I'm about to retire early for the night. it's been a long day and I'm exhausted. I will continue to moderate in the morning before the giveaway is ended. If you have any problems installing today's game, it's most likely the Themida wrapper that is causing your security to block the installation. either white list the giveaway files, reboot in safe mode with networking then install the game or temporarily turn off your security then install the game. If that fails, go to the FAQ's over in the forums HERE

If you think your comment may win a Steam key, check back later this week. I will add a comment to say whether I think your comment deserves a key. Then go post a list of at least three games in the appropriate thread over in the forums. Tinearl, i think you will have another key. seen your request for last weeks. Will sort it soon.

Suggestions:

Whether you like or dislike Secrets of Six Seas please give some feedback, for example, what you liked or disliked about the game, and how it could be improved from your point of view. If you don't like this genre at all, please explain why. Would certain improvements change your opinion? There are thousands of subscribers to the game giveaway of the day every weekend which makes this an ideal forum for giving developers ideas as to what their consumers (i.e you) would like to see in a game. For example, you could suggest extra content such as better or more original mini games, or a level editor that you would like to see that would make it more appealing to you. Maybe you think the graphics are a little dated and are in need of re skinning, or maybe you've just had enough of the genre and want to see something different or something with more originality? Giving such feedback instead of saying nothing or just saying this game is rubbish or or one word positive comments may bring more developers to the site, which could mean more and better games. Would YOU give away thousands of copies of a game (or extra content for a game) to a community that complains all the time instead of giving useful feedback? At the very least it need only take a few moments of your time. This site could be transformed if only the community would be more forthcoming in their opinions of the games they are getting for free instead of complaining about the way this site has changed or that they don't like Steam games etc64.8. If something isn't for you then move on to the next giveaway, or check out the extra's section at the end of this review; you never know, you may find something that interests you

If you miss today's game giveaway you can always get the game via MyPlayCity 24/7 HERE.

Installation:

Introduction:

In XXIV century mankind stands on the verge of an environmental catastrophe. It took a lot of time to fill the whole World Ocean with waste products. To prevent further pollution unique treatment facilities and machines that became the greatest artificial intelligence breakthrough of that time were built. Perhaps, those unique machines whose aim was to clean up pollution with purifying spheres and stop further ocean pollution, got smarter than they were supposed to be. Something went wrong and well-equipped machines made for saving mankind, started to murder marines and became new masters of the seas. Since global community was not able to stand against a new threat, it called volunteers for help. They should dive to the seas and face the mad machines. You are the one of those volunteers – so do your best to survive. In the game Secrets Of Six Seas you will be equipped with a gun shooting with purifying spheres in order to clean the seas up. Wicked machines will do their best to interfere with your work by overloading purifying facilities. You need to stop the disastrous machines until purifying structures clean up the sea. As one sea is cleaned up and captured, you will be moved by headquarters to another one. The cleaner ocean becomes, the more difficult is to purify the next sea because the machines don't know how to give up. In the stunning game Secrets Of Six Seas you will attend outstanding locations and get better understanding why the seas became what they are. Explore the seas in the Secrets Of Six Seas and don't give wicked machines capture the world!

If you have a problem installing or activating or getting Secrets of Six Seas to work please visit the problems section, which I've now incorporated into the FAQ's thread, and which you can find HERE

The Game:

Secret of Six Seas is a typical marble popper game on the lines of the Luxor and Zuma series of match three games. Game play involves shooting colored marbles at a steady stream of mable trains; the aim of which is to destroy the whole lot before they reach the tunnel at end of the track by matching three or more marbles together. Levels get harder as you progress, often with two seperate trains of marbles travelling towards the exit tunnel.

There are several powerups that help you to achive success for example, the bomb, the stopper , the slower and the reverse power ups. I've not had time to play the game long enough to see if these power ups are upgreadable like they are in Luzor and Zuma. Hopefully they are, but if not, the game is still very playable.

