Installation:


Riddles of the Mask downloads to a 47 MB zip file that unzips to three files, (a setup.gcd security wrapper, the set up file and a read me). Those with multiple hard drives are able to save games on any drive they wish. The newly installed game is 48.6 MB in size. The game installs to the following path by default, but can be changed by the user if you prefer:

C:\Program Files (x86)\MyPlayCity.com\Riddle of The Mask

Four shortcuts are installed to the desktop. three of which can be safely deleted (Play Online Games, MyPlayCity Games and shortcuts to a free online game which vary each week). Also, if you don't like icons installed to the quick launch task bar, make sure you uncheck the box when the additional tasks window appears (after the Select Start Menu Folder window)

The Game:


Riddles of the Mask is a basic Fill and Cross game where you have to fill in the correct squares using the clues located along the sides of the grid. You get two chances at selecting the wrong square then have to start again. If you complete a puzzle with no mistakes you get three gold stars. The first several puzzles are quite easy, but as the grids get larger they become harder to figure. Cash is awarded for each completed level, more if you don't make any mistakes. This can then be used to buy extra mistakes or refilling your hints etc. You can blank out a square by right clicking on it, this can help stop you accidentally clicking on a square you know to be blank.

Conclusion:

Personally I find these logic games a little boring, but if you like games like minesweeper, hitori, picross, nonograms hanjie, nurikabe.and sudoku puzzles you'll probably like this game as well.

Thanks. It's been a sad time, but also one of rediscovery. Some of my cousins I'd not seen since my mothers funeral back in 1995, two of which were very close when i was a kid and teenager. we all grew apart when my grandmother passed (the same day as John Lennon Dec 1980). I've reconnected to them and also promised to send them all copies of the photographs that I've been scanning since I heard the news of my uncles passing. I've had thousands of negatives that my grandfather gave me 30 years ao, that have been stored in negative files, but never removed in all those years. There are many images that my cousins and aunt will appreciate. also, I've finally got hold of some of the cine film that my grandfather took. He recorded the family gatherings, christenings, vacations etc from the early 60's onward to his passing in the early 90's. He was friends with a cinematographer called Sam Hannah, who inspired him to film events that took place over those years and he also inspired me by letting me help him in his dark room when I was a kid and he gave me my first SLR camera when I was only 8 years old (it was a cheap Zenith camera, but it took excellent pictures. I've just purchased a cine film editor and splicing tapes etc as he also took a lot of footage of flowers, wedding cakes etc, which I'm going to cut out of the family stuff, then send it all on to a specialist cine to digital company who scan every single frame instead of filming the cine via a camcorder. I'm looking forwards to doing that as I've not seen any of the footage since my grandmother passed 36 years ago. So, despite it being a sad occasion, it has helped to mend fences that had grown between family.

The game installed without issue. I agree with earlier comments about the poor contrast in color on the tiles defined as "no". One other issue I've seen with the game is that the slider for in-game sound does not stay where I put it. It always defaults back to full volume, which makes the end of round sound quite loud. The music slider stayed where adjusted without issue.

I'm enjoying working my way through the levels. They do get harder quite quickly, but this is good as it makes my grey cells work harder. As others have said, I would prefer the 'cell unoccupied' symbol to stand out more. Otherwise a good game, thanks for making it available.

I really like this type of game (really a skill builder) and haven't seen many of them come through. My only negative comment is that the "X" is too pale and looks like the blank space to my old eyes. I would like the , the blank space, and the filled space be significantly different from each other so you can tell where you are during the play.

I love Nonogram puzzle games.
thank you so much game give away of the day and my play city for offering this to us :)
It downloaded fine (I always have to turn off my antivirus because of the wrapper) installed fine also.
I played the first 8 levels. Game play is good. what you would expect from this type of game.
I like that you can repeat the levels if you don't get all 3 stars.
My only complaint would be that I think the instructions at the beginning need to be a little clearer. I had trouble finding the switch to switch to the x's . I knew there had to be one from playing this type of game but I didn't get where it was and how accessed from the instructions, just to change to the x.
(and also the sound for completing the level is very loud and jarring compared to the regular level of sound as DelennDax7 had already mentioned. )

I do like this type of game and unlike others, the empty spaces in a lighter colour suits me fine, I prefer it over the dark X.
The playing field is more clear this way as well as the pattern.

