I have just come back to see what others have said about the browser window opening and I have tried again and I can confirm that if you open it windowed, then it does not try to open your browser to connect to the internet. If you open it full screen however, it does try to connect. could it be trying to detect whether it is being played on a phone or a computer and if on a phone, why is it connecting at all and what for?

I really admire developers attempts to publish Windows versions of their mobile games when they were on the small screen. The problem I have with these kinds of games is that there is hardly any challenge or room to call it a quick distraction. $6.99 seems too much when this app might be had in it's mobile platform store counterpart for less.
In regards to the graphics - its nothing special at best - it's simplicity and does not require a lot of know how on the gameplay mechanics.
The game was finished in one sitting, then I moved onto something else. While I am greatful for the Game Giveaway project for it's offerings, these kind of games just don't catch my interest. Thank goodness for the other sales out there.

It's okay. Definitely reminds me of Wheemplay games. I played in full-screen mode, and using the 'proper' exit by means of the ESC key does open a browser window. But I did find that just using ALT+F4 to exit as I do with many games (that otherwise require quitting back to the menu, clicking on exit, then confirming the exit) avoids this.

ps cant activate because of the flaming failed to connect and its because some programmers think I would love ms garbage which I do not. This company may just want to get rid of the open-your-browser-on-exit nonsense.

The problem with this cockup with the ms internet explorer opening is that sets windows internet settings to work offine. Problem because I use firefox and I then must open ms's ie to reset the work offline nonsense. Otherwise I cannot activate anything on gotd-ggotd with the workoffline thingy.

I usually enjoy these type of games. What I did NOT enjoy, however, was, as with so many who have posted here, the forced taking me to a web site after exiting the game. This, I agree, does diminish my trust in GGOTD that it would share a game that opens a browser and takes you to their web site immediately upon exiting. I do not know why some have this problem and a handful of others don't.
If it is any help to the admins, I also had to use the "ESC" key to get an exit option, as the main screen, at leas ton my computer, doe snot even give you an option to exit the game without doing that.
My personal solution to this problem: GAME DELETED

I also get directed to the publishers website using the esc. key to quit.
Only 20 levels, nothing too hard. One annoying issue is that although it keeps track of your progress, when I left the game it made me redo the last level I completed when I came back. So don't quit on one of harder levels (ones that require timing).

Gamers,
When running this game in windowed mode I had to 'pull' the game back onto the screen as part of it was off the screen on the right. I could exit the game in windowed mode by clicking the X on the top right without opening a link to any website but if it was not in windowed mode and I hit escape to exit, it would open a window to a website. At least this is what happened to my trial of the game. The game is a little challenging as you do have to hit certain release options at the exact right time to get the orange to the bear.

I do not play with sound so when this came up playing music and gave me no apparent way to turn it off, I did an Alt-Tab to get to my tray and turn off the sound. But then when I tried to go back to the game, the icon in the taskbar wouldn't work, the icon wouldn't go away so I couldn't delete this game from my computer. I finally had to wade through all the processes in task manager to get rid of this mess.
I really, really miss Wheemplay.

I just downloaded and activated this game. I just hit the esc button my keyboard to exit, the exit came up and i clicked yes. Some website came up also! So there is something with this game that will open up a browser when you exit!

Windows 8.1 Game play sofr a while, then crashes about level 10. the game doesn't show, but the sannoying steel drum music continues.
Reboot & delete.

I tried the game but didn't like the way you had no control over the sound and there was no distinction between sound effects and music (very irritating music at that). I closed it down and did NOT get any opening of my browser.
I just didn't care for the game and removed it. With the type of install, I just deleted it.

Stephen, I downloaded this morning, but when I close the game down, it does only that, closing down that is, no webpages are being openened.
Strange .. but fine for me.

Hi Stephen, hope all is well on that side of the pond...
I had no problems with Panda today, installed and ran properly on my Vista laptop, played a bunch of levels, made no attempt to open a browser when I "x'd" out of the game. However, if I click the "esc" key on the Home screen the "Exit Y/N" popup appears and clicking Y brings up the PlayJoWee website. Possibly the publisher failed to remove that code or no one caught it before the release here; GOTD games have never exhibited that behavior before, and obviously shouldn't.
The (also obvious) solution is plain, exit the game by x-ing out of it instead of the Home/ESC/Exit buttons. Or dump the game. Our choice.
As for me, I'll play it for a bit, I like this type of game and also the Wheem games we got. This one is colorful and fun, not too difficult to get used to, has plenty of options (and no fullscreen start as others mentioned), and I'm enjoying it. For a simple phys/puzz type it's a pleasant diversion. 7 out of 10 for me
But developers, GOTD users don't like surprises or overlooked gotchas like browser popups, this is going to cost you bad PR! It may have been inadvertent, but no matter to us, it's an absolute NO!NO!.

Hi Stephen,
I'm sorry, but it is also trying to open IE on my system. My firewall stopped it and I've banned it from connecting to the internet.
I did not click on anything other than pressing "escape" to close it down as I was running it full screen and it still tried to open IE.
It is probably trying to upload your high score, but I do not know that as I've not used a packet sniffer to see just what data is being transmitted to some unknown server.

Linda's comment wasn't there when I typed mine, but every time I close the game (and that is ALL I'm doing), it opens the website for the game developer. Not sure why it isn't happening for the mod, but it is for me and I also deleted the game.

I don't comment often, but I also miss the Wheemplay games.
As for this game, I enjoy physics-based games and while I like the fact that it gives you options at start-up to make the game windowed (yeah) or change the keys that perform certain functions, I detest the fact that upon closing the game, a web page is opened! Dear game people: DO NOT send me to a website when I play your game. If I'm interested, I'm intelligent enough to find your site on my own. Sending me there when I close the game makes me delete the game and not be interested in further offerings.

Downloaded into a zip file just fine on my XP3. Works with a mouse without having to change any settings. I tried the window mode but ended up using the full screen mode. The window mode seemed to just cut the right side of the picture off. A bit odd. My biggest problem is that when I shut the program down, it opens up my browser to playjowee.com. The main reason I have used GGOTD and only this site is because I could trust that the games were clean and didn't take over my computer to open up a browser page. Unfortunately, with this game, that is no longer true. The game has been deleted and I've lost a bit of trust in this site. So sorry.

I'm not writing much lately, but this time is an exceptional occasion.
I've been pleading for a long time that games do not blow up in your face by claiming the full desktop initially. And this game give you the opportunity to set your preferences before the game starts (windowed, resolution). Most of the others make it possible too but after the gane has already started. That is a big * * H U R R A Y ** for PayJoWee.
The looks and feel are a lot like Wheemplay (but not puerly a flash game though), the game is simple.
Click away the blue bars to set something in motion and the rest is logical movement prediction to get the orange ball at the waiting panda. There is no way of profiling several players.

Decided not to post a full review today. I though a simple explanation and a couple of images would suffice. I may add my usual games on sale section later. Need to go back to bed for a few hours. :)
Today's game downloads to a 22MB zip file. Once installed it is 40MB in size. The game is installed to the following path:
C:\Games\PandaWantsOrange_game
There's no shortcut installed, so make sure you make a note of the path so that you can create a shortcut.
Panda Wants Orange is a physics based game where you have to get an orange ball to the Panda by moving certain parts of the puzzle.