That's about it as far as game play goes. If you are not familiar with this sub genre of match three games, check out the videos i've posted below in the video section.

359637-secrets-of-six-seas-windows-screenshot-le

359638-secrets-of-six-seas-windows-screenshot-tw

Videos of Game Play:

if you see game play videos of Secrets of the Six Seas HERE, HERE and HERE.

Conclusion:

Secrets of the Six Seas is a standard marble popping match three, with fish. :) It's worth downloading if you like this genre. It's n ot the best in my opinion, but still playable and therefore worth the effort of downloading. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 for game play (when I compare it to my favorite marble popers Zuma and Luxor.

Unfortunately none of the really good marble poppers are available free from the usual free game sites like MyPlayCity, Gametop, Jenkat Games, FreeGamePick and TooMky Games. You can find some of them free to play online at various online sites such as MSN games HERE (Luxor: 5th Passage), or the original Luxor on zylom HERE. Steam sell a Luxor pack that includes all of the Luxor marble popping games (7) plus Luxor Mahjong HERE. You can also get Zuma's Revenge HERE and Zuma Deluxe HERE, plus several other marble poppers HERE

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank MyPlayCity for giving away Secrets of Six Seas and also to the game giveaway team, as always, for securing more games

Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:

The problems section that used to be posted here in the Game review is now included in the Game Discussion FAQ's thread; which you can find HERE.

I've updated the games section that used to be posted with the review. The thread is now called 'Weekly round up of game deals', formerly the games section of the weekly reviews. You can find the new thread (which I've posted in the sticky section of the game discussion forums to make it easier to find if you are perusing the game discussion forums) HERE.

If today's game giveaway 'Secrets of Six Seas' didn't appeal, you may find other games either free or for less than the price of a cup of coffee via the 'Weekly Roundup of Game Deals' thread which I've posted a link to above, or HERE.
The free game over on Origin is still the excellent atmospheric Sci Fi RPG third person Shooter Mass Effect 2, but it will probably be ending soon. If you've still not got a copy, get it now, it's well worth. It usually costs £19.99/$19.99 (though I paid the pre-order price of over £30 prior to it's release back in January 2010) . You can get it HERE. Please note that you do require the Origin game platform to be able to download and install the game.

You will also find lots of deals over on Green Man Gaming and Big Fish Games usually have 70% off the first game you buy from them, plus they also have other deals occasionally. Desura was purchased from Bad Ju Ju games last year by One Play. If you already have a Desura account you can read details of what is happening HERE. As yet you can't access games you previously purchased via Desura (I have around 1400), but One Play are working to recover everyone's accounts and hope to do so by the end of March 2017. Indie Royale will also resume on a weekly basis, though at this time I don't know if previous Indie Royale Greenlight bundles will be honoured? Alawar, Gamehouse and Playrix entertainment have free games available (usually online versions) and other game houses such as the AAA distributors Ubisoft and Origin always have some games on sale. I've updated the Weekly roundup of game deals HERE to include a large list of other sites where you can find games on sale ( e.g. Origin, uPlay, GreenManGaming etc, as well as links to free online games and other game houses such as Alawar, Playrix and Gamehouse plus gaming news sites such as Rock Paper Shotgun and Game Seek, and included a list of free to play Massive Multiplayer games such as World of Tanks, World of Warships, Liberators and Allegiance to name a few. For more details please go to the Weekly roundup of game deals over in the game discussion sticky section HERE. Check out Delenns comments from yesterday. she posted links to some free games and dlc for a free to play game that are worth checking out.

There are 659 games on sale over on Steam at the moment, with up to 91% off. Game prices range from as little as £0.15p (most of these cheap games are actually cheaper in the UK than the US, so if you are a US citizen and have a UK friend, get them to buy the game for you). There are almost 100 games and dlc less than $1 and over 150 for less than £1. You can find all of the deals HERE.

