Saving Sunrise is a Survival game with a top view. The goal is to survive and wait for rescue. At night, Zombies come out of the woods and want to devour the hero, you need to hold out until morning and clean up the dead, a little respite during the day and night again...
You need to collect resources, build your shelter, hold the defense, and also need to make sorties in search of ammunition and medicines.
Infected people differ in several parameters, some of them are more contagious and can infect you... if you do not take the vaccine, your health will slowly melt. Zombies are persistent and will try to get you or break your fortifications, prevent them or have to build anew...
With each new night, there are more undead and more dangerous specimens appear, more furious, fast and contagious.
Kill all the zombies and live until dawn!

The Game:
You can get the gist of what Saving Sunrise is about by reading the introduction above. Movement is accomplished using the WASD keys, To build your base you need to collect resources then to use or build use the E key. If you become infected by zombie bites your health bar turns red. You can heal yourself using health packs and antidotes, but you need to find these first then return to the vault and go to the health or antidote symbol. There is an indicator that will tell you how many health packs and antidotes you have. The vault is located in the central part of the level. You can build a wall to protect the vault by picking up resources then going to where the dotted line is and pressing E. You need to see the hammer symbol before you can build the wall. If a zombie is on the opposite side of the build wall to you it will try to destroy the wall first before attacking you.

As you survive each night, the game becomes harder as you'll find more zombies that are harder to kill and more dangerous. Build your base as quickly as you can to help your survival. Damaged wall sections can be repaired provided you have enough resources.

Key Bindings:

WASD = Movement
E = Build
Vault + E = Restore Health
LMB = Shoot
TAB = Base position
1,2 & 3 = inventory items
Conclusion:
The only issue I found with the game was building the walls. You have to position your character just right to get the hammer symbol to appear. Otherwise I found the game very playable. It's basic, but an ideal accompaniment to a cup of hot tea or coffee and a couple of biscuits or a slice of cake (if you're allowed to eat and drink at your computer. :).

Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 56 antimalware engines.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that only opens your browser once to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and also places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed).

The installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page following the games installation, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. Once you've installed the game, there are no more browser redirections. This is because Falcoware removed their installer over a year ago (that installer would show an advert for a game and then open your browser each time you played and then closed the game down.)

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Whiterabbit-uk,

Other Free Games:
Please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE and HERE for the latest non Steam and Steam freebies. Also for the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see 100% off.

Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; recent additions include Pixel Puzzles 2: Christmas ( a traditional style jigsaw puzzle game), North (asylum seeker game), Snowball (A more "discovery-based" approach to pinball. Learn the secret rules of the board to access hard to reach places and rack up HUGE SCORE BONUSES, which are generally agreed to be more important than any other current event in the real world) and the full version of Die Young (you play as Nehir, a field agent of a well-known political party. The party's agenda is to deconstruct and eliminate Brother n.1, the leader of Island's community); we were previously given the prologue version, (which is still available free) Recent games such as Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner and Contract with the Devil have now been removed. All remaining freebies can be found in the showcase section (around 100 are available). Not all games that go into the showcase remain free, so you should grab them as soon as you can.

Over the Christmas period Epic games are giving away a mystery game EVERY DAY . Each day, the new game will go live at 11am Eastern/4pm UK time each day. The deals are live for 24 hours only, so check the site everyday HERE to see if it's a game you fancy.

As a newly certified Furniture Arrangement & Relocation Technician, you’ll take on moving jobs all across the busy town of Packmore.
Mystery Game (£?) - 29th to 30th December - live later today -
I'll be removing the following section soon as no one appears to be interested (not a problem).

If anyone has TheHunter or Second Extinction on Steam; or who got the game via Epic when they were free and is interested in playing some co-op with me, please leave a message in the thread I posted over in the forums HERE; I'll then contact you via the email you've used for your forum sign in and I'll send you a link to my Discord channel and make some arrangements to play. I've been playing both games regularly this year (approaching 700 hrs for theHunter and over 250 hrs for Second Extinction). I've found playing with friends much more enjoyable than solo. If you are new to the game and are maybe shy online, then I will help you get to grips with either game. I've always been quite shy when online and always treat people with respect. I don't swear and conversation is usually just about the game; at least until I get to know the people I'm playing with. I've made some very good friends around the world since playing my first online game back in the early 2000's. If you only have theHunter base game, when playing coop with me you will be able to join any of the 11 reserves that are available and explore them, as only the person running the server requires the reserve. Any thing you unlock while in my server will be saved and added to your reserve if you later decide to purchase those DLC reserves that you don't already have.
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be) where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best. A more recent addition that is worth checking out are the Fanatical bundles (that used to be called Bundle Stars) that you can find HERE.

