I wish you would limit the voting and commenting to people who actually download the game.
This is a good game, and people that don't download it and make negative comments make it difficult for others to judge the game.
This is a good solitaire game with an enjoyable difference from other card games. Strategy does count, and a little forethought and experience improves your score!

Thanks for the great solitare game, loaded easy as pie for this beginner in pc stuff, played all 3 versions and liked them. Neat twist on an old game.

Even though this game got so many negative votes, I like it! It's easy to play, but still challenging.

#31 and others
I have noticed with many GAOTD games and some programs that they register and run fine when I am logged on as Administrator, but they run as time-limited demos when I log on as any other user (without Admin rights). I am using Win XP (SP2) and I am sure it has something to do with where the game stores its data files. I'm equally sure this is the result of sloppy programming.

If you frequently have this problem and use Win XP - try logging on as Administrator and play the game from there, OR right-click on the game icon on the Desktop or in the Start menu and select "Run As..." In the resulting dialog box, pick Admin or the user name you gave your Admin account from the drop down list. You will also have to enter the Admin password.

I have no idea how this works in Vista.

#26, Teri
The object of the game is to remove all cards - including those in the center piles - by selecting (clicking on) TWO cards that add up to 13. Kings go by themselves, since they total 13 alone. Aces count one, so match them with a Queen to remove them, for instance. Did you read the instructions?

#28, Jahala
Did you remove the cards in the center as well?
What the instructions do NOT tell you is that you also must remove all the cards in the center. Click the upside-down pile to turn those cards over two at a time. Start removing these right at first because you will need the cards in the circle to get rid of many of the center cards. That is where you must use strategy.

You haven't tried very hard to find your Egyptian Solitaire. Looks like it has mostly been released for Mac OS, but look at these sites.

www.kidsdomain.com/down/mac/egyptsolitaire.html $5
http://casdra.com/macos/index.html#Egyptian $8
http://www.download.com/Pyramid-Solitaire/3000-2647_4-10428676.html free

Also do a search for "Pyramid Solitaire" and you will probably find many more free ones.

I think it looks great, but won't download this time..
I do love the variety of offerings; something for everyone.
I love screen savers too, so hope that we will still see one from time to time/
Many thanks!

oohhh. we aren't complaining about it being free. we are complaining about the quality. dont u think that potential consumers might want to voice an opinion for software developers...so that they may actually earn our money instead of tricking us with bells and whistles?? come on..get real....tell them how u feel.

double ur trouble. double ur fun? is this a double entendre? how many times do i have to match the color? maybe double is the amount divided by itself that adds up to the iq of the company?

Another one that's not to my personal taste, but that's OK - You can't possibly please everyone all the time. I still appreciate the variety offered and that most recent games have been aimed mainly at adults.

I'd like to agree with the suggestion regarding a re-offering of each month's biggest 9and often coolest) games (300MB+ perhaps) one more time at the end of that same month ('Second Chance Sunday' perhaps?). After all, there are numerous reasons why many people can't get those big games downloaded, installed and activated in one day - dial up, working all day, lost connections, etc, etc. It would generate enormous good will for both GGOTD and the software companies that participated.

Just my tuppenceworth, you understand!

Again, keep up the good work!

I believe in the end, all are happy with you guys. I guess yous can't please everyone all of the time, no matter free or not. Have a great day GAOTD team.

I have played this game before, but it was so long ago I forgot what it was called. It is fun, but too easy. How can it be a new game when it has been out before? I will probably uninstall this game before the weekend is out. Play is just to easy, no challenge at all. We want games that are challengin.g Other games DoubleGames have created have been goof, but not great. Some I have thought of enough that I would pay the price they wanted for their games. I say keep the DoubleGames games coming!!

The fact it is supported on a wider variety of Win OS's is a bonus!

#38, not everyone runs out and updates to the latest Windows. There is no reason to. I know people who still run Win95 and in some cases Win3.11 as it does everything they require an OS to do.
Vista is for the most part a home OS, most corporate systems won't run it, they have remained with XP and in many cases have no intention of ever supporting Vista.

The wider the OS support for programs on here the better!