If you spend more than $3 in the Indie Gala store you'll also get a free copy of the old school anime rpg '200% Mixed Juice' worth $6.99/£4.99. There's 80% off the Sacred franchise pack and 75% off the excellent open world zombie game Dead Island (I had many hours of fun playing as a lone wolf and with friends wandering about this island - brilliant game. There's also 90% off the A New Beginning: A Finnal Cut for only $0.99, plus there are loads more deals with excellent discounts that you'll find HERE.

The Humble Bundle site has two excellent bundles plus their monthly package that is excellent value for money. A new monthly bundle has just gone live a few days ago. There are two game bundles, the Humble Civilization bundle that includes Civilization III, IV, V and 20% off Civilization VI, or 25% off the deluxe version. Plus the ArmA (Armored Assault) bundle that includes all versions of ArmA plus the original Operation Flashpoint which combined with it's expansions (Red Hammer and Resistance) was renamed ArmA: Cold War Assault for the 10th anniversary of the games release back in 2011 (The game was originally released in 2001). The ArmA franchise is my favorite FPS game ever. It's nothing like the run and gun FPS game slike Call of Duty. ArmaA is a tactical FPS game with realistic tactics and the last two in the franchise also look amazing, with large islands to explore as well as eaqsily created content through the level editor, plus literally thousands of extra missions downloadable directly from the Steam workshop or from the dedicated ArmA site Armaholics. ArmA 3 is amazing, but ArmA II is also brilliant despite being almost 8 years old. The Humble store features loads of discounted games (usually Steam codes). If you subscribe to the Humble Monthly, which costs $12 a month (or less if you choose various monthly plans) you not only get a large collection of decent Steam games you will also get for the first month of the subscription The Witness (worth £29.99), which was released last year (Jan 21016). The great thing is, you can cancel at any time, so only need to receive the first bundle of games. I personally haven't bothered, but only because I usually have already purchased most of the games included in the monthly bundle. The usual savings on the games you get are around 90%, not counting the introductory offer. There's also lots of games on sale over on the Bundle Stars and Indie Game Stand (IGS).

Giveaway Team Contact and Moderation policy:

Continued from the first paragraph at the beginning of this review ........... I am posting this in light of the massive increase in negative comments not related to the game being given away, inappropriate comments and spam that have occurred over the past several months since the site was updated and in particular since the site started using Facebook, Twitter and Steam. Almost 700 spam comments were posted over a 24 hour period back in January. This is a site that gives free games away, so it's quite shocking to see the number of negative and sometimes inappropriate comments being posted here, especially when they are not even related to the actual game that we receive. I always though getting something for free was a privilege/perk/treat/ and deserves at least some thanks or gratitude and cannot understand why we get so many negative comments that possibly turn away potential developers who would otherwise have given the project their games. Of course we have freedom of speech, but as mentioned in my review above, there are rules to posting in this comments section; even a free society requires rules and regulations to run properly, so please bear this in mind when posting a comment. Thank you.

I believe if we get lots of decent feedback about the games we get here, more developers would be happy to give away their games. Seeing lots of complaints (and spam) instead of feedback about the giveaways will not persuade other developers to give their creations away for free, especially when they may have spent thousands of hours working on them. So please also consider this when posting your feedback. Any comment not about the game for example complaints, or if deemed unfriendly or inappropriate, will be deleted (usually with no explanation) or added to the spam folder, which automatically black lists the IP address you used. Although I have enjoyed responding to many of those comments in the past, I will no longer waste my time answering comments from community members who should have read the moderation policy.

