if I can. I found one level where you had to use the keyboard arrows in spots. The silly little guy is just under the "hint" option and clicking on the arrows was interpreted as "hint" and restarted the level!

Also, like, Pizzamanpf (#6), I would like to know how to get that 3rd strawberry in level 16. I'm through the basic group of 36 with only that one "star" missing!

Yeah, it's a little time waster but most droid games are to be able to be seen in those small smartphone screens. It's still cute and I'll probably keep it just to waste a few minutes here and there when I don't want to load a bigger game.

Thanks Diane. to be honest, I rarely download from these free sites. I spend money on games virtually every day from my main gaming sites (Steam/Desura/Gamersgate/GOG/Gamefly plus a couple more); There's very few games I see that I've not already purchased previously, I already have too many of some genres such as Hidden Object and won't buy any more as they have become boring to me (well, most have) or they don't interest me. I think I've installed maybe 2 or 3 games from Jenkat since you first brought the site to my attention some years ago and then only becasue I was curious about the games.

Comment to Whiterabbit's comment to #8 concerning Jenkat. Yes, Jenkat doesn't play games with hijacking but it makes a royal mess of your Program files or Program Files (x86) by putting 2 folders in it for each game. One is in Common Files (at least they're all together there) and the other is just at the Program Files level! I have not been able to convince them to make a "Jenkat Games" folder under Program Files and put ALL their games there. At least it would be a bit more organized. Also, you have no download to use as a backup. If you remove the game, you have to download to reinstall it. I use them but I move their folders around and then fix the uninstall pointers in the registry.

Just played the game right through. It is a nice little times waster, but I doubt you'll play it all the way through more than once

Thanks GOTD. Decent quick and easy on the eyes. Music is a bit annoying but that is what mute buttons are for. Like the fact that it loads quickly (Windows 8.1) and I can see it becoming addictive.

I might comment the game after the review is posted.

HOWEVER, I have a comment about links to other games. White Rabbit, you always warn people to BE VERY CAREFUL when they download a game from one of the sites you recommend. FINE and GOOD. I was doing JUST THAT yesterday when I downloaded CRIMINAL MINDS from MY PLAY CITY. The VERY VERY FIRST thing I did was uncheck the boxes giving them permission to change my search provider and homepage.

BUT BUT BUT as soon as I did so, they "whited out" the NEXT button and would NOT NOT NOT let me go on to the next screen!!! WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? They don't really give you an option to uncheck anything. If you do, you CAN'T INSTALL THE GAME! It's all a LIE!

.............................Moderator comment................................

Hi Swamp Thing. MyPlayCity are notorious for changing their policy. Sometimes you don't have to uncheck anything, other times it's when you install the games, other times everytime you start the game up and now it seems they are forcing you to do at least one of the things i.e. either allow a tool bar/ change of browser or home page change. The last game I checked you had to uncheck the boxes every time you booted up a game. They have obviously changed again.

I think this may be because they have well over 900 arcade games now. They have to pay the developers for each different game (a set amount periodically not based on actual downloads - I believe). I think they change their policy, partly to 'force' those who download from the site to install toolbars, or force them to visit as many times as possible, because each time you visit their site they earn income. They need this to continue to give the games away. The best site to get free game from at the moment is Jenkat games.

Hello,

great game! The "Basic Pack" I've already played through.

I am now very voracious, and it would now be very happy if I can eat all the strawberries, but at level 16 that does not seem to be possible. Has there who may have an idea how to solve this level and collect all the strawberries?

Thanks to Game.Giveawayoftheday team and Flygames for this beautiful game.

Downloaded/installed fine on Vista 64-bit

Nice little puzzle game, looks good, clean graphics. Obviously meant to be a phone app, it's a lot of mouse movement over a 19-inch monitor. I just read the comment about using the arrow buttons... Doh!

I didn't mess around with it too much, mostly because it jumped straight into the game on startup. I didn't check to see if there were options to play in a window or to turn off that horrible and LOUD music.

It was all right, but I wouldn't pay seven dollars for it. Hopefully it's cheaper as a phone game.

Not a bad little game. Running win7 64bit. Had to switch compatibility to Windows XP. The game says to touch here to move, but you can use the arrow keys, which is much better in my opinion. I only did first 5 levels but looks like it would be a nice little time waster. Hope not too addictive. Thanks very much Fly Games and GGOTD.

The reference to touch here is becasue this is an app game sold for touch phones etc. :)

Sorry folks, somethings cropped up. I overslept and now have to go out urgently. I won't be back till late afternoon, so won't be posting a review today. :( The comments I've read below suggest its a worthwhile download. Simple yet entertaining.

The game is basically a port from an app game called Mr. Slim - Block Puzzle. With around 180 levels I reckon you'll have several hours of puzzle solving fun. I completed the first 6 levels in under 2 minutes (even while still half asleep), however, the puzzles to get progressively harder.

The game has cheery graphics, but is rather plain. An ideal game for the odd minutes break from more important work.

The size of the installed game is 23.5MB

Have a great week p.s. sorry for the lack of a full review today. :(