Problem solved. As I said in my earlier post, the email link they sent was dead, but finally I analyzed the link and found that they had left out a dot! When I manually copied the link and then added the dot first, it worked, and I was able to d/l the game, install and play a bit, and now post a review. Hope that helps anyone else who experiences the problem.

I do enjoy the riddler type puzzles, though they seem basically exactly the same. And I never like that the early levels are VERY easy (which is actually good for beginners or very young kids) and the later ones, which get a bit harder, don't always rely on logic---some are hard because you just have to guess, which doesn't feel as challenging as using your brain :).

One thing I didn't love about this one compared the usual is that the marks to indicate a "no", instead of being a nice dark X, are very faint circular marks so not always easy to see.

Fill and Cross: World Contest and the Fill and Cross: Trick or Treat series are still my go-to favorites. This one I'll probably play through and then uninstall, but only because I have others. I'd love to see one of these with some sort of extra "twist"!

Though I enjoy HOGs, M3s meh, it is great to see this genre.

The game works well. Some people like this kind of game and others do not. The only problem that I have with it is that the marks for "nothing in this square" are a light blue and i find it difficult to see. It would be good to have an option in the settings for either a colour or a pattern to identify Yes/No that would be the best for the user.

Nice game, simulair to the World Contest Fill and Cross, but with a different theme. Smooth installation, easy to play first rounds and getting more difficut with each level. Fun to play four or five games a day, and less when the grids are growing to a difficult level.

I would improve this game with multi colours in large grids. Those are the levels I really love to play. Or perhaps a 3-d puzzle to end the level. Or a mixture of logical puzzles.

Well, I love this kind of game! I love how easy it starts out but I DO hope it gets more difficult as it goes along. I love how we can redo a level until we get a full 3 stars on that level. The only thing that's odd is how loud the final winning sound effect is! I don't want to turn off sound effects, I like them! But, I think the final sound needs to be adjusted a tad bit to be more even with the other sounds. But, yes, you can adjust the sound for the effects it's just that that final winning sound isn't equivalent to the rest of the sounds. And the music's nice too but I didn't want to keep that on, sometimes I do like to keep it on.

Just to update, the download link sent to me is still not working, so I requested one again, but that's not working either; I think it may be the same one. When I do further diagnostics, I get this report: resource (gamegiveawayoftheday.com) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts.

Obviously, the links to the forum, etc. work fine (since I'm here :)), but the download link doesn't. Although this isn't a review (since I can't d/l the program to review it), I'm posting in case others are having the same issue.

My thanks also for today's game. My FAVORITE genre. This was the first time I had issue with downloading, but as suggested in previous posts, just bypassed the anti virus. No problem. I have a very positive about this game to others like it I play. I like the pink highlight for column identification. Up and down as well as side to side. As I get older my eyesight truly appreciates this feature. I've played the first 40 levels so far and no problems. Thanks again.

This game installed ok on windows 10. Its a good logic solving game. The one thing that would help is having different levels of difficulty. The tutorial is good and the graphics and game play are ok. Thank you MPC for offering the game today.

I have only played a few levels of this but it is quite diverting and makes you think a bit. I had a similar game from here a while back but it got too hard for me, so great to have one which starts with the easy levels!
My main point in writing this comment is that I solved the problem with the games from here not installing. There was no error, but it would just go straight to the activation stage, no set up. I disabled my virus checker (Avast), and the set up worked OK. I have had the same anti virus for a long time, so they must have changed something.
I right clicked on the avast icon in the notification area, chose 'Avast shields control' and then 'disable for 10 minutes'.

Barbara, After a few successful games installed on your PC by GGOTD- then you may not need to tempturnOff... Your Anti-virus any longer, as it will know its good or whitelisted..