Negative feedback about the games given away will always be welcomed because they can also be very constructive for developers, however, complaining about the way the site is operating or problems about downloading or installing the games or about Steam keys not received should be directed to the giveawayoftheday team via the contact form together with evidence of completed tasks, the name and email you used to enter the competition, or giveaway). You can find the contact form HERE; alternatively, if the problem is game related and it is late in the day, please also consider posting your issue in the forums where you may get a response from the community because I cannot moderate 24 hours a day. All games given away here have been thoroughly checked using several anti malware suites to ensure a safe download and in the 10 plus years this site has been operating, there has never been a game infected with malware. If your security software flags an issue, it's probably the Themida code that is used to protect the game from hackers or sometimes the non invasive adware that MPC games use. Themida code can also be used to hide malware, so some security software's will automatically block anything with Themida code, even if it's absolutely safe to install; also, other computer configurations (i.e. the way your computer is set up) may have blocked the installation. Often, such problems are related to your computers set up. i.e. your security may block the installation; for example, quite a few game giveaways I've installed have been blocked by my copy of Zemana AntiMalware. Also please read the moderation policy which can be found HERE and if you do have a problem please check the FAQ's thread HERE. Thank you for reading.

FREE game offer from the moderator in exchange for quality feedback:

There were more winners for posting good feedback, which I mentioned in reply to their comments. Some I haven't as yet notified and those that have won do need to post a comment in the appropriate thread over in the forums with their section of games they wish. I cannot sort this today becasue something has cropped up and I will be away all day, but will endevour to notiy anyone who has won a key that i haven't already. If you do see a reply to your comment that says you've won, please post over in the forums with a a couple or more game syou'd like, list in order of preference. First come first served if more than one chooses the same game. If you think you wrote feedback that may win a key from the last two weeks, do please check those comments on Monday evening to see if I've left a comment letting you know you've won a key, then go to the forums and let me know what you want. I'm hoping to add more games to the list soon. That said, I do have multiple keys for some games so if you see someone has requested a game you also want, but were there before you, still list it as I may have more. :). I've been very busy since last weekend so haven't been able to sort this. One particular community member has excelled and will be receiving yet more keys. He knows who he is I've already given a couple away so far, but I'm still waiting to hear from others.

So far I've posted a list of over 200 Steam games in the forums HERE and will be adding more as time permits over the coming weeks. It is quite an extensive list of games taken from the 10 000+ Steam keys I've collected over the last several years. All keys were either purchased by me, with a few received free for pre-ordering games on Steam, plus a few others for entering competitions and other offers). There will be a limited number of other keys available, such as Origin, uPlay and Desura keys as well as some DRM copies. Desura has recently been purchased following the original owners demise and should be up and running by the end of March. I will announce winner's from each giveaway the following week. If no announcement is made, it means no one posted feedback that qualified for a free game that week. If you have won a game, I will also post details in the thread I've created specifically for that purpose HERE. Once I've given a key away, the game and any comments by the winner will be removed from the list the following week. I will assume if you don't reply within a few weeks you aren't bothered about a key. Please post your preferences (list at least 3 games in order of preference over in the forums HERE. Thank you. Happy gaming.)

Depending on the quality of the feedback, I may choose to award games to more community members for each game given away, 'at my discretion'. The feedback must be about the game, and it must include a couple of paragraphs of feedback following the guidelines I've posted in the suggestions section of my review. i.e. your opinion of the game, what you liked and/or disliked plus suggestions for improvement. If you choose a game that is very cheap I may give you a second game; so, when choosing from the list I provide, please list more than one choice. If a game is chosen by more than one community member and only one key is available the key will go to the one I deem the most useful. I do have multiple keys for quite a lot of the games I've listed, so, don't be put off if you see someone else has chosen the game you want. I haven't indicated any of the games I have multiple keys for (though for example I do have several keys for the excellent Western themed AAA game Call of Juarez, which i picked up for free for purchasing several games via the Indie Gala store several months ago. spending a few dollars got me a copy of the game, so I made several separate purchases over a couple of days while the offer was still live.
I do own at least three community members a game from the previous giveaways that I posted several months ago. I'd totally forgotten about those. I do have a document with their names on, so they will get a game from the original list when I find the document (I'm extremely disorganized); or they can peruse the new list and choose something different. Just post a comment over in the forums in the appropriate thread. If you do post feedback with a view to getting one of the games and think you have covered the requirements, you don't have to do anything until I announce the winners the following week.
Please remember, this comments section is mainly for feedback about today's game giveaway. If you're not sure, read the moderation policy, which you can see HERE

