This game is simple and mostly fun. The big problem, for me, is a couple of the monsters really perpetuate racist stereotypes. Picture the most stereotypical "African Medicine Man" you can, thick lips, grunting, and all. Very, very disappointing and upsetting. I wouldn't pass this along to my African-American child.

I downloaded the game and installed it, entered the key. Now when i got to play the game nothing happens. I double clicked the icon and wait and nothing. What do i do to fix this problem?

This game is very fun and addicting. I went all the way through it and am now on the second time with a new avatar. The reason I am doing this again is because I think i was on Chapter 4 by the time I figured out that the matches you make controls the powers, money, mana, and attacks. So now I am drawing out the battles to the very last hit point so I can earn more money to buy better armor and stuff at the store. The only thing the hints told you was that mana came from the wizard hat matches. It took me one whole chapter to figure out that you can only attack when you make sword matches. I originally thought that the more matches you made, it gave you points toward an attack. Eg., match match match (I have enough points to trigger an attack) attack. Well, now you know how a twisted mind works if you don't spell every little thing out.

The kids I babysit love to watch me play, so that must say something for the graphics. I recommend this game to anyone who likes match 3 games.

Loved the game but after a while it crashed my computer twice so had to uninstall it. What a shame as I love these type of games.

Great game! My wife finished it already and I am still working on it (I had to cook the ribs today). Seldom do we find a game we both enjoy this much.

WOW... Did not expect this game to be such a hit!! My kids and I can't stop playing it. What a great idea to introduce the RPG world to the puzzle genre. Just simply an outstanding game! A+ for originality.

A pretty good, though watered-down, version of "Puzzle Quest" I am enjoying this, but I would not recommend it as a purchase, since you can get Puzzle Quest for about the same price for almost every platform (PC, PS2, Wii, etc. I have the Wii version of that)

However, the PC version of Puzzle quest is hard to find (except as a download), so if you don't have a fast connection (I'm on dial-up) this is a good substitute.

Definitely worth the time for the free hour. And if you got it while the full version was free (as I did), then it is definitely a good use of download time.

Installed just fine on Vista Home Premium.

AWESOME game! Installed perfectly on Vista home, though Avast did pick up a false-positive trojan. Did a scan and nothing showed up. This is great game for kids too. Not your usual match three, you really have to plan and think. LOVE IT!

I downloaded this game and have played it for several hours. It downloaded and installed with no problems. It's a nice little time killer. It's not exactly a game to enthrall you, but it is entertaining enough to keep you busy. I think it'll be a good one for when the kids come and want to play on grandma's computer.

Addictive and fun

I have downloaded and enjoyed lots of the games that GOTD has featured, but this is the first time I have posted comments. I had to download Puzzle Hero twice [becuase the 1st downloaded file indicated it was corrupted]. With a dial up connection the two downloaded took over 8 hours. TAfter the second download finsihed I did see a dialog box that indicated the license was stored and valid, yet when Puzzle Hero started, it indicated I neeeded a key and had only 1 hour of "play". What I was promised by Genimo Software via GOTD was a fully operational registered version of the software and not a 1 hour free tral. I emailed Genimo on Sunday indicating I needed a 'key' so that the arrangement they made with GOTD would be hnored. "Team Genimo sent me a 'flaming response' on Monday, indicating that I did not read the "read me" file and that they would not provide technical support. I responded that I always read the 'read me' file and that providing the MISSING key was not techical support. It was what was needed for them to honor the arrangement that they made with GOTD, which was a FULLY REGISTERED copy of the software to all GOTD customers if they downloaded on Sunday June 29th. Genimo has yet to respond. Although the game was fun, this company DOES NOT honor they agreements and I will NEVER purchase any of their software or download any other freebees they may offer through GOTD. It's simply not worth wasting all that time to download for 1 hours of free play. IMO Genimo may make nice software, but they are not reputable and could care less about their customers.

I liked the match3/rpg combo idea of Puzzle Hero UNTIL I GOT TO THE ABSOLUTELY OFFENSIVE AND RACIST GIANT BLACK MOONSTER/SAMBO/JEMIMA/BIG DUMB ANIMAL CHARACTER.(Sorry, I don't remember its name.) I don't know what this character added to the game besides being a source of offensiveness. I hope Comment 82 and 87's kids aren't allowed to play past the first few levels. Why resort to this when it's so totally un-necessary and loses customers not only for this game but (on principle) for other games by the same company?

I like this game a lot, but the African men as monsters and their appearance and behaviour was a bit offensive and racist. Other than that, the game is really good.

Got this at the last minute last night. Dang it--kept me up another hour playing. I love Match 3 and I love RPG. But I REALLY love clever combos like this that give me both! Great job.

i downloaded and installed yesterday morning, i ended up sitting there for almost 4 hours.. i beat probably 30 enemies and am on the like 7th or 8th town....

