Skyjumper is a endless runner arcade type of game with a flying parachutist as a twist. The aim is to just navigate through twisty, rock like cavern walls, avoid spinning blades and an occasional obstacle like a flying rock to survive for a period of '30 days' to get to the end (based on the steam achievements). The world of the game also randomly changes, from weather effects such as fog that make it more difficult to see, to the time of day changing and the levels are also randomly generated but mostly will look the same.
Controls appear to be only W&S on the keyboard without being able to remap them in game such as to arrow keys which should be added. The game originally makes me initially think of very old arcade games like scramble and super cobra with their twisty caverns to navigate although those had enemy ships, rockets that could launch up into you at any time, indestructible comet waves etc while this one is far more simple in its nature of mainly just navigating the obstacles and get to the end as possible.
Graphics and sound are pleasant although the fog may be a bit thick and therefore distract rather than add to the playability. Unfortunately, I found this game slightly on the harder side to play because the path ahead is quickly randomly generated as you go, the controls are not quite as precise with the keyboard vs a controller, and being a flying parachutist. Its not impossible to play as some, but one hit unfortunately will restart you from the beginning and so this type of game can be frustrating to some people more for this reason than the actual control of it. Overall its not long if you enjoy the base gameplay and want to see if you can make it to the end of the arcade like game over a short coffee break, but there isnt much here otherwise to stand out from the avalanche of good and inexpensive games that regularly come out these days, or really get someone to pull the trigger when its sold rather than given away.