HI,

The game took a few minutes to download and opened fairly quickly. The graphics are very good. The story sounded good, but the set up is simply shooting balls at the snakelike line. I played awhile, until I reached the shoot 'em up section and became frustrated receiving try again repeatedly. Do not know if will try again. Would rather that section just be a score and move on from there. I do like matching the snake line, but do get frustrated and or bored after awhile. Thanks for another good game and have a good week, Lee

Hey Wabbit,

I love a Zuma and Luxor clone. No problems with My Win7 PC with Comodo AntiVirus. Nice and bright, cheery music. I do like the fact you can go back and redo levels. I do thank my lucky stars for Fences(StarDock) that I got in a Humble Bundle software pack for a dollar. When I finished playing, my desktop was a mess. Fences takes a pic or more a day; so all I had to do was press "Restore" and my desktop was back in order. :)

Thanks for the review, Wabbit and many thanks to GGOTD and MPC for the chance to play this game.

Huggles to you and your family. Happy Archery!

No other bubble shooter can compare to Zuma and Luxor, but this one is pretty good considering it is free today.
No problems installing to and running with Win 7 upgraded to Windows 10 64bit.

Thanks, Game GAOTD and MPC!

I agree, Both the Luxor series and Zuma series are brilliant. I often play both when i'm in the mood for bubble popping fun.

I first tried this on a Win7 machine. After tapping once to fire, if I kept my hand on the trackpad, the ball kept firing. I had to move my hand away to make it stop. When I right-clicked to switch balls, they then switched rapid-fire constantly, and I couldn't get it to stop. This made the game unplayable. I tweaked compatibility settings, to no avail.

So I switched to my WinXP netbook. The game wouldn't launch because the resolution was too high for the display. I don't know if that's because I had played the game on a larger display to start with. I ran a1ctl and upped the resolution to 1024x768. Then I could launch the game and lower the resolution to 800x600. I've run up against this problem many times and think games should adjust resolution automatically or ask the player to change the resolution so the game can launch.

Performance was fine in WinXP but there were display glitches. A number of objects, including the track that the balls run on, were blank white. It was playable but not as much fun. I'm guessing the machine's video is just too low-spec. :-( I may try another machine but for now am tired of attempting workarounds.

My thoughts based on playing just one level:

I was excited to see a marble popper on offer. Love this type of game. I like the goal of releasing trapped fish. The 3D perspective was a challenging twist for me. Also, the elevated tracks can't be targeted (at least not in the part I played), so that too added to the difficulty.

The upbeat, clubby gameplay music is suited to the underwater theme. It reminds me of "Everybody's Free to Feel Good (Aquagen/Venture Bros. remix)" but less techno-ey.

The visuals are pretty, colorful, and sharp. Not having elements display is a reminder of how important cohesive, immersive game play is.

The level of challenge seemed fine to start with, though I suspect it would become stressful for me. I always have to take breaks from marble poppers, but when I come back, my game play has usually improved enough to progress a bit further.

There's not much to say about the storyline without having played more of the game.

I like what I played and would recommend giving it a try.

I have learned about and enjoy so many types of games--including marble poppers--thanks to you, Whiterabbit, and this site. And thanks to MyPlayCity for offering it.

I also think this site and others like it give good feedback about the games (and other software) they give away. It is vital to find out about possible problems and negative situations before downloading and installing games (and other things). Much more than getting a free game, the information given in the comments section, either by the moderator or other users, is invaluable.

Thank so much for a fun game. It's a slightly different twist on the match 3. I found it a little more challenging because the balls keep changing color.

