Nice to have 3 different levels of play, good game definitely worth the price. Oh, wait, it was free so even better! If you like match three type of games this is entertaining.

I got this the last time around and still play it. The screams of the little guys falling cracks me up. I do have to agree that the largest explosions cause a stutter of the graphics, like they can't keep up with the sound. I have so much fun until I reach that point. When that effect plucks my last nerve, I finally stop playing.

Thanks GGotD and 300AD. You still make me laugh.

Downloaded and enjoyed.
Here is a general overview of what i thought.

Graphics: For this type of game, the graphics are great. They make a good impact, and aren't large CPU hogs. I found that everything looked good and ran smoothly. 9/10

Gameplay: When i first downloaded, i thought it to be another breakout clone. I was quite wrong, with it being considerably different. The rush to grab the falling coins to get more points was quite fun too, and added a unique feel to the game. 9/10

Sound: The game itself is small in file size, so sound couldn't be given super high quality or whatever. However, i found that the game sound was made to fit what was happening on screen quite well, and the timing was perfect. 8/10

Replayability: This game has 90 different levels. The good thing about Phantasia 2 is that it has a scoring system, so you want to go back to get an even better score. So yeh, i would play this again and again. 9/10

Overall thoughts:
I loved this game, and its so good to see small developers making games that aren't focused on showing off the latest shaders or HDR or bloom enough to set your puppy on fire. Gameplay is what people these days often forget about. I mean, come on, seriously, ive had enough of the same World war 2 FPS, its boring, seriously. And to those that say
"but call of duty 3 was different from 4", well, you are wrong, so so wrong. Phantasia 2 was a pleasure to play. Keep up the good work guys, and thanks giveawayoftheday.com, you make my studying fun.

Score: 8.75

This great game kept me up till 3am.... just couldn't stop playing till I'd completed each level.... I think it is designed for 5 - 10 years old ... but I found it easy but challenging and addictive. Thanks GAOTD.

#72 McAfee also popped up an alert that the game wanted to access the internet. I just blocked the application and it runs fine. That said, the game's ok, especially "classic mode," but I'm not a fan of the constant, "help! help!" screams from the dwarves. It's a bit annoying. And I also have slowdowns during big explosions on my 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 system with 2.5 GB RAM and a 7600 GT card. It's playable and it's reasonably entertaining, especially for quick gaming bouts, so thanks GGOTD!

It's a really good game. I found modes 1 and 3 to be the most fun. There are some bugs, but they don't affect game play too bad.

My 5 yearold grandson has been playing this all day . He likes it. Had to slow his mouse down to make it work better. I think it rates up there with his ABC game. From what I see it runs good. Installed easy. I will check it out after he goes to bed. Good game .Thumbs up . Thanks GGOTD.

I can't get it to work on Vista. I see other people aren't having problems. I wonder what I'm doing wrong. Got this error: “Display Change Failed…Hardware failed to switch to the specified mode”. Oh well. I guess I've got something set wrong or something.

ATTN #72 : You must allow the game to access the web for verification reasons. Otherwise , how do you expect to register the software that GOTD offers ? I have never left a response before , but this needed addressed. Great game by the way. Even if some games are repeated posts , this is the first time i've seen it. So well worth the D\L.

> to 63, Ben Grim. And I bet you've been grim all your life. A nanosecond of your time? What the heck are you doing reading a forum?? And to someone who takes time to correct their typos, THANKS, Whiterabbit! Some of us actually take time to ENJOY life, unlike others, who honk as soon as the light turns green and you're not already gunning your engine. I always pity those people...
Anyway, have this game from the last release, and enjoy the variety, the graphics... and this has reminded me to put it on my "play" list again. Thanks, GGAOTD.

downloaded installed and played. It seemed like fun.
Exited and it resized and shuffled my desktop icons, scrambled and froze my desktop and locked up my computer. I had to shut down manually and then the computer wouldn't restart. I had to shut down, unplug and walk away for a while with my guts churning with worry. Thank goodness that did the trick and my computer started back up okay after the break. No one else related this sort of problem so I guess it was an isolated case with my HP Pavilion running Windows Xp with service pack 3. (though folks with froze-up computers can't post comments.)
Sorry to be dour, but this experience disproves the theory that all GGOTD games are "worth the price". No, this sort of scare and hassle is not even worth "free".
Oother comments in general: an arkanoid and a match-3 bundled to gether is innovative, the art was cartoonish and cute, the screaming was a bit much. This might be a fun time for anyone who doesn;t have my misfortune... but be warned of the possibility if you're reading comments to decide to downliad. Big thumbdown from me.

Thank you to 300 AD and GGAOTD for this offer today. The dsl download/setup took under 3 minutes and plays great on my Windows XP. This is a really cute game, the 'help me' dwarves sounds are great and the game play is interesting.

