Ships of War:

In Brief:
Ships of War is an interesting take on the Tower Defense genre, with you defending a sea base. The base is surrounded by protective turrets that can be destroyed by enemy ships. Your ship can patrol the whole area. When
enemy ships are destroyed, they leave various ammunition boxes which are colour coded (see the image below). Pick up the white boxes to repair your ship. These boxes will disappear after some time, so make sure you
pick them up to restock your ammunition. If you run out, you're more likely to lose your turrets and your base unless you've gained enough cash to spend on repairs or upgrades. You can upgrade and repair the gun turrets using the two symbols' next to the turrets. (Crossed wrenches = repair, up arrow = upgrade).

As with many of these Unity based games, there's no information on how many levels there are or the number of waves in each level.
W = Up
S = Down
A = Left
D = Right
LMB = Fire
MMB = Weapon Select

If you enjoy playing tower defence (TD) games, then this one is definitely worth downloading. With a more random placement and movement of enemy ships, instead of knowing the path they will take (like in most TD games), this makes for a more challenging game. I've only played the game for a short while so far, but it's entertained me enough to keep this in my game library.

I'd score this a 7.5 out of 10 got game play, 6.5 for graphics and a 7 for re-playability, though it's not a game I'd spend more than 20 minutes at a time playing. My advice: download it and see what you think.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 60 antimalware engines. You can see the results of the installed games scan HERE

Won't run on my Win XP, SP3, 32 bit machine. Thanks, though.

I played this briefly for about 10 minutes. The game has an interesting concept where the game tests you to get even better in hunting down the enemy in the water. Perhaps in the play format of Asteroids where you were freely moving around to shoot the rocks.

Oddly the XBOX One controller works but only to move the ship around. Analog control was not implemented into this game to move the crosshair nor was any other button implemented.

If today's game is not your style of play and you're looking for some shoot em up action with a top down view check out the game Bosconian from Namco which is a pretty decent top down space shooter.

Also worth mentioning is an arcade version of a RTS called Rampart which you build walls to protect your fortress and also send projectiles