Windows 10 x64 Pro fine. Full screen, usual options. Honestly I usually hate these marble games as they get super hard at higher levels. BUT so far just in beginnings it plays pretty fair. The Cold Sea did move fast at points but if catch the extra bonus pieces (bomb & such) it helps slow down the flow, give aim, blow up, etc. Hopefully that level of fairness remains. One can replay a level which helps since you'll have gotten familiar with the changing layouts.
Certainly worth a shot (lol) for those unsure about this game style. Thanks GOTD.

Comments on Game: Secrets of Six Seas
I have not played a lot of this type (bubble pop/match 3) but will just give my impressions.
Idea behind the game is good - trying to rid sea of pollution caused by machines/submarines.
The colors are quite vivid and pleasant to my eye - these would even make nice screen backgrounds.
Gameplay: starts right in after you are told why you are cleaning the seas; after you finish the first round it then tells you about fish getting in the way and how to move them - though I find that they don't always move even if you hover over them; it also then tells you how to pause game; you get information about how you did but after 5 rounds I still don't know how I am getting "Fish saved"; there is also a combo bonus but I am unable to find an obvious explanation for what the combos are; the levels tell you to click to start them but they still start on their own fairly quickly even if you do not click; I failed the 2nd level and it told me to "save more fish"; there is no vertical movement to shooter so there are loops in the track where you cannot land any balls; there is a tornado/waterspout looking shimmer that occurs at times but no explanation given for what it does or what to do about it; a log book shows up at times after you finish a round and will give some brief explanation.
Overall it seems to be a decent game of its type - I can understand not giving instructions for how to play the game if you have played this type before but I think any game should come with basic instructions on gameplay and especially about how they determine your score and what any bonuses mean and if you fail and it tells you to save more fish, somewhere it should tell you how that is accomplished. If this information is present and I missed it then I apologize.
On a positive note, it has a useful exit button on screen that immediately exits the game without asking 2 or 3 times if you really want to exit.

..I love these Marble popper games. This one here is the best I've played so far. I like it because it has Modern great graphics, easy or simple to play, but also has room to grow. It doesn't become too challenging to fast- At just the right pace. On my win10 64 pro machine it plays great- I had a little trouble with Exterios, and Alien shooter td had a wrong size window so graphics were elongated and I couldn't play. Absolutely no problems with Secret six sea's Marble. I highly recommend this one. Very easy and Fun with a capitol F to play.

Bullseye does not not align up to the target! Very difficult to switch users or choose different options. Running Win10 but running in compat mode for win8 didn't help. Crosshairs still don't line up to the target, you must be slightly above the target before clicking on it.

Whiterabbit,
It might be a good idea to put something in every game review, reminding everyone to turn off their antivirus when trying to install these games.
I don't think everyone is getting the message from our subsequent posts.

That said, I was glad to see this game, since the similar one that was given away years ago I lost when I had to change computers. I always liked these games, they're more challenging than a standard Match 3, and it gives you more game time trying to win.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think i used to before the site changed. I decided to try and cut down on the size of the review (not that i've been that successful). Will reconsider this and add a note to the installation section. would probably save me a lot of time replying to comments. :)

I like this style of game, but this game left me a bit frustrated. I missed what I was aiming for a little more often than in most of these style games, not sure why yet. Having the fish that swim in the way was as annoying as having one of my cats walk between me and my laptop, although the fish are easier to get rid of, lol!

I didn't play long, but so far not a bad game. Would like the ability to "buy" bonuses for when I've missed my shots a bit too ofen.

Thank you for the game!

It seemed like nice shooter game.
However it makes me feel giddy as the shooter is really floating, and the row of balls are sometimes wider than the screen, which gives another movement. (whether in windowed or full screen mode)

The most I can play is two levels at a time, so maybe it's not a game for me.
The power-ups are given generously in the first levels and they are to be used immediately.

