HI!

It took a few minutes to download and opened fine. The graphics are good! There is a drag in the
cursor and no option to return to a windows one, which I would prefer. I played 2 levels and bought an idol. On the next level there was a notice about gaining coins and to collect before disappear, but the game froze and I could not do anything. I could not return to a main page and start over etc. I don't know if its a fluke or will happen again. I will try again when I have more time, but games rarely freeze on my 1 terrabyte computer. Thanks for another good game and hope having a great Fall! Lee

Unable to get a download that worked through GAOTD. Tried 3 times with virus software off and 2 computer restarts. Went to product home page and worked first time also for free.

If you are too late to download it here, you can visit the home page. The download there states "This game is Free. No time limits! File size: 66.16Mb".

dadams,

Thanks for posting.

I'm wondering whether that is a temporary offer because this game is still being sold elsewhere, for example on Steam for £3.99 HERE and Big Fish Games HERE.

That said, i've come across this before where a well known developer decided to make a couple of their older games freeware, yet i kept finding the game son sale via various reputable distributors. I wonder if the developer is aware?

Robin's Island Adventure
In Brief
Robin's Island Adventure is a match three and hidden object puzzle game. It's quite old as evidenced by the slightly grainy (pixilated) graphic, however, this does not detract from the game play which is very playable. It's a casual arcade version of a survival game where you have to help Robin survive being stranded on a deserted island (though in reality it does have indigenous people living there) while she builds a boat to return to civilization. You can see a slide show of over 80 images covering the first 19 levels of the game HERE

Introduction:
There is an island in the ocean that's lost in the fog and absent from all geography maps. The seafarer suffers a shipwreck and gets washed ashore an island. He attempts to find a way out, as he develops a relationship with the natives. The ultimate objective is to build a ship and leave the island. But first the player must build a house, a boat, and other strategic objects, all the while helping the natives with their problems. The final task is to build a vessel and sail away. The point of the game is to complete the levels Match 3 and receive access to Hidden Objects and Puzzles, at which point the player can begin to build objects.

The Game:
The game first gives you the choice of playing in either a timed or un-timed (relaxed) mode. There are a variety of match three modes such as clear a path, remove objects such as stones and anchors or the collapse type mode where you click on groups of three or more groups to remove them. When completing some levels you reveal and unlock hidden treasure chests that contain useful items such as a plan for building the boat Robin requires to escape the island, or the framework for the ship. You will also find various parts of the ship as you progress through the game when completing hidden object scenes. You can see the progress of your ship being built via the ships progress screen. Other match three levels end with a puzzle piece that leads to a mini game. You can choose to solve the puzzle immediately or skip it once the skip button appears.
When you complete a level you earn money, which can be spent in the shop to purchase artifacts that will help you complete various match three levels. The first artifact to become available costs $5000 (I earned almost 6.5K after the third level), and can be used to destroy a specific chip/tile and four surrounding chips. Other artifacts cost increasingly more for example, the next totem costs $25K and will destroy vertical columns of chip/tiles with a lightning strike, the third $50K, fourth $75K and the last one costs $100K. These power ups once purchased can be used multiple times in the match three mode, but they do take time to recharge, much like the hint button in the Hidden Object scenes. There are also power ups that appear withing the game grid such as explosive tiles that destroy all the tiles that surround them and coins that add to the money you earn for completing a level. These must be clicked on before they disappear otherwise you lose them. As you progress through the island you will come across significant areas such as the village. You get a new set of tiles for each of these new area's.

The first hidden object screen didn't appear until at least five match three levels had passed. These levels enable you to find other parts of the ship you will be building for example ship supports; these are used to keep the ship from keeling over due to the shape of the hull. There's a trophy room where you'll find various awards for completing levels in specific ways, for example completing a mission without using an artifact, not using a hint when playing one of the hidden object scenes, completing a level in under 10 minutes and completing three mini games successfully.. There are twelve awards to collect. I was awarded this after using an artifact, so the game could be bugged.

Conclusion:
You can read other comments about today's game HERE, they are mostly negative, but personally I disagree with a lot of what has been said. Despite its age, this is a decent match three with hidden object elements and a reasonable story line with building elements and mini games included. There are two modes of play timed and un-timed, which for me is ideal. That said, its a very easy game to beat, so would be ideal for families with young children. the puzzles are simple but endearing and the variety of match three games are as good as some of the A class match three's i've played over the years. The hidden object scenes are very easy, but can also be reasonably challenging, especially if your eye sight is failing. The build a ship component of the game was a little disappointing, but okay. I'd score this a reasonable 7 out of 10 for the variety of things to do in the game and the family oriented game play. Graphics are a little dated, but that doesn't detract from the game play or the visuals. I liked the variety of tiles used in the match three puzzles.

Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:
Thanks to Delenn for the heads up on Dog Duty an isometric real time tactical game that's free on Steam HERE at the moment. The deal ends tomorrow, the 11th November 2019. Don't forget that Epic Games have two new games to give away this week, i.e. Nuclear Throne a post-apocalyptic rogue-like top-down shooter and Ruiner a brutal action shooter set in the year 2091 in the cyber metropolis Rengkok. Next weeks game starting on the 14th November is called The Messenger a classic action platformer with the main protagonist being a ninja. The game soon unravels into an expansive time-traveling adventure full of thrills, surprises, and humor. Finally check out the forum thread I've posted HERE regarding a share of the rewards for subscribing to the Humble Monthly bundle. Though Delenn has mentioned that the Monthly bundle will be changing format from December.
For anyone interested in trying out the Elder Scrolls Online for free. They have a free to play event that ends on the 13th November HERE. Itrt includes access to all area's of the game, that are not inc,u=luded in the base game, i.e. all the add ons and dlc's that have been released since 2014. I play ESO regularly and have clocked well over several thousand hours since the Beta program back in 2013. A brilliant role playing game IMO, with a massive open world to explore in either first or third person viewpoints. I've recently posted a review/ my thoughts on the game over in the forums HERE and will be adding further information such as examples of various regions of the world called Tamriel. There's also links to the first two elder scrolls games released in 1992 and 94 called Arena and Daggerfall. They have been free to download for years. They are dated, but are still excellent games, though you may need to run them through DOSBox?
