Take a long ride on a train to the state of Alaska in search of piles of gold! Help rebuild towns, hire and feed your workers, and mine all the gold you can carry! Be careful, there are sure to be obstacles in your path. Overcome anything that stands in your way, and grab up the precious gold in Rush for Gold: Alaska! Family troubles are always hard, and overcoming them can be extremely difficult. When the bankers came knocking, and the doctor bills started piling up, your family was all but torn apart. The great trip to Alaska can be the saving grace for your entire family, or it could be a complete waste of time. It is up to you to make sure the gold comes back home! Build, fight, and trade your way to the top! The gold rush is on...will you catch the wave?

The Game:

Apart from Hidden Object Adventure games that have flooded the casual games market over the last several years; another genre that seems to be equally popular is Builder Time Management games. Unlike Hidden Object games, these Builder games are quite like each other and so, it is very difficult to make the game unique, however, Rush for Gold did a great job on that subject.

Rush for Gold features a rather fresh story about finding gold in Alaska; at least it is not about rebuilding another kingdom or tribe or whatever. What’s better is that the story stays with you throughout the game and it is being told through a few dialogues between levels.

Rush for Gold: Alaska starts off with an innovative, Hidden Object mini-game where you are at the train station and the passengers seem to have lost their ls; we wish the developers would add more of this kind of levels in the game though. Despite its unique first level and the original theme, the main Builder game play of this game is not very unique. It is also feel pretty repetitive as in every levels, you have to complete similar tasks – some puzzles or variations between a few levels might sound like a good idea.

Anyway, the visuals in Rush for Gold are gorgeous and one of the best we have seen in a Builder game. All characters look nice, scenes are detailed, colours are vivid and very beautiful. The music is also well composed as well as the sound effects.

Rush for Gold has all of the features we are looking for in a good Builder game from the ability to assign tasks without the need of waiting for the workers to complete their jobs, the workers also do not need to go back to their Home base before starting a new job. We must say that Rush for Gold is quite a challenging game especially if you want to achieve 3 gold stars in the Advanced Mode; these stars are important because they can be used to buy decorations for the village. Luckily, there is a Relaxed Mode you can choose to play if you do not want to get all stressful because in this mode, you will always get 3 stars no matter how long the level took you.

Problems getting the game to work:

If you're having problems installing or activating or getting Rush For Gold: Alaska to work please visit the FAQ's Thread HERE and read through the communities comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted, for example, a common issue seen since the Themida wrapper was introduced three years ago is that some community members installation of the game are blocked by their security because Themida code has been known to hide malware, (usually an error message is flagged for example 'The executable is corrupted' even though in reality it is not); so as a precaution some anti malware programs will block and even delete the suspect installation files even though the files (i.e the setup, read me and setup.gcd files are actually totally free from malware. This issue can be solved either by rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking or a quicker method is to temporarily turn off your security software to allow the installation. You could also try whitelisting the setup.gcd file. In the almost 11 years this game giveaway site has been operating there has 'never' been a game given away that was infected with malware.