Nonetheless, thanks for the nice game; the last months we can't complain about the games given away :)

The game installed ok on windows 10. Unfortunately I couldn't play it because on the first level which seemed to be a zuma type game the balls came out too quick and the only way I found to stop it was to left click on the touch pad. There doesn't seem to be any tutorial that I can find when I go back to the main menu. I will persevere with this game though and try and work around the problem, if anyone could give me some ideas of what to try I would be grateful. The graphics are great and I like the ambient sounds especially.

Installed the game, started it, it crashed.
Tried again, same result.
Downloaded from myplaycity: same result.
Running windows 7 64bit
Pity, looks like a nice game.

Try disabling your security temporarily or installing in safe mode with networking.

John,
Hi, I'm running Windows 10 64 bit, game downloaded and installed fine, plays without issue. I don't think your crashing problem is the game files themselves, it could be your antivirus program or something else.

Helen,

thanks for the suggestion, but no way I am going to shut off AV even for a minute to install a game...

...........................................Moderator comment...................................

If you are not happy to shut off your security then try to white list the giveaway files with your security or reboot in safe mode with networking. That way you can still install the game. The giveaway team have been giving away games for over 10 years and have never allowed a game infected with malware to be downloaded. The issue is the Themida code used to wrap the game executable. The giveaway team were forced to add this some years ago due to come community members posting you tube videos and on blogs how to circumvent the wrapper and get a full copy of the game that could be installed any time. The Themida wrapper stopped that easy hack (wasn't an actual hack, just required a good knowledge of windows). The only other alternative is to get the game directly from MyPlayCity. it's basically the same game except it may have an advert showing while the game is booting up and when you first install the game you would need to uncheck the three check boxes otherwise you'd find a new toolbar in your browser as well as a different browser provider and a new MPC home page.

I'm interested in any explanation regarding, or suggestion to overcome, a problem that is affecting both this download and stopped me from accessing yesterday's giveaway. Both instances the 'setup' has failed and crashed (creating the 'auto-report to Microsoft' alert). The 'post activation' popups, from giveaway and the redirect to the games-site, still seem to work and the message that the 'game is activated' comes up, BUT the game has neither downloaded nor activated due to the set-up glitch. Thanks, in advance, for any ideas.

I missed your comment last week. The giveaway is protected by a wrapper made with a Themida code. This actively protects the executable from being hacked. Unfortunately some anti malware programs also block programs using this code; they are tagged quite wrongly as Trojan, but are not. The game is safe to install, though you will need to either 1) ... temporarily turn off your security, 2) .... white list the giveaway package with your security or 3) .... reboot in safe mode with networking, then install the game.
The giveaway team have been giving away games for over ten years and no game has ever been infected with malware. also, it it was true then this site would have been swamped with comments about the malware

Al, not sure this is your issue, but it sounds like your AntiVirus may be blocking the executable. Although this has been a common issue due to the wrapper (which looks like malware to the AV but isn't), I never had a problem until very recently. Now every download from here, I have to turn my AV off for 10 minutes just for the install; then I can turn it back on and all is well. Because that never used to happen, and I haven't changed my AV, I just assume it's something in the wrapper that's changed, or the AV definitions got tougher.

The tipoff to me is your mention of the post-activation pop-ups still coming up---that's what happened for me, too, leading me to think it installed, but then it wasn't there. If you're comfortable doing so, try turning off your AV for a few minutes just to run the setup and then turn it right back on, and see if that helps.

Thanks neme. :)

neme, It's been my experience that your anti-virus program is probably blocking installation of the program. This is certainly true for AVG, and I'm sure that other antivirus programs will also block installation as well.

To overcome this, I right-click on the AVG icon in the system tray (lower right, where the clock is - you may have to click on the arrow expanding the system tray to reveal the icon), and select the "turn off" soft switch about midway down the display panel. You'll be given a choice over how long you wish to disable the antivirus - I choose 5 minutes. That should give you enough time to install the game before the antivirus turns itself back on.

Other antivirus programs will have a different means of temporarily disabling protection. It's important to turn your antivirus program back on if it doesn't do so on its own after a set period of time.

Good luck!
