Cross Road Traffic is a fun arcade game in which you have to help the people cross the road in traffic. There are a bunch of cars which move with different speeds. You have to carefully choose the time to move the people.
Use this app to learn to play piano with realistic sounds. With How To Play Piano you just pick a cool song and learn how to play it in 1 minute.
The goal of this game is to get a red car out of a six-by-six grid full of automobiles by moving the other vehicles out of its way. Designed to develop sequential-thinking for impulsive brains, we offered more than 3,000 puzzles for you to clash.
The rules are the same, but the new piece designs make the game a lot more interesting. The premise of Color Blocks Block Puzzle is simple: Drag blocks around the screen to fit them into the shaded region in the middle of the screen.
Columns - a mix between falling blocks gameplay and match 3 games. Play until the pieces reach the screen top, just like the classic games. Collect more than 20 achievements to unlock them all!
Tried this in spite of the generally negative reviews. Yes, it's impossible to use with a mouse. I think it would also be very difficult to hit the right key using a touch screen (or Android phone) when the piano keys keep shifting left or right to make room for a lower or higher note. I'm glad I got to try this before buying, sorry I wasted my time on it.
For PC version, why can't you tap computer keyboard keys to hit the notes? Can a MIDI keyboard be connected? That's something that would be great in the phone version as well.

lovestryingprograms you can find the "game" most likely at C:\Games\PlayPiano_Game and most likely you will find most games that come through this site in that location if you want to download them in the future. C:\Games is kind of the default "install" location (although most games are not really installed in my experience)
Just doubleclick playpiano.exe and you are set OR rightclick said exe and find the "copy to desktop" option in the pop list that appears and start the game from the newly created desktop shortcut. Good luck with this one. Unless you have touchscreen on your laptop I am afraid that this will be to fast for a rusty pc user (heck it is even to fast for me and I am an avid gamer) I suggest you come back tomorrow for a real pc game, most likely a playrix or alawar match 3 or HoG. Sunday games are somehow always better than saturday games for some reason ;)

There once was a man named Pavlov who did strange things to dogs with buzzers and food pellets. Well, there is slobber running out the side of my mouth right now.

What's the deal with all the Android games/apps lately? Isn't there a separate site for those?
It's called "http://android.giveawayoftheday.com".
I thought this was a PC game site?

Too complicated to play with the mouse. and I don't see it available for android or kindle. bummer. I did find a free one in the app store just not this one.

By the way, I assume everyone knows the GOTD site actually has a music composition app today as well?
Called "Ath Tek DigiBand 1.8"; unfortunately based upon comments it has a one year license this time instead of lifetime like the previous version given away...

Should this be called a game? I'd say, it should be giveawayed at giveawayoftheday.com, not on game.giveawayoftheday.com

Seriously, a touch screen how-to app? (How many pc's have touch screen?) This, and the teach English one from the other week are not games. They are teaching programs.
Can you please put these programs in the assorted software giveaway of the day and put just *games* under the game.giveaway section? If you don't have a game, so be it, no game that day, but putting something that isn't a game just to make it look better, does not help.
I know, reviews not suggestions, but the forum is far too confusing as to where you can put comments without them being totally buried, and this _is_ relevant to today's giveaway.

Hi Stephen,
Since my laptop does not have a touch screen, I had the same issues as noted in prior comments. I also found that my internet connection needed to be active to be able to access the library of songs. I was disappointed with the limited number of songs (Holiday=Happy Birthday???). I also noted that when opting for the different instruments, the piano was still pictured (also shown in one of the screenshots above). The lack of instructions was not helpful in figuring out what to do, such as how to go from choosing a song back to the piano so that I could see it played - sometimes this seemed to be automatic, but sometimes after choosing a song it just played while staying on the library screen. At one point, the program seemed to freeze up, so I have decided to delete this "game". Thanks to GGOTD to the opportunity to check it out, even though I think it needs a lot of improvement, even for use with touchscreens.

