Portal war:

In Brief:
"Portal war" is a classic 2D "Tug of War" strategy game. You need to plan and send correct uncontrollable troops towards the enemies and hope they beat them. More commonly known as a Lane Defence game (with a heads up to Plants vs. Zombies).
The Game:
Portal war is a short, fairly basic lane defence game. You're just thrust into it without any instructions, but the simplicity makes it easy for new players to the genre, while those who have dabbled in it before will pick up how this offering works in no time. While mechanically sound enough, there are a few gripes.

In total the game is in ten stages. The only struggle hits in the earlier waves as the given fighters and those that unlock through the round are fairly weak with no option to upgrade their strength or defence. After a few levels, however, stronger characters become available, eventually all accessible at the start of the wave. In no time you wil have your attack plan executing with ease to the point the only way enemies slip past you is via distraction or the slow gold generation not giving you that one you need to whip out that five coin fighter that would have been handy.

Portal war does dialup the tension a bit by not showing the health of the opponent. You just have to rely on determination to reach the next stage. Some levels I struggled with ended in victory faster than those that were a breeze.

Overall, Portal war plays well, but ends up easier than the most basic F2P or P2W tower defence mobile games. So short in fact that if you remove times I Alt tabbed out the whole thing took less than an hour.

I recomend this game as it was mildly enjoyable and helped kill an hour of boredom.

Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 63 antimalware engines. You can see the scan HERE

There must be some kind of engine that is used for defense games because this looks quite identical to other tiles of this genre that have been given away lately. I played a little bit of the game and I was not too intrigued by the gameplay. You can find more fun with Plants Vs Zombies which appears to be part of EA Play if you have a Gamepass for PC subscription or on XBOX One.

sailorbear510 aka Jason,

There's another one called War of Kings that uses virtually the same assets. Available on Itch.io and Falcoware.