Some suggestions for the developer:

1) In native English, "fun" and "funny" are not the same thing. Fun means enjoyable; Funny means laughable. Maybe that mode should be called something like "Training" or "Practice" or---as mentioned earlier: "Untimed", "Non-scoring" or "Relaxing". Hopefully, all the modes should be "fun", not just that one. :)

2) The 8 of Diamonds card only has 6 diamonds on it, unlike all the other 8-cards, which have 8 spots. This is confusing and inconsistent.

3) The "USERS" screen should not come up first every time. Have it come up first only if there are no users or more than one user.

4) Some mention should be made in the "INSTRUCTIONS" to the 2 additional places for cards next to the deck. Regular solitaire players would understand their purpose, but those who've never player before could be confused about them. Also, a note to the fact that Kings are playable by themselves since they already equal 13 would be helpful (although not necessary, of course).

5) The seconds shown on the Timer would look better and be more consistent with other similar games if they all filled up 2 spaces. Numbers less than "10" would show as "01", "09", etc..

6) As another "Hint", I suggest something like: "Try to remove cards so as to uncover as many new cards as possible in each play".

7) These "casual" type games are suitable for attracting potential customers to a site, but they should be offered as giveaways when combined with other purchases, I think. They are not worth $14.95 by themselves.

I hope these suggestions are helpful. I offer them because you have shown that you read our comments and often apply them. These newer games seem more professional and better than your older ones. Thank you for the opportunity to try them out, and best wishes.

Oh this is great!! I love card games! Have downloaded so many, I cant keep track of them all. This one is really good! Wish it would work on my Windows Vista machine though. Thank goodness, I still do have Win XP. It is sad to see support for OS that nobody uses anymore, the antiquated Win 98. why would anyone use Win 98 when they have availability to XP, and now Vista?

I'm an ex-Technical Analyst from Lockheed/Martin (Oak Ridge National Lab at the time. I'm now totally disabled [Brain Tumor etc].

I enjoy what You have given Me! Especially free mah-jongg games &
one that started with "Persia" -a block eliminator- I lost once having to reformat my hard disk. I'm sure I will especially like this game!
Thanks Again,

Wow - only 54% negative comments about a Doublegames game?!! That's equivalent to a 99% positive on any other game :-) so I was forced to download it and see what was so exciting about it. I really liked it! There's a strategy to it because you need to get rid of all those middle cards, too, but you can't put them anywhere first. Thanks GOTD

I played a few hands and enjoyed myself. I like the game, color doesn't bother the eyes, music is ok. My question is - if this is a "free" game - why only ALLOW 5 days of play or 14 times to play? The other games I have loaded from this website do NOT have these limitations - this should be listed as a LIMITED TIME FREE PLAY game!

This is based on Egyptian Solitaire, but with one big fault. In this game, you are limited to two cards to total 13 whereas in Egyptian Solitaire you can have up to three cards totaling 13. Plus, the cards are laid out in a pyramid style which is way easier to read than this circular layout.

Too bad, because I have been searching for a Windows version of Egyptian Solitaire [I have an old DOS version].

I'm new to this website, and I appreciate the fact that some of these are repeats. I missed out the first time, so it's new to me. This is a great little game, easy to learn and tough to beat. I don't know that I would pay $14.95 for it, but IMHO most of the "casual" games that sell for $15-$20 are way over-priced. I'm old enough to remember the days when we could play Pinball for $.05 per game (and it wasn't virtual.) Thanks for the chance to try Red Sun Solitaire for free!

The description is dull and silly ("and etc.", lols), almost nothing about the game..But the game doesn't look that bad, it's their own loss, that they can't give us any details:

- Three modes: Quest Mode (gaining points that transforms in ranks, see screenshots), Timed Mode (you've got 3 minutes to complete the set, earning points when you finish early or losing points when you finish late) and Funny Mode (just playing for the sake of Solitaire, no points, ranks or timelimit)

- short How-To, more about the game modes, than about the rules or controls

- in-game music, that is nowhere near japanese music, just general muzac

- character limited profile nickname naming, it has allowed to use me "Patricia" instead of my "Patrician", pah

- you can resume your game later

That's my quick review, as for gameplay, I can't say, 'coz I don't know how to play solitaire and as I said before, the game's "How-to" is too simple and says nothing about controls...

If you like solitaire, I think it's worth trying.

Cheers,

Frankie
