Whiterabbit-uk, what does the cryptically named GAME FOR RECORD "button" in your screenshots do? Could it be mangled English for LOAD SAVED GAME maybe? Just my 2p worth!
Thanks for the offer but this isn't my kind of game, plus having to kill a task manually after every EXIT isn't doesn't inspire confidence …

Cad Delworth,
Please excuse the late reply. I only saw your comment at 4am Boxing Day. The button takes you to a different mode of play where you have to survive for as long as you can; or, until your bullets run out. In this mode you start with 999 bullets. When you die, it keeps a record of your best score. however, this is not saved when you close the game down as everything resets to zero.
I deleted the game after I'd posted my short comment as I have far better games of this genre; plus there were too many annoying bugs such as not being able to cancel the initial story that pops up i.e. pressing the skip button just blurs it for a moment, but then it carried on to the end, plus of course the game resetting itself so all saves and in game stats are lost when you close the game down, and, not forgetting having to open up the task manager even though you've closed the game down correctly via the menu system, to close it down again before you can boot it up again. It's a pity becasue the game did have potential. That said, its still playable if you don't mind replaying from the start everytime you boot up the game.