Thank you for all the great comments ... I almost passed on this game, but after reading the comments - thanks Stephen-WR and others, I decided to give it a try. It's a keeper ! Thanks.

#30 thanks for saying Pong since I was wondering what arkanoid was. that helped me decide to download this to try.
I remember pong, but never heard of arkanoid.

after downloading and installing I opened it to play and this happened.
trying to connect to the internet was blocked by bitdefender internet security
did anyone else get the trying to connect to the internet the game tried to do when I opened it to play? it did it twice on me.
why should a game try to connect to the internet?
it should only be there to play on your computer by yourself. it is not an rpg you play online.

@31 Unhappy Bunny. Very sad to hear. Game downloads and runs fine on Vista Home Basic with 2G RAM. I hope you kept checking back for help because there is plenty of it here and on the forums. There is still time to get this limited but cute game. The dwarves yelling "yeah" had me going at first; I tried to catch them. LOL. Get the coins you can, have fun, and see what new adventure awaits us tomorrow. Thanks team.

I agree, as posted above, that comments such as "Looks interesting" or "I will try it" are worthless. Why are people so impatient they can't wait until AFTER they try it and then report how or if it worked. Do they really think that strangers are interested in their "intentions"? If so I will give you my list of plans for the rest of today, which include shopping, maybe getting my shoes shined, visit to the pawn shop, etc. Are you interested? Why of course you are!

Anyhow, my take on the game is it's cute but mainly for little children. There are a number of, to me at least, annoying sound effects, such as screaming and also repeated shouting of "Help! Help!" I deleted them by going into the program, finding the "audio" section, and just removing. Otherwise, enjoyable game.

I'd been hoping this one would come back! (I have a new computer.)

The concept isn't original, but I find the look of the game quite charming, and it works well enough on my computer. If you already have a bubbles game you like, or don't like them at all, this might not be interesting for you (although you could still just try it - it's free after all), but if you're looking for a nice, free one to play offline, this could be your lucky day! :P

Nah. What others said. Ok til about level 5. Fast PC then
makes it too hard when only given a set of aptly named nlue balls.
Can't get enough fireballs and such to beat the faster lowering
levels. Otherwise plays on Vista HP.

Not a bad game. I played throught the entire 'Classic' game & had similar problems as #20 ("The “color changer” dosn’t work at all, and leave the changed block unuseless and imposible to clear.") I don't think I would ever pay $19.95 for it. Fun, but not too challenging.

So glad to see this game! I played the first one for a bit but had to format my HD. I found this game addicting and challenging. The musical score is wonderful. I actually load the game and put it in the back-ground just to have the music playing. Very relaxing. I will be buying this one in the near future to have if I need to radically remove junk from my HD again.
I give this game as a whole 9 out of ten. I take one point away for the addition quality. Can't get any work done! :)
Great job GOTD & 300AD!!

While this is yet another repeat, it's a nice game. For me it plays smoothly enough. Not sure about the lag issue that other users have commented on. I would recommend those that did not get this the last TWO times it was offered to download it while you can. That being said I question the need to post a game 3 times. I can see a repeat to give new users a chance to download a game. But to offer the same game a THIRD time is pushing the limit a bit IMHO. let's hope tomorrows game will be something new. I read rumors about the GGAOTD going back to a daily offering. I don't think that will happen. Even just posting on the weekend there are third run games. How can they suport a daily download of new games? This is not a rip at your site. I have loved all the great games and programs I have downloaded here. I was just looking forward to a new game. Thank you GGAOTD team for your efforts and of course thank you to the publisher, 300AD for your gift.

I gave this game a positive rating even though this isn't my favorite genre. It is a breakout/marble shooter type game and while some find them fun I get bored easily with them.

Having said that it isn't a bad game. Graphics and gameplay are good (if you like this type of game) and the game runs smoothly. It isn't a game I would play much but it is still worth the download to find out if you like it or not. :)

Be sure you meet the system requirements or the game may not play correctly. (#37?)

This game makes for a pleasant distraction when a “mental health” break is called for. It has just enough of a difference from run of the mill match 3 puzzle and brickbusters, to make it a keeper.

looks like my second review wasn't accepted. I posted a fuller report in the forums that included a video of the game play. I also suggested that those having problems running the game should try updating their version of Open GL. I've posted a link in the forums:

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/3588

It runs on all my computers, most of which are quite reasonable speeds (2.2G dual to 3.2G dual core processors all with 4 Gb of memory and all with decent graphics cards (Nvidia 7900GS, NVidia 8600 SLI and an NVidia 8800 GTS 640Mb) as well as a 1.5GHz 1Gb RAM 32Mb graphics card laptop.
