A bad aspect of "no Steam keys" for the developer, is no one can leave comments on Steam. So the Steam community will never know our opinions.
If I get a chance to play this one soon I'll try to post my thoughts here. I'm happy to get to try a game even if it's not on Steam. I'm getting worried that I have too many eggs in the (Steam) basket... If it ever falls apart it's good to know I have games from here that should still work.

ray_ca, I don't understand why that bothers you? There are a LOT of people (myself included) who don't have Steam installed, and never will, because we don't trust it. We have all read the "horror stories" from people who bought a lot of games on Steam and then lost the lot, for example.
So in your opinion, all Steam games should only ever be available via Steam, is that correct? Perhaps you are not aware that many "steam" games are sold in non-DRM versions by the developers on sites such as HumbleBundle? That's how I was able to purchase a non-Steam copy of "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes."
Seriously, I don't understand your attitude on this.