I meant #12 - I am sorry

I do not agree completely with #11 - I am conservatory taught & graduated with two instruments - piano & clarinet - yes, back in our days it was STAFF STAFF staff, best thing we had to "hear" the staff - was a record, & then it was ALSO someone else's interp of the music. This helps students understand timing & melody (I always sat 1st chair in both instruments) also - my great grand-daughter loves the colours & enjoys chasing them across the screen - maybe I make a player out of her yet - lol

These few observations are based completely on the images provided. I won't be downloading this, I'm running out of bandwidth and these mobile games converted to PC are really not worth it for me, but they are especially not worth it when they don't do what they claim (see below). If I am wrong and someone confirms that later in the game the below elements are introduced, I will download and test.
Based on the sales pitch and images, this isn't designed to teach anyone to play a piano. Anyone can pound on some keys and even learn which keys to push in which order to play a simple tune. What really makes a piano player is someone who can read music. This is implied in the game as there appears to be a type of colored score above the piano, but without the staff and letters, no one is going to know what that means or be able to understand the nomenclature of music.
So, to the developer: the interface looks good, the color coding is a nice touch, is visually appealing, and may even help someone to learn the different keys, but you need to include the standard staff, key/note notations, and timing notation (quarter note, half note, etc). Otherwise, you aren't teaching anyone anything about a piano, you are just teaching someone to tap a certain colored key when a certain colored box pops up.

addition:
You need a touch screen. My desktop-PC only works with mouse and keyboard...

It can be installed and played on Win 8.1. - even "windowed"
The only problem I've got: HOW shall I play? I "only" have the usual keyboard with ABC and so on, not an instrument...

Woohoo I can play the piano..... not that this has anything to do with todays giveawy though. Another android clone however unlike previous PlayJoWee games this one actually has a proper full screen. Now if I only could find out how to use the keys with my keyboard instead of having to race mymouse across the screen this might even proof fun for a few hours since I love music games. It ian't guitar hero or Audiosurf (Audiosurf 2) but compared to their previous giveaways it's a step in the good direction.
For those that like me love music games, you should definately check out Audiosurf 2 which let's you play with your own music collection and as they say it let's you "ride your music". an example video can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl_z8XdAz_k

Seriously? This is one that really needs a touch screen and my PC does not have that. So since it would just be totally weird to try playing a piano by clicking a mouse I think I'll pass this time, lol.
I'll be watching for the next PC game. :)

If there is a seperate website for Andoid and Iphone giveaways - why are we continuing to see them here? I thought this site was for desktops. It wouldn't make any difference if they opened up to a large screen but they don't. Dissapointed again.

If you don't have a touch screen, this game is worthless.

This is considered a game? Sounds more like an app for the GOTD site, not game.giveawayoftheday.com to me...

Another android game from PlayJowee Publishing, though this one will go ful screen. Ideally you need a touch screen to get the best response from this educational game. After trying several tunes on a standard monitor I gave up as I was too slow using a mouse to be able to keep up with the prompts. Still, it seems a decent tool to learn the keys the songs thta are included.
There's three instruments to choose from the piano, acoustic guitar and chello/strings, but only the piano sounds like a piano. You've also got quite a few different genres of music to choose from for example, Latino, dance, Folk songs, Russian songs, hits form the 1980's, disco hits etc. Sleceting any one of these opens up a second menu where you can choose from a few to several songs from that genre.. There's three modes, normal, slow and step.
Conclusion:
Todays giveaway is not really suitable for PC use becasue it was designed for touch screen android phones. Still, it may be worth downloading if you don't have any limits and you like music apps or if you have young kids who can mash the digital keybpard to their hearts content. :) I've deleted this becasue I already have some decent music authoring programs like Sonar, Fruity loops, Liquid Rhythm, Songs2See, Music Creator and Magix Music Maker 2014 Premium.
