I LOVE this game. I'm hooked. It is a simple game, but really gets me involved. I can't stop trying to burst those bubbles!!!

While Realore provides quite a few games on this site, it is disheartening that they all default to full screen mode in an era when many/most people are now using non-crt monitors with a native resolution much higher than the game's default, so everything gets resized until you are able to get into the options to change the game to windowed mode.

Once that is finally done, then game only has the one antiquated unadjustable resolution setting of approximately 640x480. Come on Realore, even Windows xp, which was released in 2001, has a default resolution of 800x600. We are now in an era where prople are buying HDTVs or monitors that provide at least 720p & 1080p resolutions and notebooks with up to 1920x1200 native resolution. With a 1920x1200 native resolution on my notebook, I can currently tile display up to 6 of these games on the screen at the same time (to give you an idea of how small it is on the screen).

If they want us to buy their other products, I would HIGHLY recommend setting the default to windowed mode & having multiple resolution options available.

I greatly appreciate everything GAOTD does & Realore for providing these casual games for my children & I to play together, but I'm not willing to buy their other products until this oversight is considered in future releases or updates to current releases. Seeing multiple resolution options on Egyptoid 2 has my hopes up that they are going to start doing this to all of their products.

Like so many of these match 3 games, this one just shows what an asshole the developer is. The 'random' selection of colors seems to somehow always exclude colors on one side of the board or the other. I look for someplace to dump ball after ball after ball. I guess these game will be un-installed.

A little too simplistic and repetitive for me. Would prefer a game with an actual story line

This is a fun game. Nice twist on the usual match 3 game. It's sort of like eating potato chips, once you start it's hard to stop.

Thanks for a great game for all ages.

Thank you Realore and GAOTD for a cute twist of a match-three game. The dsl download and setup took under 2 minutes on my Windows XP system. The music and theme is nice, and the game play is different than most match-3: using the enter or mouse to shoot the balls over/into the game field. This game could appeal to all ages, too.

Thank you so much WR-Stephen for your review. I have enjoyed other Realore games, but am not too sure just how much I will play this game. Because it is from Realore, I am giving it a try. Thanks!

This is the first game I've D/Led from Game Giveaway because none of the others appealed to me since I found the site 2-3 months ago. What I like about this game is that you can use either the mouse or the Return key to shoot the bubbles. I can even use my left hand on the Return key, to give my mouse hand a rest.

I play this type of game when I'm too tired to use my brain or just bummed out about something. I found several of this type on the internet, but I'd rather play it on my own computer--and in full-screen mode.

Thank you, GGOTD. I like it. I DON'T like the war games.

You can't win for losing, can you? When you post a really great full-length adventure game (which I already owned, but I was thrilled that others had the chance to get it), you are criticized for the size of the download. Yet, people swamped the site to get the game and you had enough downloads to keep some people from being able to register their copy. Unfortunately, although probably thousands got a working copy of the game, the majority of the comments were negative. Where where all of the comments from the people who are enjoying the game? After that, you featured things like Jane's Hotel (which I did receive from you, and I love and replay often), shooters (which I don't care for), match three games, and a word game. That sounds like a lot of variety to me, although I personally only cared for the word game and the Jane's Hotel download. I just don't feel the need to comment when I don't like a game due to the game type. If I don't want to download a game, I'm just happy for those who DO like that type of game, and I wait my turn again for the type of game I like. Maybe, if I'm patient, then another Carol Reed full-length game will pop up! That's part of the allure of the site--you never know what you are going to get, and sometimes you get a gem.

I'm not saying that every comment should be rosy and happy. If a game isn't working for you, then obviously you should comment about that. Or, if a game has a bug or something. But if it's not your cup of tea, why not be happy that someone else likes that brand of tea, and maybe make a suggestion in the forum for your brand, instead of making a negative comment here? I think that probably the people working behind the scenes went to weekends so that they can have a life, by the way, instead of doing it so that every download here will be a new game that is a massive hit with everyone. I figure they deserve it, if only for the two free games I've received from them so far. JMO.

Like everyone else, I was greatly disappointed to see the game giveaway of the day changed to weekends only. At least out of seven days and seven Free games to choose from, I could always find something every other day to keep me interested.

Now, every weekend I log on, check out the site, and find nothing but games that don't appeal to me. My gosh, bubble games are free out the wazoo on the internet. This site used to offer more - I used to look forward to checking out the offerings. Now, I don't. I can pay for my games, but why? There are so many game sites out there, why pay for a temporary diversion when there's so much free stuff out there?

That's my opinion only - so don't post thousands of derogatory responses about my post. As a graphic designer but no tech guru I would volunteer my assistance to get this site back to GGOTD.

I missed this game the first time it was given away here so I greatly appreciate the repeat performance. I am very happy to add this to my game library. Don't let some of the comments deter you from D/L this game. It's not a game I would rate a 10 but it's not too bad either. For free today I would definely recommend it. That being said I have to agree with other people commenting about the games here. When the games changed from every day to week end only it was assumed that the game quality would improve to make up for the limited offerings. That has not been the case so far. It's been repeats or something horrible like those Starship Fighter/Starship Warrior games. I don't want to seem to be ungrateful. I'm not. I greatly appreciate the games that are being offered here. I would only suggest you return to your roots. Give us some games that are worth the downloads. I have well over 2GB of games from this site. Of course all of them are not great but I try them out. The games lately have left little reason to try them. Come on guys at the GGAOTD side, pick up your game. If you want to attrack visitors you can only do so by offering fun games. That is just my thoughts. Feel free to disagree. Either way post your comments. I would love to read how many people support the way I feel or how many people think I am full of sh*t.

