Whiterabbit-uk, I think it was given away 2017-04-15 from the MyPlayCity.

Marek, good catch! And it helps because that listing says that it is NOT just a 64 bit game. Probably works on old 32 bit systems too. I'll download and test. Thanks!

Sorry, meant to get to that right away, but didn't. But, confirmed, and please forgive the caps: PLEASE IGNORE THE SPECS. THIS GAME IS 32 BIT COMPATIBLE. So, those folks with older machines need not skip this.
Standard grid puzzle game. Not sure what all the ambience and things about masks are, you go right into the game with no story mentioned. At least I did. Maybe I accidentally skipped it. Or maybe it will come up later. Really, not much in the background to suggest much locational charm in the 1st level. Haven't finished that yet, so maybe later. But, not absolutely necessary. As said by Jason, goes right into the tutorial, but it's not particularly detailed as far as I can see. Just a couple of levels. Very basic.
Also, as others mentioned, the key difference is that this game does not use right click as a way of marking a cell as empty, and it will actually record a right click as an error. Having to shift a slider to change left click from filling a block to marking it as empty, is, of course, and extra step, and a source of a few more errors in the long run, especially if you're used to the right click option. Though this 1 does have the cancel function, which not all do, to allow you to cancel and action before your finish it, like retracting a move in chess by keeping your hand on the piece until you're sure it's the right move.
Thanks, GGOTD & Toomky for the game, and the community for the good feedback.

A few minutes ago I've downloaded the game and compered the 2 zip files .
The one from 15-04-2017 is larger than today's zip file .
15-04-2017 : 47,0 MB (49.385.472 bytes)
10-12-2022 : 43,6 MB (45.727.744 bytes)
I had the game installed back at 2017 , but in case that today's ofer is a different
version I went and install the game again .
When I started the game it remembered me (Player name) and allowed me to continue
from the point I have stopped playing back at 2017 .
After that I am pretty sure that the 2 games are the same .
I don't know why they have different sizes .
The only thing that I can think is that back then , MyPlayCity was installing a lot more
than just the game (Online Games etc.) .
Maybe this is the reason for the size difference .

I don't enjoy having to manually click every empty square before the game will be completed. This free online nonograms game fills them in automatically as I work through the puzzle. There is a lot that I like about the site, hope you check it out.

Maybe someone would like to check it out.

Naomi V Snider, thanks. To clarify, folks, Naomi's site has nearly 1,000 puzzles. Interestingly, they are not exclusively 5x5 grids, and, I have to admit that I thought this was necessary, but it, obviously isn't. Some of these are MASSIVE. The site has a very detailed search function - so you can select puzzles which suit you - and a search for the puzzle with the highest difficulty rating gives a puzzle that's 120x120! Also, all of the puzzles are printable, if you want to pencil and paper it, or take them with you. I assume there are nonograms for your phone, but have never verified that.
The site will probably take a bit of getting used to because, though it's in english, it's translated from Russian, and solving the grammer will take you a bit, but doesn't look overly difficult. The site has a considerable amount of playing options, so you might want to take a bit to decipher some or all of the instructions before you dive in. For example, you can search for black and white or multiple color puzzles, you can turn the colors off for greater challenge I believe, and you can turn the titles off, so to not have that clue as to what the underlying pictures are, so, again you might want to familiarize yourself with the options, 1st.
Thanks again, Naomi!

Johan Ente,
Thanks Johan, I totally forgot to check to see if this one had been given away before. Though it was a new one. :)

Johan Ente, oops. Saw Marek's post 1st. But thanks to you too. You're correct. And the specifications on that earlier giveaway do not say that this is an exclusively 64 bit game. So folks with older machines can probably play too. Thanks again!

If you've played the other Griddlers games you won't need an introduction to this one as it's basically another theme within a game. The graphics in game are nice however and one thing I've noticed that unlike the previous giveaways, the tutorial starts right away and there are no separate areas to optionally enter them if you wanted. A good example of this one is Magic Griddlers 2.
It's not really an issue as nobody can actually solve these in record time as it's meant to mathematically challenge your mind to see the little object on the screen once the squares are correctly crossed off.
While this game is free today, 8 Floor does have their games they rotate regularly for sale on Steam. There are quite a handful of titles on sale right now for 49 cents a game but the reviews are mixed, especially on this Picross game from them:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1044950/Picross_Hansel_and_Gretel__Nonograms/
Of course Steam I think tends to have a different audience on these games versus the traditional games we've played on there. FPS, RTS and so forth so the opinions vary.
Overall it's a fun little game that continues the Nonogram theme, perfect for your weekend coffee and enjoying a puzzle or two.
