The graphics were messed up and unplayable on my 5 year old xp machine. The game ran fine on my 2 year old lap top. The graphics still felt unstable somehow like an old interlace image from an amiga computer. I played level one and that was enough for me. I liked a game called clash and slash or something like that much better. Not being able to see the entire screen at one time REALLY SUCKED. Satelite that avoids you was annoying. I was looking forward to trying this game. I think it could be really good but it would need many more types of weapons and enemies.

Missile Command on steroids. Be sure to go to options first as previously stated. There are many different planets and 3 difficulty levels and the game speed can be increased or decreased in options. Each planet has high scores for each of the difficulty levels. Great game, would definately be worth the 10 bucks.

I have Vista Home Premium and it ran with no trouble. I didn't have to change a thing or reinstall with compatibility settings.

Not to my liking today as it is a pretty basic game.

The only good thing here is being able to leave honest comments without *supporters* of the site frantically clicking on NO on the "Did you find this comment useful" (Unlike the sister site)

Bring back the break out clones pretty please :-)

#24 Bomb the laser building at the bottom. Probably any bomb should work with the right timing. I use the napalm bomb. And the people DO scream when shot. If that makes anyone squeamish they probably shouldn't be playing shooting games anyways. Maybe go out and plant a tree or something.

DLing this current game to try in a bit (dinner time).

Very nice cute game that is 1000% better than the original Missile Command (both arcade and Atari 2600 version). In 1024 x 768 resolution mode on my aging Pentium 4 WinXP machine with nVidia FX5200 graphics card the graphics look great and gameplay is smooth! Thank you GOTD and Positech Games for this easy to play, much improved game, that I really enjoyed as a kid and will certainly be spending some of my leisure time with in the future.

Wow Soloact you have 512 GB ram? that's a lot of ram. 3s already said that never mind. I don't really like these types of games, Most of the games I like needs a different gaming console, like PS Xbox gamecube, etc.

darn fine game, I was always a big fan of missile command though. windows sp3/2.4g p4 /768 ram/asus 9125 vcard system seems to like the game and I haven't had any problems thusfar. and as another upside, the small size of the game makes it a perfect time killer for my laptop too. thanks ggoatd and thanks stephen I have read enough of your reviews to know that you have a good perspective on alot of these games, and once again I do appreciate you taking the time to do the legwork.

Lol, Stephen... I wondered why you were adding to a review that wasn't there. I'll check it out on the forum. Thanks GGAOTD... downloading now to try it. I tend to give everything a chance, regardless of others' remarks. (tho yours is also very informative, Stephen... thanks)

This is a fun game to play. It doesn't offer us cutting edge graphics and sound. Instead it offers a fun game with a small footprint that every computer can support. Try it out yourself and see. Thank you so much GGAOTD and also thank you to the publisher Positech Games. I hope we can see more of your games here.

I downloaded it, it installed fine and works fine on XP but then it's a tiny and simple game. It's easy to play and kind of fun in a dorky kind of way. The first time I played it I was rudely surprised to find that i ran out of missiles but that's ok now that I know I have a finite number of them. The problem is that when it switches resolutions on my monitors it wreaks havoc on my icons and I have to stop and rearrange every icon I have which is NOT acceptable. I have other games that don't throw my desktop in discord so I know games can be written that way. I had to delete it on my main computer but I might put it on my laptop which only has one screen. It might be fun to play when I'm sitting in a waiting room somewhere. $9.95 isn't that much so I guess it would be worth it.

Nice however I would love to see the original Kudos or Democracy 2 be available here. Positech has been a great developer making all these games while been a one man show.

I like it, actually I don't like it, well perhaps I do. It is a game where you play things, game things.

This "review" makes as much sense as most of the others found here.

Can't believe this one is getting more thumbs down than thumbs up (nearing 1 p.m. ET). Smooth gameplay, good graphics and sound. Apart from that, sure it's simple, but it's a fun keeper.

The Game works fine on my Vista Home Premium 64-bit without the compatibility mode. And to my surprise it has multilanguage support. I thought the game would be like some other game from the good old Apple II-times, where one can conquer planets, earn tax and build new troops to conquer more planets.. too bad, its not like that. So this game is just for these moments where you dont know what you should do in the next 5 minutes or so.

A "Missile Command" clone, which you must protect your world and it's inhabitants. The game did not initially boot for me at start-up but did the second try. The graphics and sound are average with heavy repetitive gameplay. The game is scored 2/5.

Seriously...Vista users need to stop complaining and know how to use their OS. You just need to turn on the compatibility mode and you are good to go!

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-compatibility-mode/

ggotd, you guys really need to post a predominate FAQ on this one.

Anyway, the game is fine, I'll probably play it for a week while I wait for the next release, then delete it.

pretty good indeed. But inevitably boring after some time. The game speed is just too slow, but yet can rush you silly at times. Control is a little awkward too. I'd really want to see other Positech games though, 'Democracy' looks pretty fun. Thanks Positech, and definitely GAOTD for their great job and dedication.

Before playing, adjust the screen size, music level and other options. I think the game and is a keeper for me. For those who think its too slow, you might have a bit of ADHD, try adjusting the speed or switch to hard.

Only problem i have is the font on the instructions seem like something from a commodore 64

Its a keeper for me.

Seems like a decent and new take on the classic Missle Command. I like it as much as I like Missle Command. It's worth "it" to me, especially free.

All of the complaints were a waste of time to read.

This game installs easily, but you do have to hunt for the shortcut Icon inside the program file. The ease of installation is the only good thing you can say about this game. I wish I could get back the three minutes it took to evaluate. There are absolutely no advantages to this game when comparing it to hundreds of other things you can do to waste your time. "Uninstall" is just as easy as "Install" and I guarantee you will be uninstalling.

Laptop, MSXPpro, 512 GB RAM, Pentium M (III) 1GHz CPU, older graphics.
This game installed easily, and actually works quite well on the older machine. Many games don't work well on slower machines due to slower graphics processors.
This is pretty much a circular version of the old "Missile Command" from the older arcade days, but with some updates.
The IMHO rating:
Download 5/5, very small download, good for those who have slower connections,
Installation 5/5, standard GAOTD easy installation,
Options 5/5, as it gives the user some control on graphics and resolution,
Play 5/5, straight to-the-point gameplay
Overall 5/5, IMHO
Cheers!

I don't know why don't like it, probably I am too young or too old for this type of games, I don't have patience for this type of slow moving missiles.

If the game is in as nine bucks how is it that there could be any more than 1 or 3 people display on the character and the exact location when in the cockpit. I am amazed at this action and wish it was changed so off to bed thanks goatotd
