The Game:
From Intenium, the makers of the equally awesome Insider Tales: The Stolen Venus 2 and Tulula: Legend of a Volcano, comes Sandra Fleming Chronicles: Crystal Skulls, a hidden object adventure with heavy emphasis on the latter. Sandra Fleming cuts out most of the casual stuff we see in modern games, leaving you alone with a strange world with nothing but your wits to get you out. It's a challenging and intriguing game that goes to greater lengths to satisfy your puzzle solving itch than most other games of its species!
Summoned to the museum by a curator friend, you learn of the legend of the Crystal Skulls, relics of the old world hidden away by the natives of South America and sought after by conquistadors. The museum has one of the skulls, but now, information has surfaced leading to the remainder of them, sparking your pal Tom to head out on an adventure. You quickly follow, landing on the beach ready to scour the landscape for clues.
Sandra Fleming Chronicles: Crystal Skulls is much more adventure-oriented than most hidden object hybrids out these days, and for that reason alone, you should try it. You'll spend most of your time searching scenes for the odd item or two, poking your cursor around sparkling areas and investigating small mini-scenes within the larger areas. Often times you'll come up with a useful item or two, stashing it in your inventory for later use. Only when you collect the right things can you start solving puzzles, and even then you'll find you have to go exploring to pick out more necessary objects.

Puzzles take the form of multi-part riddles that require several items as well as some sleuthing on your part. For example, early on you'll be confronted with a locked safe with a three-digit combination. Normally, a casual adventure game would throw the numbers on a piece of paper and place it right in front of your head. In Sandra Fleming Chronicles, however, you'll learn these numbers one at a time, but only if you're paying attention to your surroundings. They're never thrown right in your face, forcing you to actually get involved in the game!
Sandra Fleming Chronicles: Crystal Skulls isn't quite your ordinary hidden object adventure hybrid game. In fact, in several areas it goes out of its way to be just the opposite, preferring not to hold the player's hand and opting instead to throw you in head first to see if you can survive. Fortunately, even for non-adventure game buffs, it's easy enough to stay afloat, as the difficulty level won't drown you as long as you keep an eye peeled for random clues hidden right in front of your face!
Sandra Fleming Chronicles: Crystal Skulls has a lot of nice animations that are both fun to play with but also serve to liven up the hidden object scenes. Some of them add a bit of depth to a scene, like doors that open to conceal items hidden on shelves, or things you have to repeatedly click to swing them out of the way. Try clicking on everything, see what moves!

Sandra Fleming Chronicles dares to do what every other popular hidden object game does: provide a challenge and draw the player in to the game's world. If the same old formula is what you're looking for, this game probably won't please you. If you want something different enough to be satisfying, Sandra Fleming Chronicles: Crystal Skulls is worth downloading today!

Conclusion:
Following my last foray into this game three years ago, I've played it further this time and although I'm not enamoured of most Hidden Object games these days, having played far too many over the years when they first became popular; what I have played so far is very playable and I would recommend downloading it today, especially if you missed it the first time around almost three years ago or if you would like another crack at it.. :)
If you miss today's game giveaway you can always get the game free 24/7 via MyPlayCity HERE; or If you prefer to purchase the game you can get it directly from Big Fish games HERE
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank MyPlayCity for giving away Sandra Fleming Chronicles: Crystal Skulls with the toolbars etc removed and also to the game giveaway team, as always, for securing other ways to get free games.

Other Free Games:
The latest game from Epic Games is now live and is called Frostpunk it's a society survival game where heat means life and every decision comes at a price. In an entirely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. You face the task of building the last city on Earth and securing the means necessary for your community to survive, which you'll find HERE. It ends tomorrow Thursday 10th June at at 4pm (UK time/11am EST), where it will be replaced by a mystery game. If you play online with friends there's a decent PvE/PvP free FPS game called Scavengers and you can still get the clicker RPG Idle Champions as well as other multiplayer games. I've been posting redeemable codes (time limited for 5 to 7 days from the day of posting) for free chests over in the forums HERE. They contain various items that boost your heroes abilities and health as well as affect your group of heroes in game, for example potions that boost health or DPS, contracts that can improve armour or weapons already used by the heroes or other contracts that add specific amounts of gold to your bank as well as items of jewellery, armour or weapons that buff your characters stats. I don't usually play clicker type games, but this one is well supported by the developer and has a massive following. I'll be posting codes for as long as I continue to play the game. I've posted some help sheets and links to a game wiki via the above link as well

Please see Delenns threads for Steam and Non Steam freebies HERE and HERE respectively. It’s worth adding these to your favorites and checking regularly for available freebies. Most are only free for a specific time. If you miss the deadline you’ll miss out. Once added to your account, it’s yours to keep. Delenn has recently posted details of more Steam games that are temporarily free. One may be until it leaves early access??? - i.e. Tower Ball - Incremental Tower Defense plus a reflex game called Keyboard Killers are still free. Delenn posted details of a free origin came called Battlefield 4 which is available for free if you have an Amazon Prime account (If you like FPS games, it's a brilliant game to own.