Warning: VERY ADDICTIVE! Great game. Only wishes: 1. Computer opponent (monsters) was a little bit smarter or at least give player choice in difficulty (easy, medium, hard). Game is way too easy as is. 2. Also, would be nice if we got to choose sex of our warrior. BTW, sometimes it's to your advantage to make a bad move and lose your turn. Don't feel trapped into making that one combo available when you know it sets up the monster for a better combo after. Make an illegal move and then let the monster set you up for the better combo.

Thanks Stephen #78 & Murtaza #99 for your help. It was my NVIDIA drivers. I installed 169.55_quadro_winxp2k_international_whql.exe and it works fine, now. Also my computer display is fast again. I always thought I had some darn Trojan slowing down by computer even though Mcafee and Spyware Doctor said it was clean. My eMachine cd recovery is apparently defective.

Very good game very addictive and enjoyable to play.

Hi there! Well is like this. I intended to only play the game a few
minutes but this game is so addictive. No kiddin'! Normally I could
care less,but not much less, for the match 3 games. But this is
really cool with the addition of the animated features.
Kudo's to whomever designed the monsters we fight. Grade A artwork
and animations for them..
I did like the salon too. Where you could pick clothers, darken or
lighten the skin color of the figure you are going to use. I thought
that was a very nice extra touch on this game for people.
One thing I didn't like much was this game is pretty much a CPU hog
and I was not able to jump from program to program smoothly and then
come back to the game. Every thing moved in slow motion when trying
to do that.
I do not normally play games with the sound or effect sounds on
and didn't really hear the sounds of the game.
I give this game the highest rating in all accounts. It is a winner!

What an amazing concept. Take a nice match 3 game and alternate it with an adventure style game that gives you a good reason to match 3 or 4. Game didn't care for my Win 98 computer (some kind of missing dll error). Runs great on the XP computer.
Fun game for adults and children. Grandkids 6 and 8 years are working together to figure out which tiles are important to defeat the creatures and build up a nestegg to buy pertinent items to defeat them.

What a nice strategy game to get everyone exercising their brainpower and enjoying it at the same time.

I got a registration pop-up saying license valid and stored.
Tried to play a couple of hours later.
Still appeared unregisted! so I entered the registration information again, and now it says "the key you entered is already expired. please try a new key"

sigh.

Not serious Match 3-4 fab but this sort of mixed theme does
work. Keeper on Vista HP. Note that if have old eyes and have
set monitor to DPI 120, 1024x768 then need to use Safe Mode
or reboot to Normal 100 DPI in order to get the lower right
corner 4 boxes which use to Enter Key from read me (same as
that background popup on first run). W/o Key only heve 1 hour.
Plays fine tho in 120 DPI then.
Doesn't seem to allow for changing to Male hero? Thought maybe
came at higher Experience levels but that Utoo vid acts like it's
a fixed chick hero. No matter, fun & challenging. Higher battles look really hard! Thanks guys. 9/10 for this style.

Just get the codes from readme. Then when you've downloaded the game. click 'KEY' and paste the code wheree it asks you too!!!!

This really isn't difficult, yet so many people can't seem to download things successfully.

Total clone of puzzle quest for the ds/psp, but a good game. First time in a while that I've kept my ggotd.

If GAOTD listened to all the people that complained about three in a row we may have never seen this one. This adds to the idea of three in a row. You have to think about what you need to do. I also like when you make a mistake you lose your turn. We may get tired of three in a row games but there maybe in all of the games one you will like. This I like.

It seems that a lot of community members have been having problems with this one. It really isn't a problem; you just have to watch out for the activation details that pop up in a window once you've clicked on the games install file. Once the game has been installed click on the button that says something like register or enter key (I can't remember exactly what it said now) Once you've done this the game should be registered.

You will also find the registration details in the read me file once you've unzipped the downloaded file.
There has been a new file posted over at Geminos home page. See link at comment #94, which will also work with today’s registration details.

Hmmm does anyone else turn off their computer when not in use?
I downloaded & activated Ok, and the game seemed to start; then had to go out, so shut down as per usual - the game will not open/ Offline it asks to connect, so, OK, maybe needful, but even online still I can't get the darn thing to even start - Not sure if shutting down is the issue, but thought it worth raising the question for others who like to be offline to play, and to shut down when not at the machine.

Great game! I love RPG and cartoon graphic. The game is easy (but hard sometimes!) and very funny. Thanks for uploading taht software!

The game was actually kind of fun, although repetitive and slightly unchallenging. The graphics were nicely done. If you like puzzles, this is a good one, because you actually see the fruits of you labor when you match 3 or four of a kind. Also, you can get brutally punished if you don't pay attention to your health. I enjoyed it much more that the plain "bejewelled" clones. The story line is kind of vague, but I imagine that a game that combined a series of different puzzles alined with a graphic adventure figure who could attain strength, beauty, or whatever through your puzzle solving abilities, would be neat. This one is on a small scale. I will keep it and delete all my "bejewelled" clones. thanks.