Cave Story®'s Secret Santa is still available free over on GOG; when I first posted this over a week ago, it wasn't actually available; you will need to revisit the page to claim the game if you tried grabbing it last week).

I'm offering a Steam key for the above games to the first person who asks. Only one per community member; however, if there are more you would like please add a second and third choice - if no one claims those titles over the next several days you may get a surprise later).

Please check Steam to see if the game will interest you first. I'm really busy, so may not respond until late in the day or even tomorrow. If someone has already asked for a particular title (unless it's a second or third choice), please don't ask again as the first person will get the key. I 'may' include more titles later. I have thousands of spare keys from Bundle Stars (now called fanatical games) and other indie bundles; but I recently read on Fanatical that all keys sold by them are not guaranteed after a certain time, so it's always recommended to redeem them sooner than later. I gave away a large number of Indie Gala Steam codes last year to a friend and almost all of them had been voided, even though they had never been redeemed. Many of the keys I've given away have been pre Summer 2017, so there's a chance those may be invalid even though they have never been redeemed; however, so far all of the keys I have given away recently i.e. around 100 games (that to purchase when not on sale would have cost well over a thousand pounds ) have activated on Steam. Though none were from Indie Gala.

Whiterabbit-uk, Maybe we make a poll about how many users on this site have capable hardware, for running smoothly the decent games? (hahahah!)
I think this may be the main reason for the disinterest in playing TheHunter or Second Extinction!
Most people on this site probably have hardware that runs okay, the "light" games that are being given away! :-P

My specs: AMD Athlon II X2 270, 6GB Ram, Nvidia GT630.

Whiterabbit-uk, I wanted to try a new genre. Never tried city building games. So here are my three games.
Megapolis (isometric city builder)
Romopolis (time management colony sim)
Townopolis (isometric city builder)
Wish you well. I always read your reviews about free games here. Keep it up!

PS - Please give me game at the very last of your offer period. If some one else wants these games then they should be prioritized above than me.

hatson,

Hi hatson,

I've emailed you the code for Romopolis; if no one claims Townopolis by 8am, Monday 3rd January, I'll also send you that key.

Megapolis has gone to a close friend.

In the email, I'm made some suggestions for some excellent alternative city builders such as Cities Skylines, the Tropico franchise (there are six games in the franchise), Surviving Mars and FrostPunk all from steam or one of the Sim City games via Origin.

All the Steam games on sale at the moment with very good discounts. All of the ones I suggested from Steam (apart from the Tropico franchise) have been given away for free via Epic over the last two and a bit years. (i.e. 6/4/2021 - Frostpunk, 12/18/2020 - Cities: Skylines, 10/10/2019 - Surviving Mars.

Also, you can get Tropico 5 via the 'Build your own Strategy Bundle' from Fanatical Games for only £0.89 by selecting the first of the three choices; i.e. just the one game from the bundle. (there are three options, 1 game for £0.89, 5 games for £2.69 or 10 games for £4.49). Amazing bargain......

I would like "In Celebration of Violence" if it is still available, my second choice is "Razenroth".

Thanks for you generosity and Happy New Year!

Space,

I've emailed you your first choice. If no one claims Razenroth by next Monday morning 8am UK time, I'll send you your second choice.

Hey Wabbit,

I'll take Road to Ballhalla(Love a litte timewaster Rolling ball/marble game) OR Megapolis( I have the other 2...Rome and Town). Only if no one else has not asked for them. It's not like I don't have any games. :)

You have a nice New Year too. It's going to be quiet. Just like last year.

Huggles to you and the family.

Hey Wabbit,

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I got Unpacking. I get to take things out of boxes and decorate rooms. No lifting,
just decorating and moving them around and the Boxes disappear into thin air.

I can't believe no one has claimed The Mims yet. They are so cute and fun to take care of. It's a better version of Spores. My only gripe was you can't just save. You have to complete the level.

delenn13,

I thought the games would have been snapped up? I'm going to leave them up for the weekend, then see if anyone in my Steam friends list wants them. I thought it was a nice gesture for Christmas. One thing, it's helped to confirm, I think most of the old Bundle Stars keys are still valid; which is good news.

Have a fantastic New Year.