You'll find hundreds of freeware games of all arcade and indie genres on Itch.io and Caimans Games as well as other sources. Please do check out the game discussion forums for older posts HERE (the sticky section is useful). Many of the earlier posts may be out of date with respect to the links I and others have provided to the free games; however, you only need to know the name of the game to find most of them via other sources. Many of those games from 2008 to around 2017 were posted as part of a project to supplement the lack of weekday games when the game giveaway went to weekend only games around Easter 2008 (mainly instigated due to the financial crisis of 2008) until November 2018 when Falcoware stepped into the weekday slot; however, from around 2015 onwards we did start to get the occasional Steam key for various games offered as limited giveaways, with a restriction on the number of keys available (anywhere from 25 to 2000+). These included over 60 decent AAA games and indie arcade games ; for example some of the better AAA games included , lucky Warhammer: Vermintide 1 & 2 plus DLC for version 2; Dreadlands, Mount & Blade: Warband, Immortal Unchained and Conan Exiles.

I've not posted details of any Indie Gala freebies since my older computer went on the Fritz back in October last year. Since then Indie Gala have added quite a few more free games, some of which are definitely worth downloading. You can find the latest freebies HERE and their showcase list, which includes all the freebies still current; (many of which have been included for a couple of years now) HERE.

It’s worth adding these links to your favorites and checking regularly for available freebies. Most are only free for a specific time. If you miss the deadline you’ll miss out. Once added to your account, they are yours to keep. :)

Hints take ages to recharge. Makes it a slow game to play & finish.

Hallo Jochen
Manchmal gibt es welche, die man auf Deutsch umstellen kann.
Ich übe damit auch gerne Englisch, wenn man aber total nichts versteht, ist es natürlich nicht lustig.

I don't seem to be able to match the arrow with the dartboard. In a walkthrough I read that you have to go for the bullseye, but whatever I do... it is nog successful so far

tiscrea © - The Netherlands,

I used a hint to finally get there. As I recall, you had to pick-up the arrow and 'launch' it from far back, almost from where you get it, just above that counter area there. I hope that helps.

tiscrea © - The Netherlands, Look to the right edge of the screen after you pick up the dart. You'll see a red targeting sight. Center that and it should be fairly easy.

jboy, Thank you for your help. I also used a hint, but that only points you into the direction of the arrow, which I already found. I will try and "stand further back" to throw the arrow :-))

"Application encountered unrecoverable error" upon trying to launch. Installed on Win 10 with all Windows Defender things turned off; didn't turn them back on until the installation went okay and finished. Ever since I've moved to a new laptop with Win10, I've had issues here with launching these games, even though I first turn off all four modules of Windows Security. I turn them back on after install, but before launching. Any suggestions? I would have liked playing this game, and turning off all four modules each time (as opposed to when I used Avast and could turn it all off in one stroke) is a real pain.

Beautiful graphics, and I love the small animations on each screen.

Lovely game! I enjoyed playing it. (I'm still in the first level.)

I really liked the slight animations on each screen. This gives a life-like feel to the screens -- it makes you feel like you are really there at that exotic location!

Only thing I didn't like about the game is that, unlike other HOG games, this game does not "maintain a journal" of your findings. So, if you see anything you think is important (such as a clue), you would need to make a separate note of it.

Other than that, I think this is an excellent game!

It has been awhile but I remember enjoying this game. I had lost it at some point so am happy to download it to play again. As I recall, it is a challenging, though very playable, HOG with some good puzzles. The adventure theme draws you in. Just read Wr-UK's review and he covers it perfectly! For any parents who may be apprehensive seeing "skull" in the title, it is a mystery not horror so wouldn't be scarey for the younger folks. Just FYI.

I know this is probably not so helpful but just wanted to add a positive comment and say thank you to all involved for giving this game to us.

It's World Environment Day. Keep that in mind as you go about your day. I won't post links but you can do a search on that term to read about it and get involved. It is just so very important! Thanks.

Oooh! Nice!

I think I missed this first time around, looking forward to it. :D Looks like a lot of fun and nicely frustrating: great!

MANY thanks to GGOTD, Inteium, and MPC for today's game.