The game downloaded and installed without a hitch. It is a playable game but not a great game. It can be a "time-waster" for when you are not in the mood for a real challenge. The Aqua Word game was the same way but at least you worked your brain a little at the same time. All in all not a bad game, just not that challenging.

I have to agree with #22-Purple Rabbit.. nothing new here anymore. Just repeats of previously offered games. My guess is that hits to this site are declining fast and something should be done to prevent that. I hope tomorrow's game is better but, I doubt it. I mean, I love this site too but I am afraid it is in trouble. :( :(

Thanks again for another give away. I don't want to come across as a wise guy or be taken the wrong way here as my comment is not to be as snide comment, rather just my personal observation.
I was under the impression that when game give away of the day stopped the free games during the week, we was going to see new content (Games)on the weekend ? Sadly, all I have seen so far are pretty much the same content that used to be given away when it was run 7 days a week. Am I missing something here ??
Again !! just my personal observation/s. I do appreciate anything I have ever gotten here or on the software board. If I saw something I did not want etc. I just came back the next day without making rude comments like we see so much of. Afterall, it is free software and I have always been greatfull.
I do wish though, yous would at the very least update your blog on the front page.
Finally, if were only gonna continue to see the repeat games on the weekends, why not just run them back to the way it was at 7 days weekly as I have not seen really anything so smashingly great given away on the weekends like what was promoted back when the games were to be given away on weekends only.
Have a great weekend everyone.

The only thing that really drives me crazy about Realore games is that they always stick an icon on the desktop for their site too. I don't need a ton of links to the site cluttering up the desktop (I never use desktop links to go to sites anyway, I use my bookmarks for sites I like and want to go back to!)
Personally sometimes I really LIKE to play my older games...and what kind of game/difficulty etc, depends on what I'm in the mood for. Sometimes I want very cerebral gameplay, sometimes its fun to relax and just play a "childish" game.
I wish Game Giveaway would manage to give away Brainsbreaker Jigsaw Puzzle sometime, that's one I've wanted for a long time!

I have an Olivia 26" TV which I use as my computer monitor, and unfortunately for me, when I run this game (the monitor) shows "not support" and does not display the game screen. It does show as an icon in the task bar and the music plays, but no video. Is there a way to adjust the resolution of the game, when the options cannot be seen?

This is definitely not your typical "match 3" game. It's not mindless, it actually takes a bit of skill to get the balls where you need them. If you test it make sure you play past level 5 because it does increase in difficulty a bit. I'm having trouble getting past level 7 but I've only been playing for about 15 minutes. No problems on XP. Thanks guys for another "keeper".

Played it for 25 minutes in medium mode and foud it very repetetive within 10 minutes.

Basicly you only get different backgrounds and extra colors. The story doesn't really intervene with gameplay.

The color-scheme in bursting the bubbles is complicated to say the least >> good games are simple yet addicting.

This game is neither >> BIG THUMB DOWN.

hello gaotd and programmers at realore!

the best of these connect 3/4 games is:

age of japan and treasures of montezuma.

would love to see aoj II or something similar to tom.

let me know if you need someone to beta test/review it. big drawback on the otherones is how you move the pieces. aoj is preferred. you had a pirates game to and i didn't like how to move the pieces although game probably quite decent.

cheers.

Loads, activates and runs on Vista.

Like many 'Bubble Burster' games where one has to get three colours together to explode. Usual feature balls and rainbow colours. Here one has to not aim, but 'lob' then over a wall

Likeable and fun. Of course childish pictures and colours, but what else would work? The problem is that there are just so many of these games about that we have become truly blasé about almost all of them.

A few years ago we would have raved over such games; what a task a new game writer has these days. Have small downloadable games almost seen their day.

For this type of game it is quite good 7/10 for the genre.

Aquatic of Sherwood downloaded and installed in Windows XP without problems. The graphics are nice and music is appropriate for game. Game play is either puzzle or arcade style with options of hard, med and easy. You can change the shape or design of the bubbles and they are removed with a bow that that you shoot up in the air resulting in removing the bubbles from the top of the pile as you make groups of three or more. A fun and challenging game especially in the hard mode. Thank you GGOTD and Realore.:)

Hmmm...not a bad game. Nice little twist on the bubble bobble genre. I got to like level 5 and it got real hard on arcade mode.

Installed and activated on XP SP2 nice. No problems, no crashes.

I give it a 9/10.....not really my kind of game.

How about a RPG, or a RTS something like that??

Heck, how about a trivia type game, like trivial persuit or smarter than a 5th grader?

This is a great match three game that was originally given away in Jan 07and received a positive 74% of 138 votes. you ca see the previous comments by follwing the link below:

http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/aquatic-of-sherwood/#comments

There's two game modes arcade and puzzle, the difference being that in the former you have to fill the gree indicator to the right of the game board and in the latter (puzzle) you have to clear the board.

This has a different game mechanic to the usual match three bubbles game in that you shoot your bubbles from the side of the moving column of bubbles using a crossbow. Check out the images below for a clearer impression of what I mean :)

My family played this a lot the first tie it was given away.

Images:

http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=Aquatic+of+Sherwood&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2

I'd give it a 7 out of 10. If you have a youngish family this is a must have.

Thank you Realore and the game giveaway team
